This is something that Wing and Seed fans don't get. Superweapons can only look cool if used sparingly, the Twin Buster Rifle and Kiras beam spam is lame as hell on screen because of how commonly they are used.

The SRA was smart enough to know if they made their Colony laser orbit the Earth any where there was a line of sight to the moon, a Satillite cannon could wreck it. So they always had the Earth in the way. Now the way the cannon works, you need that line of sight to the moon, then a clear shot at the target. So the suit has to be in the corner of a 90% angle. Which is too far away for the Gundam to target by itself, he had to sync with Pala's G-Falcon for a spotter. But for me the real insane thing is how good his shot placement was. First Shot is wide because it's a warning shot. Second shot does minor damage to the colony laser, proving, yes he's accurate at that range, he's not bluffing, and he can fire far more rapidly than the X's. Third shot cores the thing, and at this point Pala's taking Tifa away, so he's not getting fed data anymore.

Honestly (other than G Gundam) the only suits that could possibly match it are the Unicorn variations, though those are dependent on the pilot's newtype abilities. I would put the Phenex slight above the Qan[T] due to sheer reality warping powers, though we never really saw the Phenex ever use it's full power so take this with a grain of salt.

To be fair, most of those uses are directly related to the GN Drive's status as a virtually unlimited energy source.

GN drive is also an omni-propulsion device. One of the key point why GN drive is so powerful, is that you can just stick a GN drive to MS and it can move up down left right front back sideways without needing to add thrusters or propulsions. You can add direction to make it faster, but in general Its literal psychic movement for a Gundam and cheat out conventional designs. No wonder most of the people in Build Fighters and Build Divers series, usually use 00 design’s as one of the base because GN Drive and Trans-Am are stupid powerful. And to add bonus points, its technically renewable energy too lol

@@chunchunmaru07 Exactly this! The "contest" between Turn A and 00 Qan [T] / ELS Qan [T] (and more recently the Unicorn) often comes up, but IMHO it doesn't even exist ... or make sense. Of course it's tempting, because Gundam overall falls more into the "real robot" genre than "super robot" and there's always some more or less well thought out technobabble and clearly defined limitations and thus the franchise lends itself to comparisons. However those three suits simply left the science-fiction genre and mixed aspects of super-robots, science-fantasy and basically-it's-magic into their design. Also we don't see them using their full potential like ... ever? Because that's part of the narrative: They are so powerful, that fully using them would defy all storytelling ... at least when the entire story so far was built up on a mostly-science-fiction / real robot setting.

The twin buster rifle became more overpowered, with the addition of the drei zwerg(german for 3 dwarfs). For reference, Heero in the Gundam Wing(EW) fired his buster rifle with drei zwerg attached, that wipe out a battalion of Virgo MDs and their carriers. What's impressive, is that the beam even reached outer space. So imagine how powerful Wing Zero's TBR with the drei zwergs.

Nope. Turn A now has been dethroned. The strongest is Unicorn now. Turn A only has nanomachines that ended civilization. Meanwhile Unicorn has space warping powers. It can disable anything it regard as weapons so that means the MLB. Oh and its spacewarping is so powerful that it has the potential to collapse the entire universe. I'm not joking. The author of Gundam UC Harutoshi Fukui states this. The reason for Gundam Narrative to exist is to showcase just what would happen if Psychoframe tech gets used by the wrong person. It is simply too dangerous that they cannot let anyone, even the good guys use it because the cost for one single mistake would be too high. Meanwhile GN Drives and MLB can't even destroy a planet.

It doesn't register anything else, so the Butterfly wouldn't trip it since it's not reliant on Newtype tech. Didn’t the Unicorn shoot its way out the remains of a space colony cylinder when it was fighting the Sinanju? Couldn’t it do the same to a whole one? To be fair, the UC is not exactly the kind of timeline where people can just go around shooting at space colonies considering they’re usually not filled with just bad guys who shoot at birds, reapers, dragons, desert commanders, and gun toting circus performers.

@@MusicFan752 actually Vist foundation members controlled AE, the ACTUAL manufacturer of the RX-0 prototypes (Unicorn, Banshee and Phenex), Unicorn (RX0-1) was "given" to Vist foundation at Side 7 for "testing". BUT, AE and the Federation held the Banshee and Phenex for their own testings... Banshee was with the AE or part of the Federation AE had the capacity to order around, while the Phenex was being tested by the feds alone (who put a newtype pilot to be the test subject/"pilot" who caused it to go AWOL once the ghost in the machine that was said pilot went wild in the middle of the Unicorn incident, only to then disappear during the NT Narrative incident.... basically with ALL 3 test prototypes running wild, being hickjacked, pilots losing control or getting out of control whilst inside said MSs.... including one KIA test pilot HAUNTING the damn machine to the point of taking control of it... no WONDERS ANYONE, be Federation, Sleeves or AE themselves (after most of the Vist family members controlling it were "ejected" from the company after Unicorn incident) would STEER away from MAKING another RX0 type gundam.... if all test units had ALL those problems, the only conclusion is to consider the machine unsuitable for production, no less the Jestas being still so costly despite the MANY downgrades from the RX0 prototype baseline it was quickly discontinued.

While the Vist Foundation spearheaded the project, it was more of a collaborative effort from both the Federation and Anaheim at the beginning, THEY built the Unicorns, what the Vist Foundation did was make sure that the Federation couldn't use the La+ Program and that any tests regarding it were to be destroyed. Along with the fact that they were just going to hand Unicorn over to Neo Zeon.

Anaheim/vist still have capacity and the only that has mean to make unicorn type gundam. But if banagher is show up piloting mobile suit that has Unicorn technology that mean Minerva faction and Anaheim/vist broken the deal with federation. It may cause Anaheim under federation scrutiny once again and reconsidering Minerva faction as enemy. Something that Minerva and banagher want to avoid. The same thing applied with federation. If they show up using any technology from Unicorn, it may give Minerva faction justification to reactivate Gundam unicorn unit 1

wow late to the party but glad to see wing zero getting love here as for my 2 cents on the whole takes down a colony vs the bunker first and foremost in space there would be no resisting forces for ZERO to deal with secondly you cannot fire such a powerful weapon with out drawbacks in earth the gravity on top of ZERO being heavily damaged makes alot of sense. and unlike most if not all the beam rifles in grandam the twin buster rifle in WING ZEROS hands can not only be fired as one weapon or in shots but can be continuous fire mode in both narrow and wider beams

@@shiroken0 To be fair I think they made it as such to illustrate what the Gundam scientists were saying about the dangers the Wing Gundam Zero posed. Not only in a novice's hand like we saw With Trent. But in the hands of an outstanding pilot as we saw with Heero and Duo. At least with the Zero System it wasn't a mass producible weapon system like some of the others we've seen in the franchise. Looking at you Gundam X, I love you but you're still guilty.

@@jakealter5504 I mean yes. But it's a big target with multiple areas where it can be easily destroyed. Just shooting the bridge is enough to disable most battleships. After that just aim center mass and you'll probably hit something that will make the whole thing explode whether that be the ammo storage or the generator powering it. Char didn't say "Is that mobile suit equipped with a battleship-class beam cannon?!" for no reason.

Huh. That could actually be the reason that the Garencieres Junior only carried the one mobile suit. It needed the room for all the extra arms needed by the Silver Bullet Suppressor.

@@RePhantomz The Gundam Mk.II was outdated so it was never gonna last. Also, the arm itself looks very strapped on and easy to damage. Say a bullet grazed one of those pipes that's jotting out. Arms is instantly weakened and at worse disabled which prevents the Beam Magnum from being used. I also imagine the size makes it difficult to move around with. Knowing that, the replaceable arms gimmick is the smarter solution.

Still a shame that OO Qan[T] never sortied with its Full Saber weapon loadout

But the biggest drawback of the G-Self Perfect Pack is the fact that it still uses power from a photon battery. The features and the output may be insane but the battery drain rate is also insane. In the far future, THERE ARE ONLY BATTERIES TO POWER EVERYTHING, WTF!

The Beam Magnum can't be handled by any other MS besides the Unicorns themselves. The Delta Plus broke its arm with a single shot and the Silver Bullet Suppressor is also an example. But in the Return of the Lion manga, Banagher modified a Gundam Mk-II's arm by sticking two Doven Wolf arms together with a hydraulic mechanism that enables the arm to withstand the recoil without breaking in every shot.

@@EXADragaon Now that you mentioned that, It's strange how the Suppressor only replaces its forearm with each shot when the recoil affect the shoulder as well. Perhaps those thrusters on the forearms help mitigate the recoil somewhat and that only using one pair of thrusters can counteract the Beam Magnum's recoil but a single forearm unit cannot handle the forces that well, that's why Banana used two strapped together on his Mk-II. Edit: apparently The Mk-II was made before the Suppressor. I guess having replaceable forearms is better than basically strapping 2 full arms together.

Well, you also have to consider what the practical range for targeting is. Heck, at that range, you're possibly going to run into the issue of light speed transmission delay from your forward observer.

Theoretically, If you mean travel range in an “empty space,” then it will absolutely travel in the direction that it was fired forever without anything stopping it until something intercept its path.

Oddly enough, in games, wing/zero's buster rifle is one of the OP weapons. I'm looking at you SD Gundam games.

This fact is highlighted in Endless Waltz actually. The moment before that final shot on the bunker when they give you the cockpit view, you can see the various bits of data, which includes reactor connection and power outputs for the twin buster rifle.

@@kivulifenrir Its power outage is rather inconsistent since the TBR while it can annihilate colonies doesn't seem to be strong enough to penetrate a nuclear bunker without literally tearing itself apart due to the recoil of the weapon itself.

If I'm not wrong, firing TBR at full power has negative effect on wing zero integrity so heero only firing TBR full power only at large target and if situation demand so. And because how colony constructed, TBR has easy time destroying colony compared to nuclear bunker that has many layer of reinforced protection.

@@BeyondDaX it only tore itself apart after a duel with Altron, atmospheric re-entry, crashing into a lake, and being submerged at the bottom of said lake for who knows how long. The frame was already compromised. Hard to say how it would've fared if it were in peak condition.

@@MaxHDAvenger Yea plus the Atomic Bazooka is limited on ammo while the Nuke Launcher can be reuse by fitting it with new nukes. Also the GP02 was stolen with only two nuke loaded so it has to be conservative on ammo.

People also need to consider the Rifle/Pistol/Holster bits of the Zabanya, they can combine to fire one or more large beams. Also their combined firepower exceeds that of the Strike Freedom.

I'd like to add to this the sound design of the weapons all around, everything in the seed series had a great sound to it so you could also identify weapons by the sounds they made.

CE would've been THE best gundam series had it not been for the scriptwriter and director (wife and husband, respectively) screwing about. Them getting called out on it just made the wife lash out on the entire production team. She was so petty that she destroyed the entire thing and that's why we have such a crappy SEED Destiny. Even though Gundam 00 restored the original Destiny timeline, it was of a different rendition of the gundam universe. Imagine, having another series and video games being closer to the source material than the canon. Oh, wait. this seems like the norm nowadays.

So we were robbed of the 2nd part of SEED and the entire Destiny.

@@wanderingbufoon I agree. Seed has basically the best potential out there. It's conflict is the bloodiest because it is literally between two genetically different humans. So the reasoning that "strip away the nationality, religion and skin colour, you'd find that we are all the same," can't be used anymore because one side is physically different from the other. It also has the most real world accurate tech and that says a lot considering 00 was supposed to be our direct future instead of the other others that are alternate timelines. A lot of it based on real world science such as the PSA is based on reactive armor, different weapons for different purposes (normal beams lose power underwater so they have to use other weapons) and hard science (such as their Dragoons couldn't be used in atmosphere). Heck, while people would say CE tech is weak due to using batteries, but that's because it is the answer to the often plothole inducing, walking WMD of the nuclear reactors. Seriously, those thing function depending on the plot. Sometimes they got shot in the chest and don't explode with nuclear force, or they do for plot purposes. And yes you are right, all those potential got wasted by the directors that didn't fully understand what they had. Seriously, the director didn't even know that positron cannons shoot anti-matter and therefore, it would be impossible for Mu to survive the shot from Dominion. It's a tragedy really.

TBR not really that versatile. If I'm not wrong, because TBR feed directly into wing zero reactor it capable shot multiple times but it also has negative effect into unit integrity. Because of that, even though wing zero capable firing full power TBR continuously heero rarely do that. He always takes time between shot and never at full power. Weirdly enough endless waltz is the only time it shown firing TBR at full power without limiter badly affected wing zero integrity (granted wing zero already damaged)

@@yoshuasidharta4685 Well, I doubt EW Wing Zero was even using full power. Since a full power shot can 1 shot an ENTIRE colony. While in EW, it's a mere bunker. But Wing Zero's damaged state cause to only fire it with limited output since the recoil from one full power shot can tear the suit apart. But even when not full power, the TBR still pack enough punch. And Heero not using full power all the time may stems from the fact that he doesn't want to kill needlessly after he accidentally killed twice.

@@yoshuasidharta4685 The TBR has a variable power setting. making it the perfect in between of Beam Magnum and Twin Satellite Cannon. It doesn't go as high as the TSC, but I think for the most part it has more than enough power for most things you would need it for.

I think part of the problem with the TBR is that outside of Endless Waltz and blowing up a few space colony's its power is never really really demonstrated in the series. Especially once Heero has it. He's not gonna go around blowing up cities or colonies and the like. Sure, maybe there's something to be said about the TBR being able to function while in atmospheric re-entry and still be able to have 100% accuracy AND be able to take out a target the size of a city, but...... I think weapons like the Satellite cannons showcased their destructive power better in their respective animes.

@@kyrudo If I remember correctly, Dekeem Barton mentioned the bunker being ray shielded. So that bunker has the defense power equal to the power of the Mercurius's planetory defensor(since it withstood at least 3 shots from the Wing Zero's TBR). Look at the part where the shot from the TBR hitting the bunker. You'll notice some crackling effects after it got hit

Supernova? Not really. Its strong but but a lot of bigger beam weapons from UC can match it. Even the double X satellite cannon rivals the twin buster rifle

Honestly it'd be a three-way between Qan[T], Phenex, and Turn A. Though I'd probably give it to Phenex by just a little because it can actually warp space on a large scale. Qan[T] essentially quantum jumps from place to place and Turn A can destroy all machines but isn't actually a reality warper.

Yeah im wondering why it wasn't mentioned too unless he's planning on making a video specifically about it. If I had to guess, maybe because it's not as strong as the twin satellite cannon, however, considering the weapon requires no external power and can be fired multiple times, gives it a pretty distinct edge over the satellite cannons. (as well as the FAZZ's cannon)

The thing about the FAZZ was, didn’t the Hi Nu have an even stronger version of the weapon? With the Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher. So strong it needed a battleship to power it and it tore through an asteroid. And I do feel, the FAZZ is stronger than the Twin Buster Rifle. But the versatility of the TBR is way higher.

Would say it is better than the Satellite cannon for the simple fact that it doesnt need the moon to be fired.

@@zettovii1367 plus it doesn’t have as long of a charge up time, it can either fire a burst shot (which would still be pretty powerful) or it can take around 1-2 minutes for a full power shot

If you didnt mention Eden's Zero I almost mistook it as Fairy Tail. I mean their designs are technically the same with a different colour scheme. BTW Eden's Zero season 2 is out now.

They're probably equally effective when the Twin Buster's targeting precision is taken into account. But the Satellite Cannon is literally a weapon of mass destruction. It's like comparing a railgun with a nuke. They're on the same level in terms of power, but you wouldn't use them in the same circumstances. If you need to eliminate a single huge target, the Zero's TBR is ideal. If you want to wipe out an entire battlefield, the GX's Satellite Cannon can't be beat.

Add the drei zwerg on the TBR, and it makes it even more powerful. Heero in the Gundam Wing(EW) fired a shot from the buster rifle with drei zwerg attached. The shot wiped out a battalion of Virgo MDs and carriers. The beam from the buster rifle with the drei zwerg, even reached outer space. So imagine how powerful TBR with drei zwerg is.

@@vel0xraperio there’s only the downside of needing a satellite link for the satellite cannon to work, the twin buster rifle doesn’t have that problem and can still cause the same amount of damage (it would just take multiple shots)

@@jakealter5504 The G Falcon solves that problem. You can pre charge the DX three times and the Falcon will hold the charge till necessary.

@@user-ge8np2iy4g the issue isn't with the arms, it's with the power of the rifle. The arm could be strong enough to withstand the recoil but it would wear on the frame due to the recoil traveling through the entire mobile suit. Thus, the frame would be damaged and the entire mobile suit left inoperable under ideal conditions. If you could make 10 disposable arms for a mobile suit at a fraction of the cost to replace an entire mobile suit while shooting a beam rifle with the force of a thousand Suns, then the most cost efficient method is B.

In the movie the ELS moon is, about the size of Earth’s moon. 00 Qan[T] feat is crazy. The area of the ELS moon, the 00 Qan[T] cut was massive like maybe a continent or country size. Our own Moon is 1/4 the size of Earth.

It would be hard to calculate but supplemental information did state that the Qan[T] could have fought off all the ELS by itself because it could have ran for a straight week without rest. And considering Setsuna's newfound "evolution" before hand as a true innovator it's something that could have plausibly happened. So the Qan[T] had near _limitless_ power at it's disposal.

@@TARDISES its hard to say cause time scale was 00 is probably the most futuristic set Gundam Series in the series. So just by inferring that also you add to that the highly advanced alien tech… its a toss up. I think ELS Qan[T] would probably just beat any other suit just cause of how insanely far into the future its set

the colonies in Wing are puny small, 1/3 the size of the colonies from every other universes, the Wing making a big hole and triggering a chain explosion is not an impressive feat considering a big rock could do the same.

The tallgeese 3 mega cannon is probably around the same or lesser output power with that the head mounted mega particle cannon from full armored ZZ gundam.

heavy arms wouldnt fit the list. its allot of multiple weapons not one single power weapon. but wings is more like a mega particle and shoulda been compared to ZZ mega launcher. idk which out of those is stronger

A single shot GP02 bazooka shot isn't much compared to a nuclear payload of multiple nukes from a Nuclear striker pack from Seed. The moon funnels are probably around the same as the Sazabi funnels and those Titan funnels are probably not as advanced as the ones from the Hi-Nu but then again who knows.

@@BeyondDaX Nah... GP02 atomic bazooka is tactical nuclear warhead with fire power comparable with strategic nuclear warhead, while multi striker pack is what definition of tactical nuclear warhead. No less no more... So in term fire power quality Atomic bazooka win, but in term power of quantity multi striker pack win. Understand? And there's the BIG different between funnels in nu and sazabi with funnels in moon Gundam. And that is they can't be used as Pshiycal weapon when moon funnels can. In term of durability also moon funnels win since it can stand explosion and beam head on. And proved with it survive against the destruction of doors Gundam with half of it reach moon moon colony along with door Gundam head.

Can't find the official power of Unicorn Beam Magnum. But... - ZZ double beam rifle, power rated at 21.2 MW total (2 x 10.6 MW) - Zeta Hyper Mega Launcher, power rated at 8.3 MW. Not sure which one is more powerful Magnum or Double rifle.

@@RainStorm148 If you look at the model kit, the 1/144, it says the beam magnum shoots a beam that is roughly as strong as a shot from the Mega Bazooka Launcher. It's in japanese though and I don't think the kit has a translated version.

Its becauae people developed anti beam coatings. And basically put it on everything. . . .ones. cuz expensive to repaint

I always looked at it as you couldn't mount a gun that powerful on anything smaller than a Battleship. The ships could still mount larger guns, but MS couldn't power even the smaller beam weapons before the Gundam.

It's because when first time char and his team encounter Gundam and it's beam rifle, it destroy a zaku in one shot. That time the only beam weapon that capable one shot zaku is battleship beam cannon. And beam coating only capable withstand shot from beam rifle. A shot from battleship cannon still easily destroy mobile suit even with beam coating unless they have I-field.

At the time it was developed, it was as powerful as the cannons on both Fed & Zeon ships. The White Base's hyper mega particle cannons raised that bar basically immediately, but their low deployment numbers meant that the Gundam's beam rifle was used far, far more often. By the end of the OYW, revisions would be more powerful. It was quickly outclassed, but until beam reflective tech, iFields and beam shields came along, it was still enough to ruin the day of anything it shot at.

Dom Tropen and other variants' 880mm raketen bazooka? 680mm artillery gun of the Xamel? Of course, (one of) the tops would be the GP02A's atomic bazooka.

I think he addressed that in the video. The best solid weapon gun is Dainsleif and the best missiles are nuclear missiles.
