Please don't take us too seriously. It's just fun bantering! I have to mention it because on every video we get some comments from people who take everything we say at face value. But most of it is just humor attempt (which don't always land nor funny), but it's not to be taken first degree.

Haha! When it comes to not talking to strangers, i think we WISH we were bold enough to do it. Were just shy and socially awkward. By all means come here and teach us how to do it!

I'm so NOT SWEDISH when it comes to those things he say about talking in lines, sitting next to someone in a bus etc, I love that as I am curious in other people. An advice is to find someone older, they mostly appreciate it more than younger people. 65+ is perfect for that.

You can't go wrong with the same don't-dos in Finland either. Pretty similar here. Though personally I don't mind if somebody buys me a beer, I'll say thank you and drink it. And I have nothing against talking about Swedish ice hockey team, I respect them.

To know your market value and what your salary should be and could be, we have unions. Check with your union for wage range for your education, experience and location. Their data may be less complete for your place of work than a sample you take yourself (if you work at a fairly small place), but is in all other ways superior.

He is doing a satire about swedish stereotypes.. with some truth becuse of our "culture"! Dont brag to much.. everyone probably alredy know that you made it, be humble.. especialy towards old friends! In sweden one split the bill, its this "dept of gratitude", its about "indipendence", one dont own any other anything! Just let be friends and keep it like that! Its kinda like this, sweden is a rich country, moste of the population is educated and have a decent salary, some more, some less! To not destroy his video.. it was fun, on a swedish scale, its a introspection on swedishnes!

About that asking about salaries. About not talking about how much money you make is more when you meet strangers and people you don't know very well like on a dinner party. But obviously you'll be free to talk about it with your colleagues at work and with friends and family. And that standing far apart in a queue is a specific Stockholm thing, nobody in the rest of Sweden stands in lines like that.

The further south in europe you're raised in, the more talkative, generally.

I feel like it's not this strict with the buying drink for the most part, at least when you are already friends... Especially since swish became a big app (similar to paypal) we usually split bills or if someone pays you pay them some pther time. I think it's more like if you are aquaintances it's not that common. It might be generational differences too, I am a student in my early 20's.

The salary are mostly individual and you can't expect same salary just because you're working in the same company. There are official salary statistics for every profession, you don't have to ask a colleague since it will not reflect the salary you should have.

I am almost irritated here. This guy is over exaggerating with 200%....Neither of those rules are so important (except for others salaries perhaps). I have been living in Sweden for almost my entire life...And I break 50% of those so called rules daily! Go listening to for example Stefan Tyrone .... He is quite young American who has been living in Sweden for about 5 years now. He is nowadays pretty much exactly like a Swede ...yet he is a master of describing the differences! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZrBgdJZ2ktuXfZ8.html

The video you was viewing was right and wrong, we can talk alot, if we feel relaxed with a person, if we get a good vibe from a stranger we don´t have any problem talking, it is importent to don´t empose your self, start with a easy coment on something and if you get a good response it is ok to start talking more.

The religious party in the US use to be Democrats. That sort of kind of change with Reagan being (probobly fake?) christian to attract the christian block. Since then media have often described Republicans as the evangelical party. But in reality its much more complicated when there is still Christian communities that is fully supporting the DNC. This get really complicated when DNC gone from being very pro Christianity in the 70s, to be sort of neutral in the 90s to be more anti Christianity in current day, while being pro Islamic and to some extent (but not always) pro jewish. In Sweden on the other hand have nothing to do what happen somewhere else. its about separation of church and states. That is engraved by law. Politic are not alowed to be involved in church, vice versa. While that is the case in theory, there is a church election that is totally engraved in politics. So Sweden is doing sort of the opposite, where there is politics in the church in steed of religion in the state.

The Evangelicals in the USA are a small minority but they are loud and have money. So they have a lot of influence over the Republican party.

This is too strange. The first question (#10) about buying beer. I've never heard any complaints about ppl buying rounds of beer. No real Swede would care, free beers are awesome. The opposite never happens and doesn't lead to anxiety lol.
