First personal computer "K-202" was invented by Jacek Karpiński in 1970 and it was much faster than IBM PC that was built 10 years later. Inventor didn't get the patent law because russians said that "if it was possible to make it then americans would do it years ago" :)

Iqnacy Łukasiewicz. Look him up. He created the petrol industry, invented the rafinery process and was the one that discovered oil for science. Hell, the first petroleum rafinery was build in poland. It was used to power kerosene lamps - he invented them too.

Poland was the "high society" of Europe preceding the mid-1800's. The learned people and the inventors were everywhere. It is amazing that a century of closeting by communism is enough to wipe out the memory of these advances and facts. Even the author of this video is unaware of basics like the dirt that Germany threw upon humanity wasn't done in their own "back yard", but across the proverbial "tracks" (similar to Russia's failed nuclear power plant Chernobyl being in Ukraine, not Russia). No, the depth of history is maimed by the ignorance of the greatness that once was enveloped by Poland. Art, Technology, and human advancement flourished at the hands of the Polish, yet nobody remembers. Quick fact: the first physical structures built in the USA, during the time of the discovery of the "New World", where build by Polish carpenters. It was the Polish, maritime carpenters on the ship of William Bradford (Mayflower) who built the first "buildings" on the North American continent.

bobocpe 1st constitution in Europe was of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, not Poland ;) that is what is written in textbooks and on the internet, so, maybe it's time to think of history not chauvinistically

The Fathers of "Consitution of May 3" were Polish. The Constitution DID NOT regulate the Commonwealth. This happened in October the 20th. It's called "The Engagement of Nations"... Some historians even belive, this document brought to an end the real union between the parties and created one... Respublica Polonia (the Republic of Poland).

" "Poles" chronicles the saying that this name comes from "Polo Arctico" or "Children of the North". ;-D The Persians call us "Lahs" and our country "Lehestan". The Turks call us Lehs and our country "Lehistan" We as the founders of our state consider the "mythical" Lech King. And our nation has a few thousand years ;-D I know it's funny ;-D ;-D. But archaeological finds such as "Carpathian Troy" or the oldest image of a circle in the world on the "Waza z Bronocic" (Vase from Bronocice) and genetics "haplogroup R1a1" make it no longer funny ;-D ;-D

Did you know that the father of petrochemical industry was Polish? Ignacy Łukasiewicz started oil excavation on industrial scale and created refinery in Bóbrka. The first one in the whole world as far as I know. He also created oil lamp (1853!) . This lamp was first used during night surgery in hospital in Lwów (back then it was Polish city under rule of Moscow).

It was very refreshing to hear those facts about Poland from outside man. I love to being Polish, I love that my little son can raise in country like this. Polish people are very critical to each other but only inside the country, if there's any danger we can work together. Poland is always torn between east and west Europe, we are the poorest of the West and the richest of the East :) Nice thing is that in early middle ages and so Poland (with Lithuania) was the biggest and the greatest kingdom of the all Europe! Thank you for your video and I hope to know more from you about other countries :)

Great content! Keep it up and please do more facts about Poland. You could look into the cinema (Wajda, Polański, Holland), history (No. 303 "Kosciuszko" Polish Fighter Squadron), science (Copernicus) or architecture (the city of Zamosc - Padova of the north, Warsaw Old Town - near-total reconstruction, Wieliczka Sat Mine) or anture (Bialowieza Forest). Btw. UNESCO session is actually taking place in Poland right now. :)

Poland has Muslims called Tatars. They were given land in Eastern Poland from Polish king many years ago for protecting the country against Ottoman and Russian invasions.

did you just called the great duchy of Lithuania a province of Poland, are you serious? this is so rude for a lithuanian, you have no idea how much that was a union not an occupation, which is like obvious by looking into a map because Lithuania was way bigger at that time, also, Livonia, wasn't a province either because technically it belonged to Lithiania

Yeah, but Poland had bigger balls and stronger army so we owned you and made your country a part of Poland with your approval cause you loved us. As far as I remember from history first it was Polish-Lithuania but after some time it was only Poland till the partition of Poland by 3 bastard countries.
@mysteriousdoge1298
@mysteriousdoge1298 7 жыл бұрын
And it means you liked to be a part of Poland then cause we were a mighty country back then when we were united. Now Poland is weak and Lithuania is even weaker so Idk why you're such butthurt about that great time in our history.
