You are a legend man. Great video, you are helping a lot of people. I just decided to do this surgery after waiting for months for Insurance approval (which my insurance company denied so I'm going to have pay for it myself). Gonna be turning 25 soon, your video gave me all the confidence I needed!

@@burcinsaglam4196 everyone is different, i am starting to eat more solids now after 6 weeks. I am not on fully solid foods as I cannot chew due to the alignment of my teeth and my mouth is still quite numb. 4 days however is too soon to be on solids, give it a little more time :)

Just had SARME surgery 2 days ago, I’m a 37 yo male. Not gonna lie, the recovery from this surgery has been brutal. I would definitely recommend always having an ice back ready, your face will swell quite significantly. I have a pretty high pain threshold but this surgery is right up there. It will all be worth it in the end.

1.5month past expanding (8mm). My right tooth started tilting outwards so the gap at the (bottom) base was actually 9mm, which was pretty awful (to me at least). Most people said nothing, a few mades somes jokes about it, but I survived (no shit) Now, the gap is 5.5mm at the upper base and 7mm at the lower base. It's still a lot, people still look at me weird and I still feel obliged to explain myself to everyone I meet but I have to say: what a relief to see it closing! I confess I've been cheating a bit using some elastics bands (my ortho probs wouldn't be happy about it but y'know, I'm doing it "safe" with a very low amount of pressure, removing it as soon as I feel any discomfort/pain and I feel it's helping) I'll have the expander removed on February 5th (my birthday, how lovely right!) and will then pursue an Invisalign treatment. I'm an optimistic guy by nature but I have to be realistic too: the gap won't fully close probably before end of summer 24 AT BEST. It's long, it's hard, can be super annoying and even painful at times, but I guess it's worth it

Beyond thank you for this. I'm getting it done less than a month from today. It's a necessity for me for multiple reasons but I'm freaking out. This video was very comforting. Thanks for your reassuring words. But I'm still freaking out. And yes, it's cause I'm old and the idea of the gap and my face changing! My ortho and surgeon say my process will be 3 years long. I'm FREAKING out. Still, thank you, and still freaking out.

I was lucky in that I did the wisdom teeth and the surgery all at the same time. I did have to pull another teeth later as a molar had shifted back, keeping my lower wisdom tooth socket exposed and getting an infection. Luckily it was another quick surgery and recovery process.

@@anishdev92 Thank you so much for responding. Why not lift anything heavy above my head? What happens? In terms of HIIT or sprints is it because it hurts or bleeds?
@anishdev92
@anishdev92 3 жыл бұрын
No worries! So the biggest reason is the risk of something slipping, hitting your head and causing trauma to the jaw while it’s healing. As for hiit, it’s the combination of vigorous movement & blood / heart rate going too high, causing potential bleeding while your nose blood vessels are repairing

First. Thank you so much for the videos. They helped me prepare for everything leading up to my surgery (November 2022) removal March 2023. I got braces on 2 weeks before removal. Lately, I feel like I've had a setback. My front upper teeth have hurt since the beginning along with nerve pain. But it seemed to be getting better but for the past week it feels like the pain when I used to be turning the SARPE. Did you have any set back like that? Thank you again!

You are absolutely welcome! Nothing better than hearing that my videos have helped you in someway! A “setback” I had was I do remember having a bit of a “click” every couple of days on my upper jaw, it felt a little uncomfortable but it went away in a week or two!

Any updates? I have had a slower than normal healing process according to my oral surgeon. I am almost 9 months post op and about 8 mont post completion of expanding, and I’ve had nerve pain. I was prescribed GABAPENTIN to help and it definitely makes a difference. Hoping the nerves heal soon. I’m definitely anxious about this whole healing process just because it’s been so slow. Hope you have had some relief as well with your nerve pain.
