@@Mister_Mag00 🤣🤣🤣 I may hope your(removed) comment is as serious as mine!! Don't worry about my records, they are all in good shape. I clean them my own way for about 45 years and it works just fine. 99% of my records are still in their original inner sleeves and I use the cheapest outer sleeves I can find. None of them have any ringwear. Records are made to be played, not to stock in cabinets to impress your friends or viewers. After all, it's only plastic!🤪😜

I agree to everything except the sweep it. why should i mount another loose part that makes noises and increases the resistance of the plate? i know these brooms very well and have experimented a lot. does not need it, rather invest the money in a VC-S2!

Curious about the Vinyl Clean product - does the chemical mixture prevent (or minimize) skin oils from transferring to the vinyl surface?

Make sure to clean the brush off if that's happening. Honestly, just stop using it immediately. Not worth it at all. I use the audio quest brush and it works like a charm. Mofi inner sleeves also prevent paper sleeve scratches. Hope that helps

I just received my new Pro-Ject T2 wireless streaming turntable and the set up went easily, but the controller app will only allow me to stream to my Bose 500 speaker. I have 6 full size Apple HomePods that my dealer said would easily stream to, but the controller app doesn’t list them to stream to. Am I doing something wrong? Please help 😢

I guess the two items that really worry me are the playdough type material and the weird plinth mounted sweeper. I do not get the sweeper at all, it seems counter of common sense - especially if you are properly using your album brush. The potential drawbacks seem to outweigh any minute benefit. The playdough gunk may be great for getting items out of grooves, but I would be afraid it would transfer oils from your hand to the disc. I read some information on it, and it says it dissolves grease, but then also saw a review that it left a residue. Would like to see some microscope views of its usage especially on oil fingerprint marks and after it has been used awhile.

I bought a Pro-ject 6.1 turntable ages ago at a clearance price. One of the biggest wastes of money I've ever done...The azimuth setting was off, the plate where the cartridge attaches was not parallel to the arm tube, the VTA was off, the subchassis suspension springs were of varying lengths, et cetera. All the adjustment screws were made of pot metal and broke immediately as I tried to adjust them. Rather than supply the information to allow me to buy replacement screws of decent quality, a Sumiko rep informed me that I would have to buy a new tonearm. Eff that. The Rega with which I replaced the 6.1 has served me well for years with zero problems. Eff Pro-ject.

Would WD-40 work for lube?
@jasonjoyce7835
@jasonjoyce7835 2 жыл бұрын
No, WD-40 isn't really a lubricant, it's much more of a penetrating oil/solvent. For something in constant motion like a bearing, you'd want actual lubricants.

Nope...better shielded leads and a proper 3 pin ac grounding would be better. All these cheap dc psu s with 2 pins are terrible.
@Projectaudiosystems
@Projectaudiosystems 2 жыл бұрын
Our High Power it is a 3pin PSUs. 3 pin PSUs can have disadvantages too, as too many grounds can introduce ground loop hum. So not everybody would benefit from 3pin PSUs.

Why are your speakers on the same shelf as your turntable? The vibration from the music coming from your speakers will totally cause your stylus to not track properly & then none of this stuff your showing us will matter

Honestly, some of this stuff is just there for the gullible. I mean Spirit Level and the Lubricant? Just pop down to your local hardware shop and get a £2 Spirit Level and about £4 for a much larger tin of 3 in 1oil. Unless of course for some truly shallow desire to have 'pro-ject' written on everything.

@@Projectaudiosystems I've been down that road with no success. The fact is that your product has a serious design flow that cannot be fixed. Also, my turntable was plagued with IGD, from a damaged stylus that shipped with the table. The lid hinges was so tight the entire table lifted when trying to open it. It's been an enormous frustration right from the start and I feel like I was ripped off.

@@EmbryonicRobot That's sucks. I just got my debut carbon evo a few days ago and started to notice hum during my second listening session. After doing some research, I found that the TT might have been placed too close to another device. In my case I believe it was one of my speakers. After moving it further away, all the hum was gone and there was nothing but silence. For other people the issue ranged from desk lamps to chromecasts that are plugged into the TV. My only issue now is finding longer cables or some kind of stand for the carbon evo.

If you had watched the video further, you would have seen that our Damp it exists for exactly this purpose.
@emailatomic
@emailatomic 2 жыл бұрын
@@Projectaudiosystems Damp it make it any less stupid. You could eliminate all the expensive vibration isolation features like exotic feet, mats simply getting the turntable out of the room. Then suddenly zero vibration. But then why not some nicely sealed ceramic or glass lid which almost totally silences the environment in which your platter, tonearm and cartridge live. How about a lid where you can vacuum out the air like they do with fancy wine bottle sealers because sound can not travel in a vacuum.

Branded commercial junk. The reason for getting into Vinyl is experiencing the record with all your senses but taste. And it gives you a hobby to try to improve the flawed sound of vinyl. I am tired of these companies offering caveman level products. If you believe in adding mass as if it provides potential for accurate speed....(your wrong for starters.) If you think Acrylic has less potential to transmit vibration why wouldn't you choose glass, which doesn't generate static like Acrylic, is heavier and less prone to vibration as well as being easier to keep clean and is more resistant to scratching. But its really BS. Please note all these audiophile turntable companies use aluminum platters on their highest end turntables which is what you are running from. For real accurate speed, All the new audiophile companies are finally adding some form of quartz lock real time speed control to their turntables as an upselling point to previous years models. I applaud this but the truth is most turntables are spinning at a constant speed, which if you like you can test with a strobe. This feature makes it possible to play 45s and 33s with out changing out dumb nonsense like subplatters or moving belt positions But the caveman mentality in turntable design is perhaps best demonstrated in the tables which make you put your tonearm on the record and makes you take it off either because its dragging on the label or it just stops. Why TF do these turntables in 2022 not put the tonearm on and take it off. These features do not affect the sound since they precede and follow the actual playing of the record. But don't stop there. Its 2022 not 1955. Every turntable should have the capability to pre-scan the tracks and provide 8 to 10 buttons to allow you to play only the tracks you want to hear in the order you want to hear them and none of the tracks you don't want to hear. So you can just close the lid sit in your listening chair and hear the music the way you want to hear it without getting up. Features like this are easy and cheap and do more for a customer's music enjoyment than exotic mats, flubber, And may I say you could provide a lifetime of lube in the box one fourth the size of that bottle. If someone is experiencing turntable rumble from a failure to lube they should never have purchased your turntable. Lastly why isn't some company offering a linear track? It plays the records the way they were cut in perfect tangent..Linear track elimnates the need for antiskating and can play warped records. Something no tonearm system can do without pennies scotchtaped to the headshell.
