LevelCap is going through a video game heart break and it shows tremendously

Player progression, working net code, 'legacy features', cost, community, working on older pc's, weapon balancing, character customization... just about everything except graphics

another thing in my opinion is the heli repel rope, because there are no parachutes this adds that a unique way to still deploy your teammates from a helicopter, which i have not seen before

It's mind blowing that the three guys made a game that takes Steam by a storm. LevelCap makes a really important point that not everything is about graphics and framerates. Battlefield sure have Frostbite Engine, but to sacrifice high end graphics for more than enough content to start with is a bold move, and transparency in particular is pivotal to the support of the game.

Battlebit's detailed weapon stats and customization feel way nicer than 2042's experience. Plus the fact that there's an actual shooting range to test your changes in a controlled environment is really nice. (I don't count community made shooting ranges on portal because holy shit those are janky as hell)

Missed the fact you can drag ALL downed players friendly or enemy and let me tell you that plus voip has created some of the funniest in game moments ive ever had

The thing that really made me actually cry tears of joy was having responsive menus and not having wait a few seconds to load a new page or switching tabs between different parts of the game

One thing that happened most of the time when i used to play bf3 and 4 is base rape, where teams were so unbalanced that one team could completely lock the other inside their base. In battlebit, 2 out of 10 matches for me so far were like that, and they all were 254 players compared to the 32v32 from bf3 and 4. Its wild that a game like this can kinda of fix something like that. At least for me it feels better. Hopefully it will stay that way.

It's not just the frame rate performance. The fact that they haven't fixed the insane mouse delay in bf2042 is next level

Lately i've been playing a lot of games that have lower graphics but more features in comparison to other games, like project zomboid and factorio, and i love the fact that battlebit did this again with very simple stuff like deploying cover, dragging players and higher capacity servers, i hope more companies develop this kind of games in the future after seeing this success stories.

The big thing for me is that the devs actually value their community rather than looking at them as inconvenient and annoying. AAA games for the most part stopped valuing their players a long time ago.

What I like especially is no SBMM, which corresponds to their transparency. SBMM is the opposite of transparant as its not telling the player his MMR but still putting him in ranked

One thing I really like: Progression cashes in as you get the scores and kills, no need to wait for the battle to finish.

I thoroughly enjoy this game and the low-poly graphics of this game. It's like TF2 or Deep Rock Galactic. I don't need the game to look as realistic as possible or have new gimmicks, I need it to play amazingly, and it does. My computer doesn't struggle, the gameplay is so much fun, the devs support the game, and the graphics have a sort of style that they own and that don't distract me from the gameplay. I'm here for the fun gameplay with my friends, in a solid game from a small developer, and I intend to stay awhile.

Alternative title: 10 things battlefield refused to address so an indie group of 3 said "fuck it, I'll do it myself"

These industry shakeups are exactly what’s needed to avoid another videogame crash. Battlebit and Baldurs Gate 3 are showing us what is possible.

The big city type maps are my favorite. Love the feeling of having to clear 20 story buildings at night with a flashlight on my weapon. Can't forget about the trash talking and trolling.

I can play battlebit on my notebook I use for work and school, that's a godsend for me sense that's my main PC right now. Also I adore having the class system that functions better at having defining roles than 2042. I love playing Medic/Support in team shooters and I have a better time with that in games like battlebit and Hell Let Loose than 2042.

honestly, the proximity chat is nice and i like it. but most of the time i don't seem to get people doing a couple silly things over the mic, or giving out call outs. most of the time if someone uses their mic, it's just them mic spamming stupid noises, music, or just being the most obnoxious person in the world in order to make it impossible to think, hear enemies, or if you're just having a rough go at it they just rub salt in the wound and make your mood worse. it's not like prox chat isn't a good thing, but i see so many people praising it like it's the best thing since sliced bread without pointing out that it actually does have drawbacks. and depending on the mood you're in or how your gaming session is going, it can make you want to just alt f4 and play another game.

Hope they add more weapons like the M16A4, the M60E6, and M240B. Love the building mechanic, but I hope we can construct offensive defenses like a stationary machine gun on top of a barrier. Maybe resupply vehicle weapons.

This straight reminds me of the old BFP4F feels, where you just joined and could play all day long without realizing the time passing by. You get a shit tons of weapons, which all of them are really suitable and comfortable to play, even there are a few meta-weapons, I really love playing with the SG550 or the AUG A3 for example. Also, NO MICROTRANSACTIONS, just a support bundle you can get on Steam, the cherry on the top was the ridiculous low price for such a huge game. I'm in love with this game, and I can see myself playing it for YEARS, cause devs hear the community and develop the best for the game, without giving a f about their bank accounts. This is a truly gem, a game made by casual players for players. And one important fact about devs: they do not nerf a single gun, they'd rather buff the other ones a bit more and just sightly nerf the OP. Masterclass, this is how a game claims its throne

I would put performance as THE best thing because it's a game and not a movie. And games are about gameplay and not just graphics which this game proves effortlessly.

I personally love the accessibility, there is something here for everybody of all skill levels. PLUS it doesnt cost a fortune to start playing and thats what brings it to life fo rme

I think we need a comparison between battlebit and squad. A lot of these features like dragging players, proximity, squad, and command chat seem to be modeled from squad

I wish it was on next gen consoles, it would do very successful there

Been loving this game. Back into traditional military shooter after like decade of other genres. Blast to play medic although they buffed all other classes recently with self healing which is awesome so been running around blowing shit up as engineer

BattleBit does battlefield better than Battlefield 2042 does.

On the topic of map count, it is worth mentioning that BBR has been in testing for YEARS, which has allowed the volume of maps to build up.

Talking of dragging players. I still remember DICE promising adding this feature for medics in BF5 only to cancel it. I am still pissed at this decision.

Servers not disbanding after each round, proximity chat, destruction, vaulting, leaning, weaponattachment ui, no OP helicopters, good maps, more maps, dragging players, simple scoreboard, voting, feedback tool, fast patches

No rubber band, no heavy load menu. quick from start-up to ingame I smile and accept death a lot more in BB, it feels fair

The main "secret" of the game is simply that it is focussed on core mechanics just working. Gun play, hit reg, movement, joining servers, variety of maps, variety of weapons and classes, game modes ... All is there and it works! Oh, and it has legacy features like squad management and score board and server browser.... And honestly, meanwhile i find beauty in the limited graphic fidelity👍👏🍾

Just bought this game today and it has everything I expected in Battlefield 2042. BFV style gunplay, amazing destruction, great bf3 bf4 like situations and its actually pretty hard. Amazing game and the there is a healthy playerbase in EU. Amazing game

While not exactly something that is a must have, I do wish there was more anti-air, even if it was exclusively anti-air. Having a homing launcher with only 1-3 uses feels ideal imo, seeing as it would allow an individual or group the ability to put down air targets, while not oversaturating the match with the weapons, especially if they're exclusively anti-air or just anti-vehicle

I honestly have little to no issues with BattleBit, the only thing I can think of is the audio and how strong SMGs still are. With audio I honestly can’t tell who’s footsteps are mine, teammate’s, or enemy’s definitely needs to be looked at as well as when bullets are “near” you. And for SMGs, they shouldn’t be beaming 100m beating ARs or LMGs.

Gun customization is so much better in battlebit, the attachment choices and the gun performance changes you can make with them are far above what battlefield 2042 offers

When battlebit gets steam workshop support in the future, it'll likely evolve into one of the best fps games ever made, if it isn't already. Anywhere from WW1 to Starwars on an easy to run fps would likely see the game lasting over a decade.

I find battlebit to have a much more beautiful skybox than any battlefield game, especially blue sun bf3 and orange sun bf4 as much as I loved those games 😂

I like this video and I love battle bit. I do not care for a 2042 video saying what it does better though since it fundamentally has been abandoned by the Dice devs. Anything Dice did better the battle bit devs could turn around and do the same improvement in a week (minus graphics).

When 2042 first came out I thought the big player count wouldn't work in any fps game. Battlebit proved me wrong tho, as all we needed was better map design and more cover. Sure I don't enjoy the higher player count on maps like Frugal or Namak. But on the bigger maps this can give a real sense of a full scale war and Front Lines makes this even more present. Notice with alot of the Battlefield maps its like a big war has already taken place on the maps, and we are a smaller scale battle after the fact. In Battlebit it feels as if we ARE the big battle that takes place first.

BattleBit is the supportive, positive, and communicative partner we needed. 2042 is the "pretty" toxic ex who doesn't listen or care, because they're "better" than you.

Don’t forget if the weapon attachments and customization is easier to understand and makes sense for the most part. It doesn’t have 5 different attachments that increase weapon accuracy but the only supposed difference is 3 of them are “ADS accuracy” and the other 2 are just “weapon accuracy.” Yet they all seem no different. Tbh, the 64 player modes in 2042 I haven’t liked. Idk why but it just feels like I got 3 squads of enemies in my back pocket every time I spawn or go anywhere. The 127 mode just seems like I have some time to breathe here and there and can keep account on where my enemies are at as well as teammates. Idk why, but I’ve had far more fun on the bigger modes. Except for some laggy and inconsistent net codes and connections here and there.

something that sets these 3 devs apart from any other dev is they even remove things that a majority of the playerbase hates but they really like (example being update 2.02 making it so you cant shoot c4 while its in the air) they put the players priorities over theirs and thats...honestly a first in the fps genre

Bettlebit has better recoil, more guns, a better attachment system, more rewarding progression, better class specific gadgets, more gadgets, better vehicle balancing, better sight picture when ads, better hit registration, more understandable combat encounters like knowing what killed you or where you messed up, better (and more realistic) bullet velocity, and soon a better community API

proximity chat should be in every single FPS. It's crazy it's only ever in more indie-tier titles.

Weapon balancing for sure, I did see in a couple comments that. People have said the graphics aren't great. But I for one am just fine with the graphics how they are the blocky characters are kind of neat. I think it's the major reason why they're able to work on the game as much as they able to right now

Low Visuals of this game show you how much gameplay can be done with less time. It might not look as good but it reduces the time need to change, fix simple things. Including keeping frames up and less crashing. A game's engine can only do so much.

The only issue battlebit has for me is visibility, i constantly struggle seeing enemies

I just can't seem to get into this game. When I do play it's not that fun. The games feel a lot more chaotic (Not in a fun way) unlike BF2042 where fast chaotic battles are super excited and fun. I've been playing BF games since 1942, and even though 2042 is not the best game in the series I still have hope for it. I think that too many big content creators were too critical of the game which caused a lot of backlash. I am not defending EA at all but I think we need to see the game for what it is now. I still have hope.

The most fun Battlefield was Battlefield 2 when they introduced VoIP, this is just a better version of that. I love it.

battlebit also shows that people are done with pretty graphics. they only get you so far. back in the day it was a big selling point because games simply didnt look as good but nowadays many games look visually stunning. but if the gameplay is bad then its not going to matter anymore

you should try out the game : mount and blade napoleon, sadly only the players can be eliminated not the buildings or anything really but quite an amazing game with servers where the battle size goes up to 400 players per game

I think the graphics add to the game. The more realistic they make these games look, the more comical people falling over as a ragdoll looks. Because what we're doing in the games is never going to look "real," it's like a realism filter in minecraft. It looks canny. This game suggests the things it's evoking, so your imagination has to fill in the blanks. The readability of everything is high, so your interpretation has plenty of room to work without losing the plot. When there's no blank facial expression on the enemy, I can interpret it through the gameplay and their voice chat. IDK, I hope this is clear.

On the last point I don't even have a graphics card and I can still get it to run on 60fps

Weird, seems like creating a game with fun in the center instead of trend chasing, shops and skins, makes for a much more fun and also more successful experience for the developers? Who knew!

I don't understand the difficulty people have in getting into matches in 2042, at least in NA. I have literally never had that problem at all, unless I'm trying out some wacky official Portal experience that isn't that popular. With any of the main modes though, no problem at all regardless of time of day.

I feel like graphics would be a fair thing to bring up because while obviously battlebit does not have the same fidelity as battlefield that was a choice and it allows a lot more people to access the game. Honestly I would love to play 2042 but my computer just simply cannot run it and while some parts are older 2042 is the only modern title which is simply too straining for it to run

you can drag players when tehy are dead in bf 2042 btw on some portal servers so it exist in teh game i dunno why its not stadards option on the normal servers

i really think battlebit handles vehicles better than 2042 as well. they are strong, but not to strong. and infantry can still handle them, especially if the driver is unwary. I have yet to have game where a heli or tank has gone "60-0" streaks like you see in 2042

I wonder when this game will come to Console. I think they would earn more money for their future projects involving this amazing game. The moment this game comes to Xbox, Battlefield will become a distant footnote.

Battlebit basically took the best of battlefield and injected some squad elements and it works beautifully.

Every things is for the players but not the cheaters which they have to deal with and hackers. Being transparent is good but not the hacking side. Else people will keep working hard to counter them.

The proximity chat makes sense in North America I bet...But let me tell you. It will not be as pleasant over here in EU. Many countries are still severely lacking when it comes to english. Writing is one thing... But talking? Yeah. No ty. As long as it can be turned off easily then sure I guess... But it must be easy to switch off via a button command rather than from a menu. Then I'd be ok with it 😜
