The bulldozer was, in fact, on a rescue mission. The driver was a firefighter who heard their calls for help over the radio and, without any protective equipment, used a nearby bulldozer to clear the road of logs and debris. The people stuck were nurses and police officers who had stayed to help evacuate.

That last bit about the wild fire surrounding the house-that’s got to be worst experience. They kept their cool, so hats off to that.

It's been over a decade and i still get emotional hearing about the tornado outbreaks from 2011. I saw the storm that hit Joplin from my house in Kansas. I still remember my grandpa calling us to tell us Joplin had been hit by a tornado and that it was bad. I distinctly remember being on our porch and feeling the wrongness in the wind. I'd just graduated high school myself. I have friends who survived the tornado. My college helped with the clean up. I remember driving college friends through the path and telling them what used to stand where. I may have not been directly affected but i cry every damn time.

I lived about 30 miles south of Paradise , CA but I worked there as a care aid in a residential facility for developmentally disabled adults. Our house was on the edge of town. We knew about the fire but didn't think it was going to be as bad as it got. The morning the fire hit the town I was clocking out and going to my car. The air was full of ash and at 5am I could see the light of the fire in the distance. I went back inside and got my boss to look at the direction of the fire and she decided to evacuate right then. It took about an hour to pack up clothes and supplies for our 4 clients and we threw it all in the van. Got the clients in and buckled and my boss took off toward Chico where our main office was at. Me and the 3 other aids got in our cars and followed but the smoke was so thick at that point you could barely see the tail lights in front of you. A couple miles outside of city limits the smoke cleared but the traffic was at a standstill for hours with everyone trying to leave. We all made it safe but all of our residential houses were lost, along with most of our clients belongings.

I never knew a tornado made such beeping sounds! 😵

A friend of mine lost a cousin and the cousin's wife to a tornado that passed through their small town in Iowa during this period. These storms are very dangerous.

About the guy in Chester, Connecticut? Yeah. That's why you don't plant pines near a house. Or, at least, you don't let them grow too tall. (They can be topped.) They grow fast, about 1 foot a year, but they are also one of the softest woods and will come down easily in a storm.

I live just a few miles south of North Central in Kershaw county. We see plenty of thunderstorms but not so many tornadoes, so it was kind of a big deal around here. Probably one of the biggest natural events around here until the earthquakes kicked off a couple years later. Love your videos!

I thought the difference between Tornadoes and Water Spouts was down to how they form. Water Spouts start at the surface and reach upwards, while tornadoes form in the clouds and reach downwards.

2:06 I have been through winds of 100mph from a microburst which is far worse than a "weak EF0 tornado". Everything in my house and my house itself was fine. These were 100mph sustained winds for about 5 minutes

My parents live just on the other side of the canyon across from Paradise. How the fire didn't jump the canyon and take out Forest Ranch is beyond me.

With the first video, just because the winds are as strong as a tornado, does NOT constitute an EF0 tornado as he states, unless the tornado was confirmed by the NWS. Straight-line winds, maybe...but a tornado is a tornado, just wind, isn't a tornado.

Survived that fire in Paradise. Drove through the flames to get out and that was a nightmare, but the firefighters and police were such heroes. Thank you, God, for mercies large and small.
