You made me smile! It's great to see younger gardeners making videos! Have you heard of Huw Richards? He started his youtube channel about the same age as you (I think.....) You guys are inspirational. Companion planting beans with the corn and pumpkins is great too. They are nitrogen fixers which help the corn and squash. The corn supports them as they climb. It's known as The Three Sisters.

I’ve watched Huw Richards! I LOVE the quality of his videos and that’s what I’m striving to do. Offer quality info paired with super high quality videos! I’m trying my best and really appreciate your positive support! The three sister companion planting is a great idea! Thanks for the great tip 🙂

Agree with other comments, you did a great presentation….clear, concise and adding in the “why” of planting in July. I’d recommend you add your location or zone as well - no cool Sept weather here in central NC. Keep posting! Note - your thumbnail was perfect and targeted the YT algorithm perfectly. 👍🏻

From what I understand, since we’re eating the actual seeds, corn that cross pollinates will affect the eating quality THIS YEAR, not next year.

It may change the complexity of the corn slightly but overall, I don’t think it’s something to worry too much about. I was just going into the bigger issue of saving the seeds and explaining that part of it. You may be right though. I’ll have to do my research! Thanks for watching 🙂

@@BeebeSeedCo. yes it changes seeds, and corn that we eat are the seeds. I’ve heard other KZfaq gardeners complain about how a farmer’s field corn crossed with their sweet corn and rendered it inedible. The key is that corn is a seed. Besides, most sweet corn is hybrid seed, so you wouldn’t be saving it and hoping for the same result regardless. Anyway, I’m hoping I spaced mine out far enough…they don’t seem to be growing vigorously yet.
