A few months ago I bought a pack of 3 for £1.00, amazing value, smooth low viscosity ink, really nice, black, red and blue. As this is an old video I guess you've had some by now. I've bought a lot of Linc pens in the past, a few tough to write with, but a lot with LV ballpoint ink, and gel pens. They pronounce the Gly like Fly for those Glycer pens. I also prounounced it like glisser before I knew.

The Bic M10 (not MIO) was actually designed in 1956, so it predates the Fisher Space Pen by at least a decade ;)

I remember seeing these in Ben Franklin in the '60s and '70s. Not sure if those were ever made in the U.S. but a ton of them were sold in the U.S. into the early'70s. Once eBay rolled around, I bought some - some made in France and others made in New Zealand.

Schneider 505 f is the best pen! I owned one in black colour and it was used for two years, first in my father's office then in my notes and then borrowed by my friend for her notes . It was very long running. We all liked it back then. Thanks for calling it an interesting pen. Cool video

Nataraj is amongst the earliest stationary manufacturers in India. They made pencils, erasers and sharpeners for a really long time without even updating their lineup or introducing something new. It's in these past 5yrs they made the much awaited decision to bring new pencils and try their hand on pens. I'v tried 5-6 different models from Nataraj, and they didn't dissapoint....all of them were great writers and we'll built.

The Schneider Tops 505, the Staedtler stick 430, and the Bic Cristal/Orange all occupy the same office pen market space in Europe. I love these European workhorse stick pens and my desk is full of them in all colors and point sizes. Europeans seem to have stuck with more proven ballpoint stick pens designs while the U.S. has trended toward overstyled retractables and gels.

We use to get stick pens at work made by an Indian company called Cello, which is quite commonly found at Office Depot and Big Lots. They write smooth as pure silk, and I think they cost like 9 or 10 cents a piece. But very basic in design. You should also show the Skilcraft US Government retractable pen. Made in Greensboro, NC by Industries for the Blind, but seen in virtually all post offices and US military barracks worldwide. Toughest pen on the planet.

Glad to see you tried out my suggestion about trying Nataraj pens, told you they're the best. One thing, they are available on Amazon through Indian sellers, you just have to be careful how you search for them. Type in Nataraj in the search box and filter it to office supplies and they'll come up, Nataraj makes general school supplies too so those also come up.
@ilurvemv
@ilurvemv 4 жыл бұрын
@@unsharpen also, they are refillable. You see the little blue piece at the bottom? It screws off so you can take out the refill. But it's not really worth it to buy refills unless you want to be environmentally-friendly, plus they're not that easy to find. I think I saw them online once somewhere but haven't seen them anywhere since then. Nataraj is a subsidiary of the Hindustan Pencils company, here's their webpage on Nataraj pens: www.hindustanpencils.com/category/products/nataraj-pens/ball-pens/

@@GS-cg3yn the ink is very runny so be careful not to store them upside down without the cap. But the runnier ink is why they write so smoothly. I bought a box of the pencils on my last trip to India but haven't used them since I was a kid living in India.

That Bic has a very 'fat' nib, rather the UK one. Very smooth pen and the nib, great for ball point calligraphy. PS, Natraj is Lord Shiva dancing in a flame circle, stood upon death or a figure representing it. My folks had 2, very heavy things for the size. CERN has a huge one with a light that casts an even larger shadow. A little ominous as is on the site of the LHC.

What are your thoughts on India manufactured pens and inks? For example, I know that Pentel has a factory in India, and I see Pentel Energel refills are super cheap on eBay, but it's coming out of India. The photos of the individual packages do not look like regular refills that are made in Japan (but prob at 1/5th the cost). Do you have long-term experience with India pens, and inks?

Tried the Bic ballpen and the design of the pen is not as good when it comes to the handle, it's because of the excessive edge as well as too low pointed pen, it has to be pushed hard in order for the pen's ink to come out. Nothing wrong with the ink, its quality packed,does not fade quickly. It needs to improve in those features.

The simple stick pens are unimpressive, too common to catch my attention. Of the lot, I wouldn't mind having the Zebra, Lamy, and Space Pen which I would consider to be the most rewarding to have as it is a metal body pen that is rare to find. I've got a Mitsubishi No. 460 ballpoint pen; its style and functionality is exactly like the Limex but its color is orange and black. Thanks for the video.
