Once again pressure, something is coming out and nothing is going in, so after negative pressure is built up, it will hold the water in place until air fills up the nothing and lets the rest of the water leak out. 8. Easy pesy, the vibrations of the glass create a pitch based on how much water is in it and how fast the vibrations come due to you rubbing it with water. Compare to squeaky shoes after a rainy day. 9. Since smoke is lighter than air, it tries to go above it. Since the egg is in the way, it will make gaps that will let the egg through. 10. This one is so easy IMAO. All that happens is the water and tablets create a chemical reaction which makes carbon dioxide which creates so much pressure it pops though the cup. You can do this as a substitute with dry ice and water, baking soda and vinegar, and something else lol!

The reason is called the Leidenfrost Effect: When the water touches the pan, a small layer of vapor forms around it. This vapor layer isolates the droplet from the hot surface and protects it from evaporation.

2:11 the reason this happens is because the water vaporizes so quickly it forms a layer of steam that acts to separate the water from the pans surface. The droplets glide around because the layer of steam reduces the friction to an almost friction-less state. The droplets combine together dude to hydrogen bonding. I suspect it doesn't boil off right away because since the water is in a hydrophobic environment the heat cannot be evenly distributed throughout the fluid.

For the can: the temperature drops very fast and so does the pressure so the ATM pressure compresses the can

the cans implode because the steam in the cans is hot, so that means the molecules are very spaced apart. when you put the can on the water it blocks all entry and exit holes the air or steam could fit through, which means when it's cooled back down from the ice, it make the steam molecules come closer together which creates a vacuum inside the can. the can isn't strong enough to sustain the vacuum therefore it implodes. :D NERD ALERT!!!

Hello CrazyRussianHacker. I am writting this because you had a question on 1:16. You asked why does that happen, so i think i have a good answer / expanation for you :) The preassure of gasses, like liquids is caused by the collision of its particles. The air around us is continually applying preassure, but we are so used to it that we are almost unaware of its presence. What we call this athmospheric preassure. Air molecules are continually colliding with both inside and the outside walls of the empty pepsi can. Because the preassures are the same, the bottle keeps its shape. If the air particles inside the bottle are removed ( which you did by adding water to the can and then heating it ), the preassure from the air particles outside the bottle causes the sides of the can to buckle inwards. ( which you did by putting the can in cold water facing downwards. So the air particles ouside the can pushed inwards and because there are no air particles in the can anymore, the can buckles inwards ) Hope this explanation was enough :D

When you heat air, it expands as all gasses do. If hot air in a closed container is rapidly cooled. the air contracts and creates a vacuum inside the container. Also, if water in a closed container is boiled, steam pressure is created due to evaporation of the hot water. When the container is rapidly cooled, the steam within the container will condense back into water and create a very strong vacuum within the container. Only the strength of the container will determine whether or not it will implode upon being cooled. Ok im only 12 but i know why the water is doing that i have science on my side. First its call the LeidenFrost Effect. Since its so hot the water evaporates so fast it make steam that is under the water droplets to make them look like there floating its really cool because the same thing happends when u put youre bare hand in liquid nitrogen im not saying go around and stick youre hand in liquid nitrogen but u can for a verry verry small peiriod the nitrogen is so cold and with such warm blood in youre body it evaporates quiet quickly you cant keep it on youre hand for more than a couple seconds. Any ways the water is so hot it evaporates right? So the water sits on the steam and thats why the water was doing that. Thanks for youre time reading this

the water in the pan is the leidenfrost effect, the steam is under the water making it seem like it's floating, but it doesn't last forever eventually the water will evaporate

I don't care about the scientific questions, I just watch it cause it's cool.

it happens because when we heat the can with water ,the water in the can evaporates and occupy the remaining empty space in can so the can gets filled with particles when we suddenly dipped in cold water the vapours gets condensed and creats vaccum so it gets crushed

The reason why the can implodes, is because when the can heats up the airmolecules spread out and the density of the air gets thinner. when you dunk it into the ice cold water the molecules wants to cuddle up together again, so now the air doesn't fill the void. it can't just suck more airmolecules in, because the opening is underwater so it just implodes.

The cans implode because air normally expands when hot, when you cool the cans the air inside cools and condenses then creates a big vacuum and implodes the can. Water does that by creating a gas layer of vaporized water underneath and floats on it. (We used to throw water on our wood stove and this would happen, it's fun.) ::Thumbs up::

I thought that balloon experiment would end up being ugly, but it actually ended up being funny... i''m laughing and commenting at the same time..

The imploding cans in cold water is an elementary physics experiment. Basically, you're placing a heated vessel in ice water where the hot air and water in the cans condenses very quickly, which creates a vacuum causing the cans to collapse on themselves. I've seen this demonstration performed with a 55 gallon steel barrel, with the expected bang and a very deformed drum. I'm sure there is a YT video out there to back this up.

The reason that the water droplets flew around instead of boiling in the very hot pan is because since the pan is so hot, it boiled the bottom part of the water drop as soon as it hit the pan, creating a cushion of water vapor (a gas) under the drop, keeping it from further boiling (at least for a little while; the effect eventually wears off) and reducing the friction under the droplet against the pan, causing it to slide very easily on the pan's surface.

What is happening at 2:25 is the Lidenfrost effect, which is where a surface is so hot that it flashes water to steam, so the water consistently floats on a layer of steam that is constantly being replenished, creating a virtually friction free environment for the water droplets to slide around on.

The can implodes as the gas begins to compact as it reaches its precipatate temperature meaning that the due to the vaccum created and the weakness of aluminum your can will implode rather quickly. Also the ice water is colder and the law of thermodynamics state that energy flows from hot to cold meaning that all your hot freeflowing gas is suddenly condensed as its heat is moved into the ice water. You most likely will find precipatate inside of the can.
