I would add 2 “never do this” items. 1. The first one, which I learned the hard way, is “never wash your wigs in hot or warm water.” Ruined the curl and stretched the cap. 2. The second, which I’ve never done, but which many wig sisters can’t seem to resist doing is “don’t cut bangs in your wig.”

Hi. Apologies for the late comment, I’ve only recently found Taz and all her awesome “friends” and I’m getting through her videos one by one. I just have a question about your advice to not cut the bangs. I’m so guilty of that! 😳 A lot of the time I’ll purposely order a wig with longer bangs so that I CAN adjust them to my liking. I have a really long forehead and require a longer bang area than most so that has been my solution. Why is it not advisable to do that? Still learning and very appreciative for the information. Thank you!

A great reminder, Taz. I have tenuously applied moderate heat to the front of a wig or two to train the hair away from my face, but I spritz it with water mist first. But, very tenuously and only on a couple of my less expensive wigs. Anyway, I think all your tips are great. Happy Easter! 👩🐣🐥🐇

Really a lot of thing's we all think about with are wig care. I aways worry when cooking about my wig and the steam from boiling or the oven heat. I have a wig that I only wear when cooking now. I have melted one when I first started wearing wigs. I learned the hard way. What is the benefit of silicone spray on are wigs? I don't spray anything on my wigs an only use wig product's. I have heard Amoral on the longer wigs helps cut down on the tangling. I never tried this as I am very sensitive to smells. Very bad (Allergy's) Thank you Taz for all this great information it helps us all. Happy Easter to you and your family.❤ 🐣 🐰

Hi there Patty! Happy Easter! When I refer to Silicon Spray, I am referring to silicon spray made for synthetic wigs.. such as Simply Stylin.. its in my Amazon store, link in section below video:-) I have never tried Armor All or anything other than something designed for wigs.. and I would not recommend it..lots of ladies have some hacks that work well for them. Thank you so much 🐣🐰🌷🌷

Thank you for this video... I did learn something new. I am waiting now for my very first wigs... I was bold and ordered two human hair and one synthetic wig. I sure hope they will work for my head that is less than 21 inches. Also... How will a little old lady look in them? I hope to have fun with thinking of them as fashion accessories instead of trying to fool people that it is my own hair. As my own hair is pure white, everyone I know will realize immediately that I am wearing wigs. In any case, I have not yet found any wigs in pure white natural looking color without roots in dark... It looks good on you Taz, but would not look good on me. I love the Estetics Sunlit color but not with the dark roots.

Hi Taz! Thank you so much for the 10 tips of what NOT to do! Question: I leave in 3 weeks for my KS home and will be there for 6 months. I don't want to take my winter wigs and will be leaving 10 wigs or more in Florida. The AC will be on at 80 and it's not humid in our house. Do I leave my wigs on the foldable wig stands that I have them on? I think you've seen them in my videos. Thanks! XOXO

Hi Mar!! The collapsible wig stands should not stretch out the wigs if you leave them on the stand.. but they may get a little dusty which may require you to wash them right away when you return. I store mine in the box as they came.. has worked great for me:-) Have a blessed day:-) XOXO

What is the style and color of the wig you hold on the foam head when talking about how to store wigs? I love the look of that one. Please let me know!

Can I wear a head beanie over my synthetic hair topper? I also wonder if I can pull up the hood on my hoodie over my hair topper. Sometimes it gets cold and I need something like that.
@TAZSWIGCLOSET
@TAZSWIGCLOSET 6 ай бұрын
Sure! I wear hats and hoodies with my wigs. It's not an absolute no-no, its just that anything causing friction on the hair will make it wear out faster. XOXO

Hi Taz, i ‘m french and i ´m not sure of what you said about steam. Can i steam my synthetic wig whithout heat protector ? It’s not a heat friendly wig. I ´m afraid to mess up my beautiful Jones wig. Thanks for your great tips 🥰

Some experienced wearers can successfully use steam to style or control their non heat friendly wigs, but I do not recommend it:-) XOXO

TAZSWIGCLOSET Oh! Do you mean that heat protector is only for HD wigs? And that i won’t be able to revive my wig, once the fiber starts to " split " and " dry " ? I’m very thankful for the help :-) XOXO

Ive been watching your videas for a few years now, your amazing at wig reviews. So awhile ago I ordered the Avelon wig, love it, but its waaay too Curley Which looks hilarious on me. can I totally straighten this wig with my steamer without damaging it? and will it stay straight after washing it or do I have too keep straighteng it every time?
@TAZSWIGCLOSET
@TAZSWIGCLOSET 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! You can use mild and small shots of steam to straighten, but I must say that I have tried this and I didn't have enough control over the results to make it a good option for me. I ended up with too much variation. I recommend soaking it the wig a bit, then setting it on wig stand and gently pull the curls/fiber downward many times while drying (not comb or brushing), just gentle pulling. It may give a subtle more realistic result. XOXO

Do we have to buy every brand's products for cleaning and styling a wig? For example, I have a new Ellen Willie and a Noriko do I have to buy both shampoos, or can I just buy a generic one? Love the vids!

Great video, thank you! I have a strange shaped head with not much of an occipital bone in the back so I have to use It stays all around the perimeter of my head. When I take it off the inside looks “yucky” even if I take a wash cloth with cold water and gently wipe the inside it seems as though the fibers on the outside tend to get stiff. So, consequently, I end up soaking them in Balsam or washing them,. Any suggestions? Have a Happy Easter💕

I just got my first synthetic hair topper as I have partial alopecia, can you wash your synthetic hair topper or your symphetic clip and bangs with the shampoo I wash my hair with which has no alkaline none of the bad stuff in it, so do I have to have special shampoo or can I use the shampoo I use on my hair

@TAZSWIGCLOSET
@TAZSWIGCLOSET 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! I have seen a few hacks here and there, but the only restoration I use is steam.. steaming the ends will give them a bit more life by calming the frizz:-) But be careful, steam will also remove the curl! XOXO

Sure, hairspray is fine as long as its formulated for synthetic "hair"/wigs. If you have to use hairspray on wigs, be sure there are not sulfates.. they are very drying XOXO
