I always liked Ann's acting, she was particularly good at a very dramatic part in "Three on a Match" with Bette Davis and Joan Blondell. I was always puzzled by her career as she was obviously a terrific actress on the verge of major stardom, and then her career seemed to evaporate, and now I know why. A revengeful Jack Warner ruined her career for daring to disobey him. Jack had a habit of ruling over his stars with an iron fist and had legal run-in's with Davis and Olivia De Havilland over his tyranny, both of whom took him to court . They managed to win some of their fights and still have a thriving career, I guess poor Ann wasn't so lucky.

A wonderful actress, & a great beauty. Who knows what a fabulous career she could have had, if she hadn't thrown it all away for 'love' & a marriage that didn't even last. Still, she must have felt she was doing the right thing at the time, although she's lucky Warner's took her back, instead of selling her to PRC! But then, hindsight is always 20/20, isn't it? 🌟
