I don't care what anyone says, she really did work very hard from being a simple valet to an actual competing wrestler. She proved you can have the model look, but also kick ass despite what the industry and people perceive you to be. Her rivalry with Lita will be forever memorable for me. It's unfortunate that the women's division has declined here after.

+tnargtnarud True. Trish was a rare gem. She was very sexy and had no wrestling experience from the start. She worked her butt off to become a great wrestler and a fan favorite. Now the WWE always attempts to do the magic again many times over models, but always failing at it. The closes things we got are the Bella twins, but even still, they can't hold a candle to Trish status.

Trish actually joined in 1999 & made her TV debut in 2000. You mentioned she had 0 wrestling experience but she actually trained at Sullys Gym before debuting. Oh and the reason she improved so much and became an amazing performer unlike any other model was because Trish was actually a huge wrestling fan growing up so had the drive & passion.

I wanted to f*** her in 2000, not 2018/2019. Vince McMahon wanted to hit that back in the day. Do you think he’s thinking that now, assuming he can get it up still? 😂

As far as # 3 goes, keep in mind that in 2005, the WWE women's division had completely fallen apart. Jacqueline, Jazz, Gail Kim and Nidia all got fired in 2004, Ivory got moved to hosting WWE Experience (then released in 2005 when her contract wasn't renewed), Molly Holly quit and Lita had torn her ACL. When Trish hurt her back, that left them with only one woman who could actually wrestle - Victoria. Because of that, I can understand WWE not taking the belt off her before she went to recover. Even if Trish had dropped the title to her first, there was no one credible for Victoria to defend against.

Agreeing to be put through a table by Bubba actually improves my respect for her. Not a lot of people will risk a back injury and a threat to their career for one moment of plot advancement.

Strangely enough, I found the Dudleys' attack on Trish more disturbing than the Two-Man Power Trip's WAY more violent attack on Lita. And I think it's b/c I can almost justify the reason for the latter in terms of the storyline. They wanted the cheers for Stone Cold to stop b/c he was supposed to be a heel, while Lita was actually a capable competitor by that point and was trying to protect Matt. Trish, on the other hand, was just a valet whose only weapon as a heel was her sex appeal. While Bubba Ray's gimmick was that of a "sexual predator" as the narrator calls it. And the way the angle climaxes is pretty much a form of slut shaming as they built it up w/ Trish tempting her fate, making the audience (which included children) cheer for her inevitable demise and Bubba Ray's gratification. In fact, when the EMTs were tending to Trish, you can pretty much feel the embarrassment of the crowd after they realized what they just cheered for. But I think the last straw was the incredibly desperate HLA vs 3-Minute Warning segment on Raw. Which was one of the things that caused many fans to finally tune out during that era.

Sunny did never have matches in WWE as far as I know.. she did in WCW though, I'd also blame Torrie and Stacy though cause they were also around during the golden era and were actually very decent wrestlers always had solid matches and I feel they also had vince thinking he should hire more girls that look hot like them and Trish.

+xNicaMvs Torrie wasn't that great and Stacy could never wrestle
@xNicaMvs
@xNicaMvs 8 жыл бұрын
In matches I've seen with Stacy she's never botched or wrestled sloppy they were pretty solid matches as far as I remember even though she didn't really wrestle it'd be mostly catfights.. And same for Torrie but I actually can remember Torrie having some good matches with Nidia and Molly Holly. Torrie wasn't great but I consider her better than average which is saying alot compared to some divas now
@cortanaisawesome5575
@cortanaisawesome5575 8 жыл бұрын
Reason that was for Stacy was because she did the same 5 moves in every match in the exact same order. It became predictable and she pretty much played it safe. Her last match was a little above average. Torrie wasn't bad, I just hated it when she did the stinkface. It was part of that trend that was setting women's wrestling back a couple of years again. The fact that she wanted to hold a title and that she was gonna be the first divas champion showed she was invested though

Thanks for pointing us in the direction of larosamendes. In their own words, and in their video description, they 'borrowed' the information for their video from the original article on our site... Unfortunately we live in a world where people steal content, hack it into pieces and upload it to KZfaq... The original article from 2014, by John Canton can be found at: whatculture.com/wwe/10-things-wwe-wants-forget-trish-stratus.php

Disagree with some aspects. At the beginning you mentioned that Trish joined WWE in 2000 with "zero wrestling experience" but she was actually signed in 1999 & trained at Sullys Gym for a year alongside other Canadian wrestlers such Edge before debuting on TV in 2000. Oh and the difference between Trish and EVERY other model signed by WWE is Trish actually grew up as a big wrestling fan unlike Eva Marie etc which is why she had the drive & passion to improve. Other than that it was a great video.

trish I give credit for my god I forgot how beautiful she was, and two, she worked hard to learn the business and give good wrestling matches when she entered wwe as he said - WITH NO EXPERIENCE. she busted her ass, not to just become a model diva but a good woman's wrestler, during her final years especially in 2005 she produced great fast paced matches for sure, and she def deserved to be in the hall of fame.

They train the women with men!!!!!! The women all accept the possible injuries they could receive when they take the matches/stunts or storylines. It's not real violence against women. I'm a woman and think it's empowering that they would do things that the guys would do with the toughness of a man and so do Trish and Lita. I agree with the rest of your opinions though.
