There's a lot of f'd up stuff you could do in Bloodmoney... Still the best Hitman game, mostly because the new ones are ridiculous in their in-game store and feel like malware is on your PC while playing them. Good game, fucking atrocious presentation.

They just activated the cut scene for MGS V recently on PS3. A group was able to take control of all the nukes and then deactivate them. No doubt made easier by the relatively few people left playing on PS3.

For Blade Runner, I shot her in the back as she was leaving and somehow ended up in her route. Ending was us leaving despite me killing her hours earlier. Very weird, a little variable they didn't consider.

"Congrats you found an oddheader easter egg, people don't find these often." At 12:31. It's only there for 2 frames (frames 15-16, if you're interested). I only found it because I was interested to see what the commands were during the Stanley Parable segment - I certainly wasn't looking for an Easter egg. (You can use "" to go backwards/forward one frame).

This one might be a little confusing to less familiar players, but if you've played The Stanley Parable, you might remember that in the ending in which you Unplug the Telephone, you actually end up in an alternate version of the Bosses office, and the door close trigger is quite a bit later than it is in the default form - this evidence leads me to believe that that ending was intentional, and it was rather an attempt at mimmicking the game being exploited, rather than truly glitching

If it is unintentional then I think it might have led to an alternate version of the ending where you do everything the narrator says as that ending is the only way that Stanley actually escapes so maybe it was originally another way to achieve that

The whole reason why out-of-bounds discoveries are interesting is that we often don't have the context or meaning behind them. Making a literal easter egg of a dude whos known for finding stuff out-of-bounds is the most boring easter egg you can do

The stanley parable ending could very well be working as intended. The game devs know full well about console commands and players using the console to check logs and find secrets, so it wouldn't surprise me if they intentionally caused errors to make it seem like it was really unintended. Like, there's a window you can walk out of by pushing up the office decor and it looks like you fall outside the map but in reality they intended for it and wrote dialogue, and it's acknowledged that the only way you know falling out of the window was intentional is because of the dialogue triggering, and if you didn't hear it, you wouldn't have stuck around so long. So knowing that it wouldn't surprise me if they had an ending with no dialogue to see if people really can notice if something is intentional without a blatant tell. Lots of the endings 'feel' like you're breaking the game, but since the dialogue triggers properly, you know you aren't, and it's all part of the act. I know if I had input on the game I'd make an ending without the dialogue and see if people can tell if it's truly broken or not. I mean, people seem to think the elevator to nowhere is 'broken' or 'glitched' or 'cut content' solely because the narrator doesn't comment on it despite it's odd mechanics.

Lending even more evidence to this would be the "player and narrator must be present" - Knowing there's no way to get there with the narrator, and then resetting the game. That definitely feels 100% intentional.

Actually, the "errors" in Stanley Parable are intentional. I actually used the console to enter the ending without bugging the narrator and those same events still happen. Edit: Additionally, the door trick was also intentional. If the game was legitimately bugging out there, the audio would have just kept playing. There was a specific trigger to stop the audio.

@@qmacaulay69 You only get sent to the serious room if you use the "sv_cheats 1" command (common source game cheat command). Standard dev tools and more advanced console commands still work.

I kind of assumed that all the endings in Stanley's Parable were meta endings as tropes to different styles of endings to games. The rocket one being the "devs screwed up" ending. I don't think anything's special about it. The secret no one's found is probably the unachieveable achievement.

when i learned about that ending in MGSV few years earlier, i instantly started my game and dismantled all my nukes because i knew that i wouldn't be playing this game for long enough to see this ending for real, but i didn't want to be the last asshole to have them ready and block the cutscene for everyone

Don't worry about it, when I made a nuke to get the achievement my FOB was raided and it got stolen by an anti nuke club of high level players (before I even got the achievement too), so I'm sure they would have found it and took care of it

And as you pointed out Odd, that ending of Phantom Pain probably existed for that reason; Meta commentary on Kojima's part, allowing the player base to prove a point before it dawns on all of us that we are exactly why world peace is unbelievable reality. Then we can sit back and realize something about ourselves as a species. What a great way to get someone to see the error of their ways/make a statement.

There's more to it, because you have to make a nuke to win a trophy and so as a player you have to have one to "win".

P5R spoilers (if you have any intention of playing the game, DO NOT proceed!) To start, Royal introduces 2 new characters to the game ("Kasumi" and Maruki). It is revealed during the last playable month of the game (January) that Maruki managed to (in a way) take control of the world and wishes to make everyone happy by granting their wishes. This creates a new reality and overwrites the "old" one (the one you played through in the entire rest of the game). This creates a moral dilemma and gives the player a choice; accept the deal and live in the new reality or refuse and fight Maruki. If you were to accept Maruki's reality, the unused valentine's day cutscene would play out.

@@herohuntr They don't have to be online. The only thing that changes when the opposing player is online is that they can actively try to fight you, as opposed to letting their defenses do the work like normal.

The Disgaea 2 ending has been known for quite some time. I can't speak for the other games since I don't play them much, but this one was very popular among the community due to how excessive of a 'bad ending' it was compared to the other bad endings in the series.

Hey oddheader! Thanks for bringing that elusive Dektora ending to light. As you said, this ending isn't normally accessible, as Dektora must be a Replicant and the third major character you visit in Act 3. If she's human, she just runs off. I've been digging through the audio files, and sure enough there was apparently meant to be a moment where Dektora, very aware that she's human, talks about leaving the "family that lied to her." Still have to put that video together, as well as another on Crystal. Thanks again for making it known to a larger number of folks.

The Wandersong ending reminds me of the worm telling Sarah not to take a path in Labyrinth. The Path would have taken her straight to the castle, but if she had not met her companions and grown herself as a person, should would not have been able to defeat The Goblin King.

I really love the idea in Bladerunner that it's all randomized, so you never know from the start who's a human and who's a replicant. It would be neat if there were other games that did something similar, like alternate realities. Maybe in a game like Skyrim, instead of your character happening to fit in whatever prophecies you come across, your fate would be random. Maybe you wouldn't be the Listener for the Dark Brotherhood, or the vampires succeed in finding Serana before you do. If we wanted to go crazy, we could even throw in a timeline where you are not the Dragonborn, but rather follow whoever is. All of them have potential for unique alternate questlines, rather than a straightforward power fantasy.

I thought the mgsv ending was part of the story... as soon as I reached 51% this cutscene played so I assumed i progressed the story but it turned out to be a supposed "big achievement" players around the world could get when they dismantled all their nukes (in unison tho...).

I like the concept of the Wandersong one (looks like a really interesting game btw, want to check it out). It's like: Oh cool, speedrun glitch that skips half the game... But then: Yeah you didn't get all the necessary characters and so the world is ending. Dark.

In the Stanley parable one you did it’s actually a very well known ending to the game, it’s called the launch pod ending. Just saw it recently when I watching all the endings for the game.

I think his point was to show that assets weren't loaded correctly or as intended, as opposed to the whole route being unseen or inaccessible. After all, the boss's doors closing on Stanley is a reference to a glitch in the original HL2 Source mod.

That Disgaea 2 one wasn't really secret. I remember getting it at one point. Pretty dark considering Disgaea is mostly light-hearted, but compared to datamining for possible hints of new endings, just switching the voice track is not really on the same level.

@@sourpatch6350 no it was: Final showdown had multiple iteration before it was completed, and this was discovered thanks to the music tracks (final showdown 1 is heard during rats in the library, and the one we hear today is the third version). There is also an unused blip located at the cemetery during the deleted chapter 7, and maybe that blip was used for a mission where jimmy went to gary's funeral.

Based on how self-aware The Stanley Parable is, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the developers knew it was possible to break the narration and intentionally included that whole path just to mess with people, even going so far as to fake the errors (or it was known sound effects would be unable to load but they trigger them anyways to further "sell" it.)
