It’s weird but for me it’s “Click” , with Sandler. Towards the end he realizes he has lost everything, all the little things that make life what it is, he loses them and all because of himself. The feeling of having lost everything because of your own mistakes that could have been easily avoided is truly heartbreaking.

I agree. Most of the movie was weirdly humorous. It had me shaking my head and chuckling at the akward cruelty of the recognizably human nazis. Like Spielberg was deliberately attempting to keep the audience detached enough to not stop watching 30 minutes into the film. Then that final scene with the ring comes along, and forget about it, i balled my eyes out.

The ending of _One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest_ gets me every time. The Chief's realisation that everything that made McMurphy so compelling and insprirational has been eradicated forever, combined with the stirring score as he walks into the wash room to do what his comrade couldn't manage, and then finally making his break for freedom as Taber screams in triumphant defiance - well, I can't help but blub every single time I watch it. I thought the exact same thing. What I found interesting in the movie, one cop was yelling roll over and the other cop kept kneeling on the mans neck at the same time. Is that racism or is that a lack of communication or a lack of training or....? Until I find out differently, I do not believe George Floyd death was racially motivated. I think it was a result of an ill-trained police officer combined with poor judgement and his inability to overcome a stressful situation. What I also understand is the black community has seen this situation time and again. For example, Eric Garner dying the same way, being choked. The question remains, how many times has this happened since and/or prior? And how many times will it keep going on until something changes? Outside of the riots and looting, I will stand with the black community and demand reforms of the police procedures nation wide. Black Lives Matter, until it doesn't RIP David Dorn. The black community needs to recognize this issue as well.
@luhole
@luhole 4 жыл бұрын
@ I can hear what you're saying. But just to clarify, I don't think the gist of the issue is "the cop thought 'this guy is black, I'm going to kill him'" - it's more a pattern of thoughts and behaviours that laid the foundation for the cop thinking this sort of treatment is OK/he can get away with this because Floyd was black. It's a system that has infrequently punished excessive use of force disproportionately directed towards people of colour. Most white children are not raised to fear the police. Yes, income will impact this, but speaking generally. From what I understand, this is not the case for the majority of black children in America - they are warned to disregard their dignity and forget about justice so as to get out of interactions with the police alive.

The sad thing is it's not more relevant than ever; It's exactly as relevant as it's always been. What's changed is that things like it are starting to emerge from the shadows. We likely wouldn't even know his name or his story if it weren't for the people filming it.

Perhaps fulfilled? Vindicated? It's really a cathartic, victorious experience. It feels unique and special and magical. Maybe call it a eureka moment - the coming into brilliance. But there's also an element of togetherness - with Miles Teller and JKS both reaching a pinnacle together, which is very paternal. In another way, it's almost orgasmic, wouldn't you say? Euphoric, certainly.

Stand By Me gets me every time. Between the stress of the bridge scene and the, ' I want to go somewhere where no one knows me' line the film is one emotion after another. You feel mad, happy, depressed, nostalgic all in the space of 90 minutes. Easily one of the most, if not the most emotional film for me. Definitely should have had an honourable mention in this list.

Sophie's fainting because of hunger while trying to convince librarian about Emily Dickinson's existence (Sophie's Choice) 4. Antonio's look to his son and finally broke into tears in the final scene (Bicycle Thieves) 5. Young James watching in terror old James gets shot and dies at airport, Kathryn's crying eyes find young James and lighten up with love (12 Monkeys) 6. John Willoughby going up to top of City Hall building to fulfill his promise to people (Meet John Doe) 7. Daniel's whole subway speech at final scene (The Jesus of Montreal) 8. Powder disappearing into lightning (Powder)

Red's monologue during that scene is so powerful. "I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend again and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope." Such simple words, but they give me a chill every time. Especially when paired with the visual of Red and Andy reuniting on the beach. I would love to see Frank Darabont direct some more movies.

The feeling described in #2 is what drove the art movement of abstract expressionism - the sublime. If you've ever wondered how a blank canvas could be considered art, it is supposed to elicit this feeling in you. The endless, hopeless emptiness turns the focus back on yourself. It is an existential experience.

i don’t get why people seem to not be able to understand the brilliance of that scene. There are many other movies where i have felt more strongly about it, Like the ending of Life Is Beautiful for instance, but partly because those other scenes are more relatable as a parent etc. But what is a triump of story telling and emotion in Blade Runner 2049 is that they are conveying a foreign emotion and feeling that is completely outside the normal space of emotions for the human experience. yet i honestly felt for K, his relationship with his holographic girlfriend feels real, and we feel his love for her and his utter devastation at learning the truth that he is not ’the one’ they are lookikg for, and that as you say his identity is not real. Though in.that same moment of realizing it isn’t him, it almost doesn’t matter to him as much as the belief he feels around the idea of replicants truly emerging as life and.as long as that dream he felt exists with at least one replicant, he is willing to sacrifice himself. exactly as Sapper(Dave Batista) did before him at the start of the film. that is auch a hard idea to convey, a crazy bunch of emotions to translate in a medium of story telling like film. vs say how a book would. from the insane cinematography, to the brilliant directing, acting from frankly the best in all those fields working right now. Just a masterpiece. not something I want to watch over and over again, but still a.beautiful and unique film. can’t seriously wait for Dune now. wish he was working with Roger Deakins again, but i honestltly can’t think of a better active director working in making films at the moment, crossed fingers that he continues his streak of near perfect film making.

For me, the Boy in the Striped Pajamas will always be the most emotional. The feeling of complete desperation you have when the father is racing to the concentration camp, with you grasping for any shred of hope that he will get there in time, but also knowing in your heart that this time, there will be no happy ending. Realising that those children will die....its the most overwhelmingly, desperately emotional ending to any movie I've experienced.

Part 2 would be really great! One -not really but sort of- emotion: having false hope we know is empty. Like in Leon the Professional, in the end. Leon tells Mathilda that he will go after her and they'll be a family and settle down and have roots, while she and we know he won't. Rooting for him, but knowing that it won't happen, and the end it looks like he will survive but he is seen and ultimately killed, being given hope that he pulled it off and realizing that he won't.

I’m from the Bay Area, born and raised. I saw Fruitvale Station at a popular independent movie theater in Oakland. During the movie you could hear ripples of weeping throughout, and after as the lights turned on and everyone filed out to leave, we all looked into each other’s eyes, as if to say that all of us, together in this movie theater, are mourning the senseless loss of this young man’s life - a young man who could have easily been our friend, neighbor, coworker. We were no more than 5 miles from the Fruitvale BART station where Oscar Grant was murdered. I’ve never had such a collective or more moving experience watching a movie in a theater before.

Imitation of life is my Nan’s favourite movie and she made me watch it when I was younger and that scene of the daughter at the end sobbing screaming down the road after her mums funeral car screaming “that’s my mother” has stuck with me forever and always makes me emotional.

The most emotional movie to me is Requiem for a Dream. Far from a pleasure to watch but the sound and camerawork both FORCE you to feel. And it won't stop, it keeps forcing you to feel feelings you don't want to feel anymore, much like how you can't escape your own life's decisions.

I cried like a baby during the scene in Interstellar when Cooper returns from Gargantua and watches 23 years of footage from his son and his family! Christopher Nolan really brings out all of the human emotions in his movies! He truly is the greatest director of all time IMO!!

I can think of so many scenes full of such raw emotions - -Schindler's List when he said he could have gotten more -Eliza's children being ripped away in 12 Years a Slave -first 5 mins if Up -the declaration of love in The English Patient -Ray when Ray Charles brother dies and his funeral where he discovers he is going blind -Precious when she finds out she is HIV positive -Grave of the Fireflies where the kids get flashbacks of their mothers body being thrown into a mass grave -Life is beautiful where the father and son talk to mom over the speaker phone -Room where Jack sees the sky for the first time -Philidephia where Andrew listens to the music -the ending of Rogue One -the hug in Good Will Hunting -A League of their own where Betty finds out about her husband -the win in Amazing Grace - The Painist where he just wanders hopelessly -the baby's death in Trainspotting, -Brookes in Shawshank Redemption, -the mom finding out about her boys in Saving Private Ryan -The daughters death in Steel Magnolias -The Lovely Bones where all the girls meet under the tree -The plane ride in The Wedding Singer -Hook where the lost boys see he is really Peter -City of God where the little boy kills the other little boy -'I hate you God' in Goodnight Mister Tom -When Matilda plants the houseplant in Leon I could literally write a whole essay on this.

I saw Dear Zachary about 8 years ago at a film festival in Canada. After the showing ended, before we could sit back down to pick ourselves back up, Kurt, the director, and Zachary's grandparents walked down the stairs and stood at the side of the stage in front of the screen. We didn't know they were in attendance. Dear Zachary was already the kind of movie that I knew I could only see it once.
