What the heck? Okay, I'm going to completely sidestep the criticism of Yang Yang, other than to say I LOVED him in Who Rules the World...maybe that role was just particularly suited to him, being a very calculating and reserved character for the most part? BUT -- NO ONE can convince me that Dylan Wang can't act after Love Between Fairy and Devil! The scenes where he and Orchid switched bodies were comedy GOLD and he perfectly embodied this frilly little fairy girl for those scenes, which were a fantastic contrast to when he was the domineering Moon Lord Supreme the rest of the time (to 100% PERFECTION). No, just remove Dylan from this list, because you are WRONG.

This is beyond ridiculous! Dylan Wang's portrayal of Dongfang Qingcang was so phenomenal that it has become a yardstick by which similarly memorable portrayals of characters in succeeding blockbusters have been compared, such as Tan Jian Ci's portrayal of Xiang Liu in Lost You Forever. Perhaps Chinese Starlet thinks actors should overact or wear their hearts on their sleeves or provide slapstick comedy, all of which would have ruined the elegant and nuanced acting that has made Dylan Wang's portrayal of his characters classic. Who can forget the way Dongfang Qingcang played Orchid? The way he talked or held his skirts? The way he impatiently flicked a tear or two from his eyes? It was all done naturally, none of the overacting effeminate gestures that less skillful actors do to elicit laughter. But to viewers who prefer nuanced acting to overacting, it was much, much more effective and captivating. In case you don't know what nuanced acting is, here's a definition from Google: "Nuanced is an adjective that means complex, subtle, or delicate in nature. It is often used to describe something that has multiple layers of meaning or that requires careful consideration or analysis to fully understand." That is how good Dylan is.

DYLAN WANG?!! are you serious?? 🤔 Firstly for YANG YANG, several of his dramas that I watched, he has good acting skills, his facial expressions and the way he speaks in acting are not boring, many of his dramas are famous, how can he be said to have bad acting talent? 😔 Second for DYLAN, from his first drama, Meteor Garden 2018, to be honest, it was the first Chinese drama I watched. I'm the type who doesn't really like actors or actresses If their acting feels boring and doesn't suit the character they're playing. BUT, DYLAN PLAYED THE CHARACTER OF DAO MING SI PERFECTLY! I was surprised because it was his first drama and he had already mastered some of the acting skills that his seniors had. the second drama is ever night, let's put aside the storyline for this drama, let's look at his acting, it is his second drama and also his first action drama. I saw behind the scenes of this drama and I saw how totally he played this character. When the drama came out I didn't really like the plot of the drama but for the action skills that Dylan has I have to admit that it was very good. For those who watch this video, please don't swallow it raw. I really enjoyed Dylan Wang's acting skills in Love between fairy and Demon. Sure, he was a demon, he was in his comfort zone, but he also interpreted the female character and it was so good. People can improve. About Yang yang I completely agree that the he always plays the same characters. The good-looking, arrogant boy. Always the smarter and better than anyone else, but maybe he should just choose better the roles he plays. Also, people shouldn't criticize the hair or amount of make up. I completely disagree with you, especially when it comes to Wang Hedi. Aside from being cute, his face tells a thousand stories, one of the best actors I've seen lately (considering he's so young). By chance I watched the love between the fairy and the devil, and subsequently deliberately took to watch everything he recorded (I was not disappointed, he was masterful) Perfection in acting, and I can say this because I attended the academy and I know what it is necessary to know and have in yourself to raise the acting to a higher level as he does.

I take it that you have not either seen or read the reviews on Love Between Fairy and Devil (LBFAD) or you would not say that about Dylan Wang. You cited old reviews from his younger days as though they were still valid. In LBFAD he acted 1000 different ways, brought so much authentic emotion to the role, and was highly praised for his outstanding acting skills. He is fantastic and getting better all the time.

I agree that Wang He Di's acting was not good before love between fairy and devil. But his acting skill improved a lot in love between fairy and devil. Among his previous works before love between fairy and devil, the rational life is really good. Most of the the people didn't know this drama cuz meteor garden is more popular . In rational life, you can see totally different side of wang he di's acting. His career will be limited? What? His current work Guardian of Dafeng will be the great hit in future.

No offense to the person who created this, but it’s also the director’s fault who doesn’t know how to direct characters to perform. Dylan Wang is one of the best talents I’ve seen by far. He knows how to perform the villain, the hero, the heartthrob, and the boy next door. Plus his comedic timing has far surpassed any youngsters I’ve ever seen. Actors do need an acting coach.

I haven't seen all these actors, but I have to agree about Yang Mi. I enjoy a lot of her dramas, but I'm rarely satisfied by how she acts in them. Sometimes she does a good job, but it depends on the role. In TMOPB the role suited her, especially later on when she's supposed to be somewhat indifferent as an ancient goddess. Even then, there were times when she was too wooden, especially when she's acting with Mark Chao, who is a fantastic actor. Unfortunately she can't portray emotions naturally and her eyes come across as almost blank. In Storm Eye, she's practically a robot.

I’m not impressed with this list. Everyone has actors they don’t like but this feels more like just blindly following a list. Dylan Wang shouldn’t be in there especially getting hit for love bewteen fairy and devil where his character’s father murdered his emotional tree or root until orchid heals it. How exactly are you going to play a character that hasn’t had emotions since he was a child? I think he did a great job portraying that and when he plays characters that are supposed to 10,000 years or more who is going to be convinced that his character is as old if his voice sounds young? He did a great job when he had to play as orchid in the moon supremes body. He also did a fabulous job in meteor garden pretending to be the girl when they are teaching his character how to make sure Shancai wants to go on on their date with him. I liked him in miss the dragon and the other dramas I’ve seen him in. In his earlier dramas he does seem nervous but who wouldn’t be sometimes I don’t think it’s very easy to keep your own emotions out of a character

Why the hell is Wang Hedi on this list? Maybe you don't know his latest work and how he was recognized after LBFD. He not only won recognition from fans, but numerous awards for his performance. In addition to LBFD, his performance in Unchained Love and Look Up and See Joy were also excellent. Haters are obsessed with JJY’s headpieces and makeup. Much is her studio’s doing. She embodied Han Yunxi to perfection and won a Best Actress for that role internationally. She got gritty in Give Me a Pair of Wings and her acting is maturing i with every role. I hope she comes across some more challenging scripts with seasoned actors soon. She is also a natural at delivering comedic lines. Absolutely loved her in A Class of Her Own. As some mentioned, the director also bears some responsibility for the outcome of many scenes and should take a stand on a scene’s authenticity. Lastly, she is a multi talented musical artist which renders her a complete package all the way around.

PEOPLE PLEASE! For the record, let me start by saying that, I love watching Yang Yang, Dylan Wang, & Wang Mi and Yang Chao Yue and Yang Chao Yue are starting to growing on me. I have to admit that I don't know some of the actors on this list but for the ones I do know, I have to strongly disagree with this video. Firstly, you can't criticize what they are wearing, their headdress, what they do, or some of their expressions because they do what they are directed to do when they are directed to do so. If you have to blame anyone, blame the writers & directors. Even if someone dies in a scene, you can't just start crying because you think you should. You have to cry when the director wants you to and where it's written in the script to so so. As actors, they have to follow a script and a director. I am sure that they also don't agree with some the scenes or the lines they have to say but they have a job to do. So, unless they are given free licenses to adlib, they have to do what they are paid to do.

I disagree with you about actress Ju Jingyi. She is a good actress. If the directors and makeup crew are obsessed with her beauty it is not her fault. Unlike the other actresses on this list she knows how to portray multiple feelings. Her always looking beautiful and flawless in her movies even though sometimes it does not match with the script nor character is not her fault. The first role I ever saw her play was a villain character, and she delivered. I always say that if an actor is playing a villain role and she or he can make your blood boil to the point you hate them, that because the actor or actress played their role well and how the are supposed to. Sometimes you guys really don't know what you want. When an actress is extremely beautiful, you complain and say that it is because of her beauty that she is getting cast, even if her or his shows are hits. A lot of my favs are on this list but I definitely understand about Cheng Xiao in Lie to Love, during a really important scene she didn't really do enough with her emotions not showing during the emotional scenes. However most Yang Mi dramas that I've watched are pretty good and her acting is great, but I did drop Storm Eye early on, maybe it was her acting or the plotline in general.

I get it when people say Dylan Wang looked expresionless in Miss the Dragon because it’s literally the truth. But, I don’t get it when people say his acting was bad in Meteor Garden because I couldn’t believe that was his debut drama when I first watched it. He’s definitely not expressionless in that drama and was quiet good as a rookie actor. Other than Miss the Dragon, his acting in other dramas is so good especially in LBFAD. I enjoyed them. To the question of who is the WORST Chinese Actor (that for some reason is also highly popular) is one and only answer: The Chinese Imperator of Wooden Paralyse: RILEY WANG. I would understand his lack of skills, if he wasn't main or the second lead, but I don't understand how he is so popular (other than women like unskilled (because they feel better about themselves) handsome men with dimples). 1. Yang Yang - I half agree. He was the best for me in You Are My Glory (this was the first time when I had ANY emotions towards his male role). And he was rather stiff in The Whirlwind Girl, Love O2O and The King’s Avatar (this was interesting drama, I wish there was a second part). For some mental reason, he is too unappealing for me, so I couldn't even watch to the end of the first episodes of Who Rules the World and Fireworks of My Heart. But the problem with his roles is, that he is typecasted as "a cool high quality guy" and it looks that Chinese scriptwriters see emotionally unavailable men (with face paralyse) as "desirable". They are not. (That's why I'm into Fan Zhi Xin or Guo Jun Chen). I see this also with Xu Kai - he is really full of character in BTS (thank God that I've seen him first in Arsenal Military Academy, because I would drop Falling Into Your Smile without a second thought). I have a big problem with Xing Zhao Lin as this unavailable ML phenomena (I first saw him in Lucky's First Love, and it was my instant love towards Bai Lu, and vomit reaction that I have until now towards XZL). I physically can't watch You Are My Destiny because of ML, even though I love original Taiwanese version and I really like Liang Jie, the same with Cute Programmer, just because of ML (and this stupid: "cold like wood persona"), I can't watch it. 2. Angelababy - I've never seen her in any drama, I've only seen here in Keep Running show, I like her energy. 3. Yang Chao Yue - I've never seen her in anything. But I plan to watch Love You Seven Times in winter. 4. Cheng Xiao - I have been watching Asian dramas for 20 years, and she is the WORST Chinese "actress" that I've ever seen. She is simply blank. From her role in Falling Into Your Smile I remember only one thing, that she has psychically big eyes (that are emotionless). Why drama was called "...Your Smile" when she was blanky is beyond me. Even thought I was interested in the story of Lie to Love, I dropped it after a couple of episodes because there was negative chemistry between her and the other cast. 5. Ju Jing Yi - I've never seen her in anything, but there are 3-4 dramas with her that I have marked as "plan to watch". My biggest problems with Chinese dramas are concepts of redemption and motivation, they are killing people right and left in costume and historical dramas (that's why I'm highly unwilling to watch anything that potentially can make me into crying pulp, unless I AM willing to become a mess). 6. Huang Zitao - he was a part of my fist ever dropped drama called The Brightest Star in the Sky (after 15 episodes). It was a couple of years ago, and I only remember how shitty the script and characters were. I't made me exhausted and angry. So I had reservations to watch Legally Romance. But he was great in it. I cried with him. I laughed with him. I don't understand why he even is a part of this list. But I can't tell if he always plays the same roles, because I don't have anything to compare. 7. Yang Mi - as I mentioned earlier, I'm still not ready for Eternal Love. But I've watched She and Her Perfect Husband. Drama about two perfect human robots (attorney and financial specialist) with unbelievable luck. After that, I knew that the ML of Meteor Garden need to have exceptional talent for comedy and drama. And he was good. And he was even better in the script that I didn't know (and second drama that I've watched with him): Love Between Fairy and Devil. Why he is on this list? Some people simply must be jealous. Shen Yue - Gu Hye Seon lacked comp. to LMH (because she mostly was screaming in BOF), and Shen Yue was more girly in MG, but for me, she will always be a young woman from A Love So Beautiful that was willing to give up her obsession for a man that didn't respect her. I've watched him only playing these ultra stiff roles (maybe it was what directors wanted from him, but they were always lifeless). It's the first time when I'm seeing him as a sassy character, as a free spirit, and he is convincing. And his energy as a comedic character is so different. So this probably is the problem of the whole list made by the author of the video: directors typecast many of these actors and actresses. And we, as viewers, see the same hero, only in a different era and costume.

Dylan Wang does not deserve a spot here. His acting is steadily improving. From ‘Miss the Dragon’ to ‘Love Between a Fairy and Devil’ the was a huge leap. Meteor Garden was filmed 6-7 years ago. I especially loved the soul switches in LBFD. Dylan channeled Orchid perfectly.

Criticisms are nothing but one person's opinions. This critic seems to lack the ability to understand or recognize that a good script is important. Most scripts are the same in theme - storyline and direction along with producers play a major role in what the actors deliver as far as performance. For example, Yang Mi's performance in Eternal Love (2017) was superb. Eternal Love of Dream (2020) was another great production. Actors were able to give their characters full development because the story allowed for the actor to utilize an entire range of emotions. The cast worked well together as the main characters Empower Dong Hua (Gao Wei Guang) and Bai Feng Jui (Dilraba Dilmarut} complimented each other perfectly. Kudos to both casts and crews.
