Throughout the last 30yrs, I've owned 7 VW's (5 Golfs, 1 Passat estate 1.6tdi and currently 2021 Tiguan Allspace 2.0tdi). I always tend to buy ex demo models with only a few thousands miles on them. The latest one was only 2 months old when purchased in Jan 2021 with 900 miles on it - it now has 23,000 miles on it and no issues so far. The same can be said fot the previous 6 VW's I've owned, no issues whatsoever - keep them serviced and don't abuse them and they seem to be reliable.....have I been lucky with my previous 7 VW's ? I dont think so! Last points regarding new cars - too much electronics/software, which appear to be unreliable. - 'Lane assist' got switched off the first day of ownership - if you need lane assist you shouldnt be driving!!!

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is very unreliable. Glad you have it on your list! Buyer be ware.

yup, German cars have been in a downward trend in terms of reliability in the last couple of years, the 2023 Tiguan is the worst.

I’m always amazed how willing people are to pay for overpriced, unreliable, expensive to maintain German vehicles that are nothing but everyday vehicles in Germany. You even see them as taxicabs there.

I had two VWs and the second one had a dangerous delay with the transmission when after backing up, it delayed in engaging into drive (automatic). I took it back and they supposedly did something but what ever they did was not the solution. I even wrote to VW about the problem and they blew me off. I traded it for a Honda. Never again will I own a VW!

VW family cars,VW,Audi etc use DSG gearboxes, they are not gearboxes but shitboxes.

in my long life, are certain manufacturers which I would not touch, no matter the model. this is based on my experience and influence what I purchase, drive.

Never buy a Mk1 of any vehicle, always allow for initial launch improvements. However every manufacturer looks for cost saving mods to maximise profitability. My ex company had a cost saving team that examined new vehicles after initial launch who forensically looked for cost savings eg 3 trim fixings instead of 4.

Perhaps some of us are not sheet, that are swayed by each & every emotional opinion and/or what someone overheard and jumped to a conclusion. What are the facts supported by numbers, meaning how where those numbers out of 100 arrived at. Please show the calculations.🤔

I have two Chrysler products, one has 355,000 miles it and the other one has 306,000 miles on it. Ever since Chrysler fired a guy who went to work for Consumer Reports they have been giving Chrysler down the road.

@@MO_2023_ no same engines that came in the vehicles: 2009grand caravan, 1999 dakota I put 313,000 miles on a dodge spirit, I also had a 2000 charger that I had to put another engine in, but I had over 200,000

@@the-suv-guysad. I had a Durango in the 1990’s and loved it. Then we bought a Mercedes GL 450 and loved it but at 10 K per yearly checkup for the GL it wasn’t a cost we were willing to continue.
