Why wasn't it mentioned that the Smith & Wesson Schofield Model 3 was the revolver preferred and carried by Jesse James, arguably the most famous bandit of the late 1800s? The reason I understand the Schofield was preferred by Jesse James was because of its ease of reloading while mounted.
@shawnstephens1251
@shawnstephens1251 5 ай бұрын
It wasn't mentioned because these channels don't really know what they are talking about. It's just speedily generated content for those who fantasize. There is no such thing as an old west gunslinger.
@shawnj1966
@shawnj1966 4 ай бұрын
Probably because only Jesse James is known for preferring it and he didn't really kill a lot of people with one.
@shawnj1966
@shawnj1966 4 ай бұрын
@@shawnstephens1251, yes. There were very few gunfights in the old West as portrayed by Hollywood. One person would just draw and try to murder the other person without warning or they would ambush someone. Sure there were shootists known to be proficient with their weapons, but they weren't roaming around and getting called out into one on one gunfights or calling out other people. A guy could get killed doing that kind of stuff! LOL!

Dangerous can be taken in a few different ways. #1 in dangerous to the user was the Walker Colt. As the plunger would often fall into the cylinder when firing. Making a 2nd shot cumbersome at best. #1 to dangerous to something the size of a horse or smaller, down range under 100 is again the Walker Colt. That for handguns. Long Arms bring up many others. Just depending on what you want to do.

Problems..........The Colt's Patterson on the title was not made with a loading lever. That must be an Italian reproduction . It was always COLT's as in being made by Sam Colt. It's stamped that way on the barrels of every one made. Calling it a Colt or worse a cowlt is insulting.
