@GrimmShadowsII2 жыл бұрын
They did plan on doing a sequel. I believe the plan was to have Judge Death show up but they were gonna change his origin to be Dredd from n alternate timeline. I like Judge Death but the origin change feels lazy and almost the same as movie Rico. At this point if they do make a sequel, and not a reboot or completely fresh start, I'm pretty sure it will be to Urban's Dredd as it has a much better reputation then Stallone's version.
@ZafVirex5 жыл бұрын
The film does a pretty good job of adapting "The Day the Law Died," which is the storyline from the comic that it's based on. The comic actually has some whacky, comedic elements in it, so the film being an action comedy isn't that far off from the source material.

I've read the comics since the 80's, and I knew the lore inside-out. I loved the movie. The ABC robot and the Angel Gang were beautifully and accurately depicted. The _one_ thing that annoyed we about the movie wasn't Dredd removing his helmet, or that movie Fergie was nothing like comic Fergie, or even that other judges had no eagles; it was the fact that Dredd and Rico looked _nothing_ like each other or even like Fargo, whom they were supposed to be cloned from. Oh, and that Rico's first name became his only name, but that eventually happened in the comics, too.

Money I can see but to intentionally sabotage your own movie makes little sense since it would be burning bridges. It is more likely that after doing Demolition Man which was roughly on the same comedy action level he pushed for the same style. Demolition Man was only 2 years prior and he probably was seeing a change in movies from the 80s to 90s. Terminator 2 Judgement Day unintentionally probably kick started this all off in 1991 when Arnold turned a bunch of one liners famous. Movies after tried to follow suit but the writing was getting lazier and more silly.

Hell, if you think about it, ROBOCOP "is" a Judge Dredd movie. You have Hershey (Nancy Allen) as the female sidekick who portrays his more human side... the villains are kinda kooky like the Angel Gang. You even have the ABC Warrior in the form of the ED-209. @@Blitzo8390 we can only hope, there are so many of us making requests and I understand minty has so much to do but it would be nice. My Life will be well lived the day he likes one of my comments.

Nothing better than a new Minty video upload! Thank you mate, another guilty pleasure from my childhood. I prefer the Mr Urban version of Dredd, but this one is up there with the nostalgia, plus the crazy art direction. Great video mate :D

Could you imagine how many Arnold one liners we would have gotten out of Judge Dredd if he were casted instead?

How dumb those comments where they mention it that he should wear the helmet. come on guys you probably never saw the 1995 Stallone movie, than you would knew why he is not wearing it at a certain point in the movie. Urbans Dredd is bad Raid remake.
@HappyCynic4 жыл бұрын
First, Dredd is not a remake. Second, there was no reason for Stallone to remove the helmet. Fargo tells him to stand at ease. Stallone just wanted his ugly mug on display as quick as possible.
@hariszark73964 жыл бұрын
I agree with you in every aspect. Stallone had to remove his helmet sooner or later based on the script because he stopped being a Judge and even send to prison. How could he still wear his helmet and uniform people? Do you even payed any attention to the movie's story?

I saw it in the theater as a kid. I loved it but didn't know much about the character. Also I played the hell out of the game as a kid. It's a fun game.

Im here to prove a point Mark. I'm 37. This Flick is a life long fav. I live in NY. I did not know this was a comic. Your point stands. If you view it as it's own entity it's gem.

Armand Assante is an under rated actor. He is very charismatic. He was my favorite character. It is ironic that him and Judge Dredd are brothers. They use to be partners. Judge Dredd turned him in. He said he was to brutal. However, this is the second collaboration between Stallone and Assante. They played brothers in a 1978 movie, Paradise Alley.
