@@amarat8058 I like the honors college because the gen ed courses we have differ from the greater Mason University. They have smaller class sizes, and then there are reserved sections of some courses specifically for Honors Students. We also get priority registration, so chances are the schedule you want will be the schedule you get, except for some honors classes which are really popular so they fill up fast. If you really enjoy research, there are endless opportunities for that in the Honors College as well. Just a great feature of GMU overall!

Hey, I'm a student at GMU who is going to study abroad for the Fall semester 2020! Many aspects of the study abroad destinations depend on what program you are applying to and where you are going. I am going to the Mason Korea, the university based in Songdo, Korea. Classes are taught in English, so I don't need to learn Korean (but it absolutly helps to know the language you are going to for convenience). Some other locations are not taught in English (like some study aborads to Spain, which are only taught in Spanish).

Hi, I worked in the study abroad office at GMU officially called the GEO office. I suggest going to the study abroad website at masonabroad.gmu.edu to check out the different programs. On the online brochures you can see what language the programs are offered in and the majors that are offered there. The only thing is since the pandemic the summer programs were cancelled this year. Going forward I'm not sure if the office will go forward with fall and spring 2021 programs. I suggest calling the office to ask more detailed questions or sending them an email. Also, there are many scholarships you can apply to on the website when you start your application. I studied abroad in South Korea at Mason Korea for 2 semesters and Galway Ireland for a summer and the grant money I received covered a lot of expenses.

@@necatiunsal9572 I ended up choosing GMU and started my first semester. Overall it's great but I still complain about the food alot since they made me get a unlimited meal plan so i usually eat at the dining halls. The areas around GMU are great but also very expensive

It depends on the program! But it’s typically very similar to your in state tuition cost. They give out scholarships as well!

To be honest, I don’t know much about the transfer housing situation. I’m pretty sure mason is really good about housing when it comes to transfer students! I would definitely check the housing website to make sure/get more info

It's not considered a 'top school' but depending on your major, for its location and job opportunities in the D.C. area, you'll get a lot of value for your money.

Far from prestigious lol. Usually peoples' last choice if they're not accepted to other universities.

Probably my biggest tip is to get involved early! Joining organizations on campus is a great way to meet friends and be connected to the University

@@LiberalSoldier1 Fairfax, VA is the main campus. There is a Science and Tech Campus in Manassas, VA, a Law School in Arlington, VA and a Campus in South Korea
