They used to do that in FIFA 06, along with stadium expansion and upgrading things like staff and training facilities.

The problem is that these are the best strikers in the game rn and I made a good deal and have 100mln to spend on a striker, but they wage is so fucking high, like 290 per week while my highest player is 130, but most of the others are at 60, so I can't buy any really good striker. I play with lazio btw, just starting third season

Their position doesn't mean anything. Their overall doesn't mean anything. You can play a player in any position without detriment and the overall does not reflect their in game rating. Wish they did it like PES.

In PES ,there is an option where you can customize Kits,Badges,League names,stadium names etc.So you aren't stuck with the shitty unlicensed versions of clubs like Manchester Blue or Merseyside Reds.

Yeah... I play both games to be honest. Love the work that the people over at PES Universe put in to provide people with all the proper kits and everything!

Yeah... Player ratings used to change when you moved people into a different position as well in some of the older games. No idea why they take away useful features like that!

The Journey was new offline game mode added to the game this year that EA dedicated a solid amount of time, money and resources to the making and marketing of. With that in mind, they do still clearly have an interest in offline game modes and it's entirely possible that they could make some serious improvements to career mode and really push that game mode in the future.

Rich Leigh Could make improvements but they won't career mode has got progressively worse through out the years back in 08 correct me if I'm wrong you used to be able to do up stadiums have sponsorship deals etc etc and they get rid of it each new FIFA they add a small thing like youth squads, Global transfer network, training for players that's it one small thing half the stuff they said that would come out this year didn't they said more realistic transfers so the same players aren't programmed to go to the same teams every career mode hasn't happened, plus like you say they're concentrating on the journey now so it means career like clubs which has the potential to be a great mode will be left alone and have only small things done to it as much I hate it I can't see it being any different next year, cause ea won't wanna spend much on it cause they don't get no return 🙁

They potentially won't really change anything again, no. But it's by speaking out like this that they'll maybe take note and make positive changes to make the game mode better. If we all just keep quiet and don't have our say on what we feel they should be doing, change will almost definitely not occur. If we let them know our thoughts though, then at least we've done our best to be heard.

FUT killed the Career mode.

No idea why they take useful features out of the game... Even going from FIFA 16 to FIFA 17, they removed the ability to request funds from the board which was pretty annoying!

Rich Leigh when I played the 17 beta I was actually really hyped, it felt so much better than 16 in every way. Then final game came out and the gameplay in match was completely different, I was so disappointed

Yeah... I still much prefer FIFA 17 to FIFA 16. But the beta gameplay was definitely more enjoyable in my opinion as well.

I'll be honest here, mate; I didn't even know that you'd done one! Knew that Shorty had done a video like this as Jarrad mentioned it when I told him I was going to be doing one a few weeks back, but I was completely unaware of your video. Just given it a watch though and it's really not 'literally' everything you included in yours, is it? Yes, there's some crossover as there's likely to be with any video of this sort, but as I say, I wasn't even aware that you'd done a video like this. So I'm sorry if you feel that I may have taken inspiration from you, but I really didn't. A number of the points I make in this video in fact actually continue on from where I left off last month with my '10 Things I Hate About FIFA 17 Career Mode' video, whilst my point about players being able to learn new positions was something that I spoke about in a video that went out on SparringDK's channel last year titled '30 in 30' where a bunch of us spoke about the things we'd like to see included in career mode in the future.

I did the same thing in FIFA 16; I had an incredible RB that I played on the wing. Sadly he only had 1 star skills which was a bit annoying, but other than that he was insane there! You definitely end up feeling a bit dirty in the end when you do that though, or at least I did anyway!

It's not though, is it... There's no player development; player ratings don't change through time, different players don't rise through the ranks, you have to adhere to chemistry issues if you want to get the best out of them, and in order to play with them best players in the game? You're probably going to have to use your real-life credit card.

I think that's already a thing, right? Certain players have the injury prone trait and are therefore more likely to pick up injuries in the game.

It's depressing really to think that the game mode has actually taken backwards steps in the last decade, isn't it?!
