I made the clothing mistake a few days ago. Took off my hunter vest to wring it out and it was ruined. Had to drop a Sporter and a few items to make room for the medium tent that was in the vest.

I love taking protective cases and vest pouches. It’s good to keep your grenades and other sensitive equipment from taking damage. I had gun cleaning kits ruined because an infected or player fights me.

Good advice. Cooking pots work too. I once had a glow plug get ruined in my vest from a couple of infected hits. Cost me the entire Humvee (and some of the loot inside it) because I couldn't drive it to a safe place.

The one that always get me for some reason is when I have something like a map in my hands on console,for some reason instead of putting it back in my inventory I drop it somewhere when I'm picking up other things and have to backtrack for it. 😠 😡 😤 😅

Perhaps it was patched, but I swore that putting gloves over bloody hands didn't protect you from the effect of having bloody hands, even though you think it would. Another good vid by the way.

I tried to get into this game on XSX, but the controls are too terrible. The attack delay is ridiculous. Also, I kept starving to death. So annoying being hungry all the time. It's way too dark at night as well. I could never survive for more than a couple of hours real time.

It is 1000% worth sticking with it. It’s hard to start but you quickly pick it up and it becomes the best game ever. It’s all I play now, after the initial tough start. When you start running with randoms and learning the game properly.

I've never had those problems, but then I grew up with guns. I was the owner of my first gun at age eight, 68 years ago. Best hunting partner was my Dad. He was also the best shot I have ever met, and I've been on a few rifle and pistol shooting teams myself. He helped feed his family of eight as a kid in the Depression. During WW2 he was the Jeep driver/radio operator/bodyguard for the artillery spotters in North Africa and Italy. He always carried his rifle/shotgun at port arms when running and as a kid I thought that was funny. Oh, yeah, DayZ is the subject at hand. My memories are dying as I get older.

Hello! One thing that I'm still confused about regarding not eating with bloody hands 3:15 and using gloves is the following: if I do not have bloody hands and am wearing gloves and then cut up a chicken whilst wearing gloves, do I need to remember to take my gloves off every time I eat in future? That is, does cutting up a chicken whilst wearing gloves make the gloves full of salmonella?

No, gloves can't be contaminated. Currently, it's really just a 'make sure your gloves aren't ruined' mechanic.

as Texan said, putting gloves on completely protects you. So if you cut up a chicken with gloves ON, you won't get sick. There is no "bloody gloves" mechanic.

To the sickness comment, i would add: A) If you put on a face mask/bandana that a sick person has been wearing, you have a chance to become ill. B) Conversely, if you are sick, don’t give your face covering to a team mate. C) I’ve heard of people who purposefully leave their infected face covering at a well, in the hopes that another player will get sick. When you are sick, it’s very hard to be stealthy, per the coughing and sneezing.

I don't think I've ever been in a position where I gotten any illnesses except a cold. To reduce chance of getting ill, make sure your good on thirst and hunger, the more stable you are, the greater your survival. Also try and prioritise crafting a splint as you may end up in a fight or flight situation that could result in a broken leg.

You can, but the way it works, is Unknown food makes you full very fast. So it doesn't really make you sick, but you'll puke if you eat too much too quick, because it makes you full. So keep an eye out for the full stomach icon.

Ruined gloves do not protect, I believe this has gotten me a few times. Most medical bandages do come disinfected from what I have seen. I still always check to tooltip real quick for the disinfected state.

Hmm if you have bloody hands it should simply let you Hold LeftClick to wash hands... Maybe relog if its not working.
