Keep in mind not all passengers will want to talk during their ride, if they give short 1-2 word answers to these questions use this and their verbal clues as signs that they prefer a quiet ride.

Thanks Mike, as usual I like all the videos. They're great tips. For all others that watched the video & read the comments (maybe not all but some) Here's a nice tip as well... If you have a party of 3 or more try to engage with all of them however I find the easiest one to engage with will be the person sitting in the front passenger seat, while leaving the ones in the back to convers with one another. More than often they too will join the conversation you are having in the front of the vehicle..

Hi Mike ! "Cargo" has been on fire this week ! Awesome conversation starter ! Here in Rhode Island starting May 1 , UBER DRIVERS CANNOT pick up passengers from TF GREEN AIRPORT ! We can drop off , just can't pick up . Lyft pick ups are allowed. Should be interesting how many people switch to LYFT APP. THANKS FOR THE TIPS !!

I am a Uber driver and very often I drive american guys to work or any other place. It just came to my mind to look for Uber Coversations and I found this video which is great. Thank you very much

Mike. I always ask what ki d of work they do...everyone likes to talk about themselves. Especially ones with less than spectacular jobs. If you show interest it makes them feel better about their current occupation even if it's not their dream job. Sometimes if they are dressed well and they say they are accountant I'll say I would've guessed doctor or lawyer . Usually gets them to open up.

I drive with no sound on. when I get a ping I head over there and by the look of the passenger I put on something they might like before they even get in the car. Most of the time they will sit in the back singing quietly and not bugging me with annoying talk.

I also drive with no sound and after the rider jump in I raise the classic music very low,then I ask do you like music, 99 percent say yes.and they like the way I ask, as it is a favor for them
