Jays are such an interesting species of birds. A lot of them are very colorful. The majority of jays live in South America.

I’m fairly new to your channel but have quickly become addicted. Loved this bit of jay education. In the Texas Hill Country we have scrub jays as well as blue jays. Love their antics and how they get annoyed with each other. Heading to the Rio Grande Valley soon to hopefully see some green jays. We’ve seen them down there before but haven’t been in years. Literally makes you gasp when you spot one, they’re just so unusual.

Wow! I never knew there were more than one. I’m pretty sure I like the regular blue jays we have here in Indiana. I have a long time memory of them, mainly their sounds as a little boy. Sense I was three years old my Mom & Dad had a cabin deep in the woods in North Vernon Indiana. There with my three older siblings learned so much about nature. One of my favorites were the sound of the blues jays. I guess that’s why I love them so much today at 57 as it brings back so much peaceful memories ❤️. Thank You for such a wonderful narrated story. I loved how you even included the maps of what part of the world they were in.

My fave Jay is the bluejay, one came into our yard and was mimicking a hawk scream. It freaked us out, it was going on like that for 20 minutes, we went outside to see what was going on. We were very surprised to find a bluejay sitting on the bird bath.

I just adore and watch your videos daily! I can never get enough of these birds. It makes me want to be like you: Smart, loving birds, kind, curious, patient, sharing, and awesome! Thanks for growing my inspiration with birds! Though, related to this video, my favorite jays were the Beautiful Jay (get it?), and the Blue Jay. The Inca was also a wonderful one! But I do have a favorite jay that was not mentioned in this clip. It's called the Blue Throaghted Magpie Jay (my bad, if I mispelled anything). I believe it is a type of jay, but I'm not fully positive. I think you'll like it! Anyways, thanks again for not only inspiring me, but inspiring many others to learn more about birds and search for new answers in them! We will always be here, awaiting another world of wonder from you!

I've always found the "whisky jack", affectionately and more aptly called a "camp robber" to be my favorite of the jays. although not brightly colorful in plumage (in fact rather drab and sooty), the Gray Jay makes up for its dull and dusty appearence with bold and entertaining antics. many find their bravado to be obnoxious, some, an extreme annoyance, but too me, herein lies their charm. woe unto thee that is not carefully guarding their sandwich whilst eating lunch miles from the nearest road in the western montane states. :-)

I’m from Florida and we have a Florida Scrub Jay that was not on the video ..sadly their habitat which is natural Florida Scrub Oaks and Myrtle is being taken over by developments .They are a very gregarious bird and will even land on your lap and feed out of your hand if you are patient enough..I lived on a landlocked canal and had Southern Wax Myrtle shrubs lining the canal, they kept the gators out of my backyard and gave the birds shelter..since I’ve sold the house and moved, I was saddened to learn that all the Myrtle was cut down so that the owners could see the water also all the gators were caught and relocated.. I live in the next city over and have lots of bird feeders that get visits from Blue Jays but I haven’t seen Florida Scrub Jays since. :(

To me, our Stellar Jays are the most beautiful ones. I came with a much better name for these guys that let me propose it right here to the world: "Clown Jays". They are fun, beyond a reasonable doubt and most of time, the clowns of the lawn and forest. We are lucky to have many of them in higher elevations of San Bernadine mountain, here in Southern California but seems they are not seen much elsewhere.

KZfaqSearch ToxicVaccines ToxicFluoride, HIV HOAX it happens and they aren't the only birds or animals to do it. I touched on this in an older video about the odd diet blue jays. Even though they will and have done it it isn't nearly as often as some people make it out to be. In the last 7 years of closely observing the jays in my area I witnessed it twice so it really isn't frequent. Extensive studies back this up too. They are wild birds doing what they need to survive. I'm not about to hate on or judge any wild animal on this planet for doing what they do. Thats just my thoughts and feelings on the whole matter

I have a question about my black capped chickadees, there is a nest in my birdhouse from the female chickadee, but it has been 2 days since the nest has been completed and boths birds havent come back to the nest. I have heard them around the area. I am almost 100% certain it's the chickadees who have made the nest because i have only seen these two around mine and other people's yards. Do you have any idea why they have been gone for a while?
@LesleytheBirdNerd
@LesleytheBirdNerd 6 жыл бұрын
Have you checked the birdhouse lately? Do you know if they ever did lay any eggs in there? If they never laid eggs it could be possible that they decided it wasn't an ideal place to raise babies and started to look elswhere. I've seen chickadees and nuthatches do that before
