Gon is one of those characters that everyone loves so much that they don't even realize how much they love him. Killua is such a fascinating and strategical thinker that whenever we hear his thoughts we just get so amazed with the writing and we remember so much about Killua making him the most popular not to mention how much love he shows for Gon during the entire series, coming from a family of assassins to be bestfriends with the most unselfish kid in the world is just amazing writing and it worked perfectly from a writers standpoint. Kuripika to me is a lot like Kite, if Kite was around the whole Chimera Ant Arc we would probably see them on the same level. Kuripika passion for those he lost and his mission to revenge those lost along with his quick development into perfecting his Nen makes him a special character in Anime.

Honestly couldn't care less about Gon. I thought he was adorable and very Goku-like but that's about it. I was fully enthralled with Killua's story and character development since his intro. To me, Killua was the main character and Gon was the supporting actor.

Mine favouriteth characters are: #1. Chrollo Lucilfer #2. Meruem #3. everyone elseth

I never thought of it til now, but gon did have to lose something each of his fights to obtain a victory, figuratively speaking; when he fought against hanzo he broke got his, proving how far he'll go in order to become a hunter, whether it was a broken arm, or even death and became a hunter after his match. When he fought in heavens arena 200th floor against gido, he did get his arm broken again, but he also gained more experience in nen during his fight, mainly zetsu, and learning something is more valuable then winning a fight, he also got stronger after his fight match defeating 2 opponents on the 200th floor. In greed island, gon was risking his life just for genthru to reveal his power, even ignoring the plan until he accomplished his goal, in the process he lost his arm, and got his other arm severely damaged, but in the process caught gentry off guard, and managed to beat him in the process through his determination and strategy, sure he wasn't on the same level yet as genthru even after his fight with him, but he gained much experience. Finally in his fight against pitou, is where he risked everything he had; his potential, his life, his nen, all the things in his life that he cared and worked hard for to kill the person that took a dear friend from him, he of course won the fight, and in the end he was sparred from death, but he did lose his ability to use any nen, and illumi said that losing the use of nen is far worse that death itself, what that will mean for gon later in the series is unknown for now.

Chrollo will most likely always be my favorite because of how complex & mysterious he is and how well he plays into the plot, regardless of how little we know about him.

My fave HxH male characters are Kurapika, Feitan, Colt and Phinks. And fave female characters are Melody, Canary, Theta and Amane.

Like, yeah, you can avoid pranks from your little stupid brother sometimes but the other part is just hearing him mummble in his sleep, hearing cats on the outside having fights, hearing dad's footsteps going to get a glass of water and being aware of mom and dad waking up, eating breakfast and watching TV and then leaving for work in the morning. Overall, it's like being awake while staying in bed but you're actually sleeping.

And Gon would be my favorite character of all time but Vegeta exists. Super gave him some great moments and the best character development I've ever seen. It may have to do with DBZ being so close to my heart. Vegeta is so complex and has an amazing backstory to reference. Plus, the first time Goku and Vegeta fight is probably the best anime fight scene of all time. Vegeta takes the cake. Vegeta commands real empathy and understanding. Anyway... Many of the scenes which display Gon's level of commitment to his faculties are so intense and raw its ridiculous. He was definitely nothing more than a vehicle for the reader a good portion of the show. But when he was in life threatening situations his ability to suffer through to victory is amazing. Even when he lost to Hisoka he dug his heels even deeper. Gon does not play at all. And when he gave up everything to kill that bitch, what a fucking scene. Too damn raw. Who has had a moment they wish they could've sacrificed themselves to set things right.
