The reason why Pokemon with more than two types would be a bad idea is if somebody were to fuse a huge amount of types (to the point of where every type is used). The Pokemon would have no weaknesses, except for Rock.

Funny story, there is legit Pokemon fusions out there already, and they're called venustoise and mismayqueza. The first Pokemon fusion was in Pokemon gen one episode 10 and the second Pokemon fusion was mismagius in the dream realm and fused itself with rayqueza.
