I wouldn't think Billy Idol loses too much sleep over not accepting the theme son. He's still well known enough to have multiple different popular songs, while Simple Minds are known almost entirely just for this song. Even for people who haven't heard of the movie, they will still know (and love) this song. They will mostly still only know Simple Minds for this song. Idol has a good number of well loved songs. Missing out on this soundtrack won't play on his mind too much I think.

when will JOHN HUGHES' estate going to release the director's cut of this 80's teen classic??
@chiefscheider3 жыл бұрын
The only director's cut is the current version. As writer/director/co-producer, Hughes had full control over what ended up in the movie. Even though a bunch of deleted scenes exist, Hughes ultimately felt they didn't belong in the finished film.
@lustforkicks73929 ай бұрын
Another interesting fact about this movie: Judd Nelson was the last performer to be cast. After John Hughes gave Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall their roles, he was having difficulty finding the guy with the right look about him to play the role of John Bender. Out of reluctance, he gave the part to John Cusack, who just happened to be present at the audition. Right before the start of the film's production, as fate would have it, Judd Nelson happened to walk onto the set. John Hughes took one look at him and knew that he found his John Bender! He took the script away from John Cusack and gave it to Judd Nelson immediately. At first, John Cusack couldn't figure out why he wasn't getting that role, but John Hughes simply told him it was nothing personal, just that he didn't look threatening enough. Judd Nelson was perfect for John Bender! ~Dutch
@allycat74862 ай бұрын
While it's true that Judd was the last to be cast, John Cusack never had the role, although he badly wanted it & had auditioned for it. Judd Nelson also auditioned for it & immediately got it; Cusack was apparently very upset about having lost the role. Of course, I wasn't there, but this is the account I've always read about from people connected to the film. I do agree that Judd was perfect for the role & IMO was quite the scene stealer.

@soulreaperx7x3 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't think they did. Think about it. The only reason they opened up to each other and became friends was because that's all they had in the moment. Once Monday rolls around they're back to their old clicks because they don't need each other anymore. I'm sure they still look at each other differently than they did before but don't think they hang out or actually became real friends.
@sibongilepikoli97573 жыл бұрын
@@soulreaperx7x I sometimes imagine they don't hang out on Monday but through life's circumstances they find a way to be in each other's lives. And they find a way to meet up outside of school without any distractions. Like most epic friendships come about :). And they do this until they go to college or whatever then they have yearly anniversaries of the detention. And they grow together happily ever after. Very hopeful as you can see lolol. I just refuse to believe they never come together again. Such an experience is enough to leave a longing in you that changes the course of your life.

Then, in would come Judd in Full US Marine uniform with a chest full of ribbons followed by wife Molly and shut them all up.
