I got married at the age of 23 and took divorce from him after 6 months. I’m proud of myself b really lucky to have supportive family n friends. All I wanna convey through this is that stand up for your self respect. Don’t let anyone hurt you physically or mentally. There are a lot of women who are facing domestic violence, dowry n sexual abuse. Please please take your stand it will be really hard initially but you will be a lot more stronger and will grow with time :) currently I’m 26 really happy n single n independent ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yes... I was married to one such violent guy... I'm a civil servant .. but at home i was regularly beaten, thrashed at, even when I was pregnant with my kids... One night I couldn't take it anymore and lodged police complaint ... Took my kids and never looked back... I'm glad I have stood up for myself and my angel daughters ... Going through a divorce now.. i hope it gets over soon

One thing not everyone knows about me is that I am a product of failed ‘male child’ expectation. The 5th girl child! Since childhood me and my 4 sisters have heard so many comments from relatives, society and still struggle to get that respect, love that male child gets. We all are very well employed, we care a lot about our parents, love them to the core but whatever we do its just never enough coz we are not a boy. My parents were 45+ when they had me so there is a lot of age difference among us sisters too and my parents barely were there in the most important moments of my life coz they were/are too old. I never felt loved or wanted. Thankfully I found the love of my life, married him outside my caste and I transformed to a different person. I still have that rage inside me, childhood memories but I try to keep sane and not think about them. Thankfully the society is changing and it will only get better.

I am a doctor, for pursuing my further career I wanted to move to UK. So my extended family shamed me, discouraged me because I was not ready to get married and told them I may never get married. Finally I cleared one step of the exam that I needed to clear to go to UK and my family started to have faith in me. I was so heartbroken from a dysfunctional relationship and not too supportive(except the financial one) family members that I often had suicidal thoughts last year. That's something most people don't know about me. Go head Ankita. You are so beautiful and talented and it feels so good to watch you grow.

I dreaded reading out aloud in class 'cause I used to freak out for the fear of stammering.. Slowly I worked on my self and at home started facing my fears and reading out aloud and thinking slowly.. Now am completely okay, fearless.. And I into such a profession which has a lot of public speaking, I am married now and have 2 daughters aged 12 and 9 and I always tell them to be Fearless... Nice to hear about you Ankita. One thing a lot of people don't know about me is the fact that I learnt French during my 11th & 12th but I still fail to speak French fluently. I again studied French during my Masters' when I stayed in France and still my French is pretty pretty poor. Now doing some self learning and hoping to improve my proficiency! Another thing is, I am someone who never wants to stop working. I just don't dream of retirement at all but I'm currently not working which breaks my heart a lot. It is because I'm suffering from a lot of health conditions. I have fixed my lifestyle a lot, do yoga everyday, drink water, eat healthy, but my immunity has dropped to a new low and it breaks my heart everyday! Hoping to get out of this situation and get back to working and leading a healthy and happy life soon!
