Let me take you back to the magical year of 1998… I was a senior in high school, 18 years old. Unfortunately, I got caught with my friends’s mother (she was 36). There was some drama at my high school and within our group of friends. Let’s flash forward a year, time has healed most of these wounds, and the group of friends go to the movies and see American Pie. We are crying we’re laughing so hard… until the Finch and Stiffler’s mom scene. It got very quiet and they all turned almost in unison and looked at me.

I think some people in this world need a reality check. American Pie was first and foremost a teenage comedy/drama that was meant to be taken that way. The film was released in 1999 which is hard to believe was 25 years ago, and for people who try to cancel it and want apologies for its content, I would tell them to relax and have some warm apple pie.

Born in 81, class of 99... my friends and I loved American Pie. It's so weird that it's been 25 years and like the movie, I still remember so many things clearly. One thing that isn't talked about, is how much 99's music you hear in the Soundtrack. Blink 182, Harvey Danger... the music is such a testament to the times also. America Pie wasn't just a movie. It was a testament to the culture at the time. It's crudeness, has always been crude and still is crude in nature. High School kids are loud, obnoxious, sexualized young adults, trying to figure things out and screwing it all up. My own adventures with friends were similar to American Pie. Sexcapades, trying to lose my virginity; with just as many mishaps. The social life of a Senior in High School. I think American Pie could be made today. Just give everyone cell phones to hold, throughout the movie and bam. 2024!

They were some of the best chilidogs I’ve ever had. Also the interior of Yesterdog is similar to Dog Years, only a lot of it is wood paneling and it’s covered by decades of people’s signatures. Actually Bill Murray had even more scenes, dialogue & sequences (as did many of the other actors) in Ghostbusters Frozen Empire (some of which can be glimpsed at in the trailer) but a lot of those scenes were unfortunately cut (to bring down the film's overall running time down from almost 3hrs to roughly a little under 2hrs) for the final theatrical version released in theaters....some of these (maybe even all - have to wait and see) deleted scenes/deleted sequences will be included in the upcoming standard & collectors editions DVD/Blu-Ray releases.

@@MrJmd116 - According to the director, a lot scenes were cut to shorten the running time but he has confirmed that a lot of them will be put on DVD & Blu-Ray (because he says, that everyone, cast and crew, put a lot of work into those deleted scenes and audiences should be able to see them).

Absolutely loved (and still do) this movie and the 'original' sequels. Being from Michigan, and graduating from HS around the same time as these movies came out...the local connection was important to us. We knew it wasn't actually 'filmed' here but we still took the connection to heart and it DID feel authentic for the Grand Rapids and Lake Michigan area (for part 2). My two sons are 'almost' old enough for this film, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with them too!

The spinoffs were gold. Highly recommend. The first spin off “band camp” is the worse one. The naked mile is probably the best one beta house is a sequel to naked mile. I think they came out with a girl version on Netflix a few years ago that was ok

I grew up in the 80's & 90"s & this movie along with the other teen flicks help make my teen year memories more fun. But I feel the biggest teen movie then was Varsity Blues. Minty PLEASE DO VARSITY BLUES!!

I remember going to see American Pie at the cinema with a group of friends. It was completely packed! None of us knew what to expect, and we didn't stop laughing from start to finish. Also, the cinematic version had Jim standing with the pie, while the home video "unrated" version was him on top of it. Not sure what the other changes were, though I seem to recall both showed the destroyed pie aftermath.

Another point it was one of the films that helped boost blink 182 into the major band of the 00s they became. Not only did they cameo in the film the sound track featured their music.

American Pie is easily one of the best series of comedy movies (not including the spinoffs)! The first one is a timeless classic with a great cast, soundtrack, quoutable lines and even an appearance by Blink-182! The other three are great too but out of the four, the 1st one will always remain my favourite!

Ahh, this movie… 1999, my first year of uni… I was doing a music degree and I was there for classical flute. I thought it would be a great idea for me and all my new uni buddies to go out and see this new movie everyone was raving about… /sigh. All through the movie, they kept teasing me for how similar to Michelle I was… and then she said it. She said that one line that has been plaguing flautists for 25 years. I wanted to crawl under the seat and die!! Even now “oh, you’re a musician? What do you play?” “Flute” “This one time, at band camp…” “Haven’t heard that before…” That being said, I did love and still guiltily enjoy these movies (not including the direct to video ones). They’re a bit of fun.

I loved this series, I even had a few of the other ones as well. But the American pie ones with the og cast were the best. I'd love to see a new one with all the og cast to see what they are upto now.

One of the best franchises in cinematic history (excluding the spin offs). Harmless, outlandish fun, and totally relatable. At 46 years, these have still been my go-to's. Wedding is my personal favourite.

Is that your kitty cat????? So cute!!!!! And you know that in the US our flute is different than the one you have. Ours has a lot more....um keys...LOL! And it's played horizontal not vertical so it's just different LOL! And yes, I went to band camp for four years and had a friend that was a flautist (what a flute player is called)- but we never used our horns "after hours" LOL! But you have a really cute kitty!!!

American Pie was brillaint. Made at a time when the western working class were thriving and that shows. Would love to see movies like this return. Our culture needs it.

The title is also a play on words. There is a metaphor in the US to describe something that is very “American” by stating that “_______ is as American as apple pie.” ***BONUS*** In the US the green plaid wallpaper design in Jim’s room is now officially named “American Pie.”

The late 90s to mid 2000s was such a magical and unique time to be a teen. The music and movie scene were on fire. I absolutely love the original 4 American Pie films, I have to watch them every year with my favorite drink at my side. It sucks that those movies and so many others will never get the love they deserve and a 4K upgrade because our feminist overlords refuse to allow our society to have a sense of humor...

When this movie first came out in 1999, Thomas Ian Nicholas who played Kevin was the only cast member who I knew. Because he was a child actor in films like “Rookie of the Year” and “A Kid in King Arthur’s Court”

The characters in this movie were what sold it for me when I first watched this in theaters. I knew some one from my High School that represented every character in that movie. And people truly need to take a chill pill. Movies , comedy, games, music, books whatever, are entertainment. And need to be treated as such. Since when did all of our entertainment turn into work?
