THE SIDE NOTE - I found this report from Consumer Reports to be really interesting. After digging into each vehicle more deeply, it was pretty obvious that the most reliable vehicles also tended to be the most highly rated overall. Do you think this list is pretty representative of the most reliable vehicles...do you agree or disagree with any particular vehicle on this list?

My Mazda CX-5 AWD was voted number one over 26 other compact SUVs/Crossovers in safety, reliability and ride quality and I think it deserves a spot on this list over the less popular and overpriced CX-9. Glad Tesla didn't make the list, actually the Model mistake, I mean Y was voted one of Consumer Reports least reliable vehicle of 2021 and 2022 with a 1 out of 5 and a total 18 out of 100, which is being generous, my ex's model Y (she is a moron, beautiful, but sill a dummy) has already cost her $17k in repairs and its only a year old, pieces of garbage they are and should be avoided at all costs, which would be very high and they are so unsafe due to the awful self-drive and unstable lithium batteries and of course they are so overpriced, its obscene and offensive.

I got to tell you whatever the reason the Toyotas have been reliable for decades, where I am from in the Caribbean I’m Toyotas run so long. No one keep track of the mileage anymore and of course you could see it in the Middle East that’s all they uses

Honda civic should make some top spot, and toyota camry as well. But most of v6 cars will always be on top. 4 cylinders can't compete against 6 cylinders.

Consumer Reports "reliability" is not what folks think. Reliability scores at CR can get low scores while operating exactly as designed.

Anyone who follows the consumer reports vehicle reliability data is going to be disappointed. The company surveys their own membership, which is not representative of the general population. Additionally, they do not control for rates of response and therefore are likely suffering major bias because people tend to respond if they are exceptionally pleased or exceptionally upset. Finally, some of their data is dependent on as little as 100 surveys. 100 surveys for a given vehicle is hardly enough to determine reliability. The probability of bias in the consumer reports methodology is so high as to make the information completely useless. The JD Power data isn't a whole lot better either. Once again it relies heavily on consumer responses even though that isn't the entirety of its data collection system. Most problematic is that it's problems per 100 vehicles doesn't really break down by severity of problem. A glitchy infotainment system is somewhat less problematic than say transmission issues. They actually rank Kia as the most reliable of the mainstream brands, which is just ludicrous. Kia has a lot of transmission issues and if you get a vehicle with a transmission issue, you're basically sol because despite that 10-year hundred thousand mile powertrain warranty, Kia and Hyundai are notorious for blaming maintenance routines and customer behavior and refusing to honor those warranties.

This is why people who actually like cars, rarely refer to Consumer Reports. The higher up the rankings you go, the fuglier the vehicles get. That Lexus that they rank #1, has got to be up there with the Pontiac Aztek and the Nissan Juke for hideous looks.
