The thing I appreciate mpst about this video is finally being able to put a name to all of those cable management items. There has been oh so many times where I am in a store or shopping online and have to ask/search fo "sticky hooks that hold cables" or something similar. This knowledge will be very useful after I finish my move. Thank you.

Having clean visual no cables visible in your spaces is absolutely necessary on the mental space. It took me several hours to do it just because I'm not great at figuring out all that stuff but I took an afternoon to like vacuum and clean up and declutter everything and yeah it is so wonderful to conceal all those cables. I like seeing the one sleeve of cables bundled and all that free space is such a great feeling. I am taking notes because I move out next month and will have to do it all over again but I do it once and it's all done :D great video! Looks like I will be buying cable boxes and zipper pouches lol

Your idea for the cable tunnel and power bar under the desk was a must do when I purchased my standing desk. One single cable seen to the wall outlet. Man, it's clean and really changes the feel of the desk area! I highly recommend investing the time to do this. It's a one and done type thing too. Worth it.

I like the idea of this cable tray that you said at the very end. I haven’t seen that before and I think that would be the most useful for my desk set up, so thank you so much.

By using scissors and a lighter you can make exit points on the woven cable sleeves. I use that for the power cables for my consoles and TV that way they all are in it together and then branch out when needed.

Thanks for this! And for your other videos as well, I've watched them all. We have pet rabbits, so we've hidden all of our cables using strategies 3 and 6-10. Strategies 1 and 5 (esp. the idea of hiding charger cables behind the desk using these) were new to me, and the cable conduits with multiple exists and junctions are just awesome!

I basically made a backsplash for underneath my desk with an extra piece of pine plywood I had laying around. I put all the cables behind the plywood. It goes with my decor really well and strangely blends right in.

Pouches with origami-style inner pockets are the most durable form of compartments for a bag / pouch. The company "Peak Design" was perhaps the first and is rather in the upper range in terms of purchase price, but in the meantime there are numerous other manufacturers who have adopted and copied this way of designing the inner compartments.

Another (semi-permanent) solution I might add it using (plastic/wood) cable duct skirting and cutting a small whole below the wall socket for the wire to enter and another at the exit point. Usually you can hide 2-3 cables in there.

Putting electrical outlets in closets seems like an obvious "hide-your-electronics" solution to me (especially for items like routers, cordless vacuums, etc.), but I've never see one. Would doing so be a building code issue?

Good video, thanks. Those techniques work well for basic cable management, but If you want to brign things to the next level there is a simple rule that makes a huge difference: "Do not let any cable, charger, or power strip to even touch the floor, even if not visible". Keep zero tolerance about it (but of course put alternative routing paths first). Use hollow sockets to stsrt wirh, and then add all the other techniques already present in the video...). Cables and power strips in the floor get dusty and greasy, they entangle with each orher like if they were alive, they make the floor difficult to clean (when not impossible), they are difficult to maintain and replace as tech evolves, and they are an accident waiting to happen. And it makes cables to look ugly unnecesarily. When done properly CABLES ARE BEAUTIFUL, they can even serve as an interesting decorative element, even a work of art when throwing some talent at them.

I'm more interested in how to arrange the cables because of their interaction with each other. For example, how to minimize capacitance and induction between cables to ensure stability. Of course while maintaining an aesthetic appearance.

realisticly for home use, you won't ever run into that. the only point I could see this be an issue is if you have a very thinly isolated cable for a super sensitive device like audiophile speakers pared up with a literal coil of PC power plugs. But really, if you buy the proper cables they should already be twisted and isolated in a way that makes their influence negliable

It costs something, but you can buy wireless models (as it appears Daniel he has on his desk). Otherwise, if you want to work with what you already have, I would just tighten up the chords as tight as possible, and not having long loose ends. You could also use some of the consolidation strategies (such as velcro or braided chord sleeves) he suggested to combine them and make them more attractive if they stand out too much.

I've seen people drill a small hole in the desk and put a rubber grommet in to the route the cables for the keyboard and mouse; slightly above where your mousepad would be (to somewhat hide the grommet). It can be combined with the cable raceway under the desk leading to a tower or a hub in the case of a laptop.
