As opposed to the last 5 or 6 years with...who? Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, Lamarcus Aldridge, Draymond Green and Kevin Love. A few big names, but still, not a very large amount. At least we’ve guys like Siakam and Tatum on the rise right now, and Bam Adebayo improving as well

Jordan Dwiggins as opposed to the general passage of time when mvp caliber players like Jermaine O’Neal and Chris Webber don’t get brought up as generational talent because injuries robbed them of productive finishes of their careers or someone like Sharif Abdul rahim , who avg a near 20 and 10 for half a decade and some, is forgotten cuz he didn’t have playoff success.

That 2015 ECF made me so sad. I thought ATL was a true built team while Cleveland didn’t build anything: they were throwing money and buying and spending anything to appease the hometown hero. It was built vs bought, but alas the team that basically tried to buy a championship won. I thought that series was good vs evil ad in my eyes, the bad guys won.

Lebron era east allowed any decent team to get 60 wins. That's how weak that east was. Most of the teams on this list are Lebron east era.

Really. Some years 50 wins could get you 2nd place, teams slipping in with under 40 wins, imagine those teams playing out west. 2nd or 3rd in the east would struggle to make the playoffs most of those years. Shoot the west has a couple years where all 8 playoff teams won 50. Warriors missed the playoffs once with 48 wins, would have had home court in the first round in the east that same year.

LeBron was already an elite defender from 2004 - 2008. He just wasn't a DPOY candidate yet. He was just as good of a defender as Kobe from 2004 - 2008 even though Kobe was making all NBA defensive first team, while LeBron wasn't.

Chris Paul at 22 in 2008 was actually way way better than D-Rose at 22. He was robbed of MVP. And he was the best player in the NBA period during the 2007 - 08 season, both in the regular season and the playoffs. Kobe just had a much better supporting cast after the Lakers traded for Pau Gasol, which is why the Lakers, rather than the Spurs or Hornets or Jazz, made the 2008 finals. Put CP3 on the Lakers instead of Kobe in 2008, and they'd had won the 2008 Chip.
