@powertekusa, I have one of these 5.5w lasers. I have engraved into dyed anodized aluminum, but some colors do not work due to reflection. I could do black, orange, green. Neither silver, nor blue worked at all.

Remember, If you can't go higher speed because of shakiness, you can lower the power and lower the speed. It's usually a good idea to prioritize power level adjustments before speed adjustments. Also, take notes on your best settings for different materials, so you don't have to do as much calibration on your next project.

Friend ... I was trying to use the program to test my 550mw laser cutter and the laser light went on ... I hit a metal bar and the room lit ... I did not see it directly but I could feel the blue light ... do you think he hurt me? I did not have the glasses on ... it was only an instant and I know that it takes a millisecond to hurt ... I'm afraid that it hurt me.

There's a low-light model botton but it only helps to focus the laser,so can't turn it on for a long time .

i can get the laser head to move in the x and y( using the green buttons) , turn lazer on and off (using the blue buttons), burn border (using the gray button).. But it will not burn the test bmp images.. i have the same machine as you with Benbox v3.3.80 software. i used te same setting you used n your video as a starting point. can you help?

+Gary Packer mine works now only when I first turn my engraver but after I burn for a while it stopped working, but if u wait for the laser to cool of it starts working again

+faisal goldsmith your laser may be disconnected from your computer. try to select your com port from the left pop out menu, if you don't see your com port, try restarting your computer. I also had the same problem and this fixed it.

Hm, irgendwie überzeugt mich das Video nicht. Kann man den Laser nicht feiner/dünner fokusieren? Und warum zeigt ihr nicht mal hoch aufgelöste Bilder bzw. Gravuren? Gut, das Ding kostet "nur" ~500€, aber so ist es nicht mehr als ein teures Spielzeug. Und die 5,5Watt darf man vermutlich auch stark anzweifeln.

He kept saying 5.5 volts instead of watts. 5.5w is a 2.5w in overdriven burst mode as is the 10w and 15w.
