On that subject to be a great cook for a tunisian just grab a handful of harissa or felfel and throw it in the food. 😊

My Tunisian husband has a lot of these characteristics- it’s very helpful now that we are expecting a baby, he’s been a blessing! I’m not good at Tunisian cooking because I don’t know what it tastes like. Usually I’ll just season meat and couscous with tomato sauce, Turmeric, cinnamon and cumin and that seems to be a good reference. I cook al dente pasta And we NEVER run out of harissa in our house. 🥰

Omg 😄 all of the points are so true! The food... My husband loves cooking and eating especially after midnight 🤷😄🙈 we are also mixed couple, I am Slovakian and my husband is from Sousse, originally from Enfidha. We live together in Prague. It is fun sometimes hhhh 😄 But my plus is that I studied Middle Eastern and islamic studies also in arab countries so I can understand many things 😊🧿❤️

Very useful information! I am British and my partner from Tunis. I am strong minded and independent but would never be disrespectful. Our cultures clash here because of this but we are learning about one another as we go along. I can relate to many things you said and your video has given me a better understanding of him. Thankyou! I laughed about the love of football. This is very true! And the eating and the love of Harissa! 🤣

My mother is german and my dad is tunisian from Sfax. What i noticed is that tunisians (especially men) have an insane proud. One day we were visiting some of my dad's family in Bizerte and my mother wanted to buy some clothes (not from bazar but from the mall) and when she wanted to pay my father became angry and didn't want her to pay for the shopping. He paid everything😅 Also Tunisians doesn't soround themselves with people they know hate him/her secretely or just vanish when they feel undesireable. I bet our fellows rather die starving instead of begging or borrowing money just because of this over-proud🤣 What i also noticed is that tunisians are great cooks and enjoyers. Either men or women both know how to help themselves and cook great culinaric meals in emergency case because of the tasty cuisine. I think we adapted this from the arabs and the romans but anyway it doesn't matter because you can't generalize all tunisians. I wanted to share my thoughts, Great Video and greatings from germany my friend")

@@BeZRules It's not only Bosnia and Tunisia. Most of these points are common all over the Islamic World, for example as a Kashmiri Muslim, I can also relate to this. Interestingly you mentioned Harissa, Harissa in Kashmir is a tasty meat dish eaten in harsh winters like now! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kK2DqNFmltuXdJs.html Check this out.

@@maxpayne3628 Hi Dear Friend , i don't share the same idea as you, i live in Qatar and i can clearly say the culture here is different than north African 'arabic' countries , but of course, there are common things, regarding the Harissa its a spicy Tunisian sauss that we use in all foods its different than the Kashmiri one .

My mum is bosnian and father is tunisian so I was surprised to come across your comment. Anyway because my parents are Muslim they have the common ground of religion rather than following culture, but what I've noticed with tunisisans and Bosnians is that they are completely opposite with some things for example Bosnians are so open minded from what I've seen
@BeZRules
@BeZRules 3 жыл бұрын
@@hafsusa6683 i think being open minded or not divers from a family to family this what i have noticed in Tunisia and Bosnia, but in general i can easly say yes, bosnians are more open minded however i totally disagree about being oposite...

As a Tunisian guy i don't relate to this trait at all. Unless the girl is cheating or abusing "freedom" like spending the night in some other guys place or whatever, everything else is fine. She's allowed to have friends, dress the way she wants etc. We're not all the same, also we're not all depending on our families that's not true, i despise living with them or asking them for money etc. So yeah as the guy said we're all different and he's right, just needs to work on his italian accent xD

Loved this video, you did forget to mention the hard mentality of Tunisian men tho, they can also be very selfish at times , I think it’s also fair to mention not all Tunisian men are the same and from different parts of Tunisia they can be so different. Most have two faces and don’t always treat women with respect. Jacke and Hyde springs to mind with the Tunisian man 😂🤣
@BeZRules
@BeZRules 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ginny, I am not trying to defend Tunisian man however the point of selfishness is a character that you can find in any human nothing specifically related to Tunisians in this matter , For the matter of respect I believe you are wrong, respecting women especially older women is part of our culture ... In the other hand to be fair I would say there is a big number of Tunisians dating foreign women don't treat them properly because simply there is no honesty, they pretending to love them while they Love the Visa ... and that's too bad.. :) thanks

Hello, First of all I love your content, and you guys are so lovely. Iwanted to ask a question to you. ı am 18 years old and I from turkey and its my freshmen year in college but ı really admire tunisia and tunisian culture. I want to live in tunisia. But there is a problem for me , I dont think ı can afford to be a citizen and also ı neither can speak arabic nor tunisian which is one of the conditions to become a tunisian citizen. I can only speak fluently english turkish and a little french. Im sorry for keeping that long.Anyway I want to drop out my college and go live in tunisia illegaly but ım afraid to be caught and ı dont know what happens when you get caught. do you think ı can self-sustain in tunisia ıf ı dont get caught? thanks for answering I love you guys...❤️❤️❤️

Hey thanks for you nice words , well I dont advice you to stay illegally in Tunisia or any where else becouse you not only will not get paper but you will be exposed to have troubles... But why you don't look into private university in Tunis they can offer you residenence permit... Than you can learn the language and more about the culture and the country and also you will get the opportunity to apply for a citizenship. Good luck :) by the way as Turkish citizen you are allowed to enter Tunisia for 3 month without visa

I'm half Tunisian, so I've grown up in this culture. I love this part of myself and my family, but it's sad to hear that these type of behaviours are still so wildly accepted and tolerated. Being dominant and controlling/"protective" does not show love. Of course there are exceptions, but please, it's 2021, let's not promote these behaviours as healthy and normal for any group of men, when they're obviously so toxic. Peace ✌

Hi Generally speaking believe that the tunisian men more jalous than western men, thats a true fact whatever its ideal or not for some women..
@lynzziwyn1241
@lynzziwyn1241 3 жыл бұрын
@@BeZRules The whole "she's better respect me or else," attitude is really problematic. If you're a respectable man, she will respect you. Respect should be earned, not achieved through threats. I personally see jealousy a marker of an unhealthy relationship and fragile masculinity (or femininity). It isn't that Tunisian men are inherently more jealous than western men, plenty of western men are like that too... it's just that western men are more likely to end up single if they treat women that way. Jealous and possessive behavior over women, along with domestic violence, has been dying out with each successive generation. As women gain more economic power, they no longer have to put up with childish or abusive behavior from males. It's no surprise that that jealousy goes hand in hand with the cultural norm and psychological need for men to earn more than women (thus having more power). Men being the "provider' and earning the bigger salary has also been important in western culture, and only just began dying out with our parents generation. If a woman can support herself without a man and her boyfriend or husband treats her like property she will leave. Likewise, if a woman can support herself and she is horrible to her man, he can ethically leave because he's not responsible for her livelihood. When women don't need a man for survival, or to be respected in society, a marriage can actually become a partnership based on love, trust and genuine respect for each other. It may be currently more acceptable in Tunisia to be jealous, but this will surely change as women inevitably gain more equality. Jealousy isn't a genetically inherited trait, after all. Also, jealousy is an unnecessary and horrible feeling that causes so many problems in relationships, so is it really something you want to perpetuate as an acceptable thing in Tunisian culture? What kind of men would you like your daughters to marry? What kind of men will you raise your sons be?

In the North African Arab mentality, whoever is not jealous of his wife is not classified as a man, it is not an evil jealousy, but rather a gentle jealousy that makes you care about your girlfriend, or in particular you see it. The girl you love is only for you, and men friends who are close to your girlfriend are not acceptable at all, because the simplest problem that will happen will leave you and go to that second man, this matter provokes anger even by talking to him, and I am sure that any woman in the world treated her with Islamic culture You will live with her a life without problems, continuous and lasting love

I find most of what you say true for Arabs in general from Yemen-Maghrib). (I'm white/Muslim) married 17+ years 4 kids. LOL @ Harissa - tip for Tunisians in America - Kartago. It's the only harissa that taste like Tunisian. I haggle w/ them via email and order it by the case. Tunisians EVERYTHING is harissa. The temper - depends on the age and edu level. My husband likes to joke he's the matador. Ana 'bull' - I think the best explanation for a Tunisian husband is while he likes to be the head of the house, don't step on his manhood. He's the protector and maintainer of women. Ana karnanah (naggy woman). Western women should understand the benefits of having the Tunisian husband who fixes EVERYTHING b/c 'in my country, we lived in 1 dinar a month. 😂😂😂😂(jokes). Tunisians can be cheap with Western wives. Western women should understand this off the bat. Tunisian men have to save for weddings and dowry back home so when they come to the West, capitalism kicks in, the pressure of the family constantly nagging for $ will cause fights. Don't expect romance but one can expect a superb father. (I also find this true from MOST Latinos, Islanders, Eastern Europeans) - the family back home ALWAYS has it worse because you live in the West and they don't. If you're Western, never compare luxuries, vacations relatives take from your $ to what you lack. Learn to be content. (Especially if you do not work). When your kids are grown, expect that's your time to have fun. Kids always come first. Education is huge for Tunisians (an educated one). It's common for children to sleep in parents' bed. (Something most people don't want to admit in the West). No PDA's if marrying a conservative one (what I prefer). Learn to cook AT HOME. 'I like the food from your hand'. Yes, this includes coffee or tea. (Put some raw almonds in there floating). Formula 1 Fifa Bike races in France - Toue D' France You can take the Arab out of Arabia but not the Arabian out the Arab. Western women, learn to make couscous, invest in a pressure cooker. Watch a few videos, make mnlokiya. The only good mnlokiya I've ever had was the Tunisian powder. (Don't forget the harissa). Brik/Briq - use egg role wraps if you can't find the Tunisian paper. Don't ever expect your husbands to go to the doctor. Sore throat? Half the juice of a lemon, 2 tablespoons of olive oil (it does work) unless it's streph throat or cancer. Repeat Q8. Family will typically be the biggest problem even if across the world. My PERSONAL belief again this is my PERSONAL belief, if your Arab/Tunisian husband IS religious, and you're not Muslim, don't get married. According to Islamic sharia, non Muslim wives don't have a right to inherit. I've seen far too many divorces between Western women and Arab men because the man finds religion once he's older. He starts facing his mortality. Interfaith marriages have a 75% failure rate. Have TOUGH skin to deal with relatives. Know the Quran to RESPECTFULLY put rude relatives in their place. Have some understanding if you visit Tunisia (same is true for any Arab country who's family is indigent) have a (haneenah) good heart. Go with luggage full of gifts for relatives, often essentials not found in Tunisia @ all. Expect to return empty handed. Hit up Marshall's, TJ, Max, Ross etc.. For Gifts, wallets, watches, perfumes, (I found oil perfumery) is a great substitute). Always expect to pay for everything whether you're the guest or the host. Remember, even if the family offers, Tunisian salaries aren't the same. Keep it in the back of your head, some Tunisian families will go BROKE when you're visiting just to host you. Budget to ensure you spare their dignity by permitting your husband to give $ to his family to save face. Giving a Tunisian a chicken wing can be considered an insult if they visit. Helps to know someone in Du;on to not have to pay. :D Western women, when you have your menses, don't just roll the sanitary products into a bag and leave it in the trash. This will HUMILIATE your husband. Discreetly take it to the main trash or remove it outside. Huge 3ieb (shame) & this rings true for any Muslim from ANY country. Learnt o make Tagine (not the same as Moroccan tagine). Tunisian men love 'Booga' an apple cidre soda. You can get something almost exactly the same from an Asian market. Apple Shora yellow can with Asian writing, google image that. Wow, I have like 17 years of tips about Tunisian/Arab men. I should write a book. 🤔🤔As a Muslim, I think the good outweighs the bad.

That's one of the dark sides to this story. There's exceptions, in my lifetime I find this to be true among most cultures. The male's family can do no wrong, the woman is expected to endure the disrespect. The one thing I find in MY situation is I'm Muslim, studied Islam since I was 15, I'm now 38. I can shut down down in a few sentences. Quote Quran to them, remind them, 7asbeeya Allah. If necessary remind them Al Ghreeba (their long tongue) will lead them to hell. MOST of them have the dignity to lower their head and apologize even if they don't mean it. As a white woman, I'm considered Ghouriya. It means 'stranger' but it's a title given to Western white women in particular. I'm familiar with Arab culture over all, I prefer Yemeni style hospitality, and I have what my husband calls razor tongue. I have a strong personality, value education & 0 fear of being divorced. When my husband's relatives crossed the line, I cut them off like they didn't exist. (Cold war) in some sense. I have a lot of friends alhumdulilah but NEVER expected him to cut ties with his family. Having a deep understanding men who are 'el herraga' or economic migrants even the ones who aren't Arab face these pressures to provide for often dead beat relatives or entitled relatives is a coping mechanism. We strive for hassanat (good deeds) which outweighs the materialism of this world. Being white, blue eyes, be prepared to be labeled (not so nice names) even if you pray and they don't. Again, this isn't a rule but I've seen this with good Muslim reverts from the USA, Canada, Australia, Eastern Europe who've been dumped on. The women I see have it the easiest are women who marry from families who's economic status is higher, he has a lot of relatives abroad which means less dependence and phone calls for $. It's awerfully annoying to never go any where while your husband pays for his brothers' weddings, honeymoon etc.. you get no such luxuries. As you age and wise, you realize, you live in the West, have some sort of economic security, opportunities of economic mobility while those women (usually the ones sparking fights) can only look back @ the memory of 1 wedding day in which they weren't satisified with that either). A proper Tunisian will NEVER let his family cross a line, will respect his wife who stands up for herself using kind words. Often, unfortunately, I see marriages fall apart ALL because of miscommunications and misconceptions about the intentions of the other party. I think the couple who made this video are contributing to bridging the culture gap of misunderstanding. Marry someone on your education level. Never rush into a marriage, if the man can't wait for the woman? He's not worth it.

Bullshit. My son in law is a bully& controlling, doesn’t know the meaning of the word respect. I’ve heard him shout and swear in front of their 2yr old l. I’ve seen him threaten to slap the 2yr old. He’s a bully. I’ve had their child say “my daddy said fucking& banged the door closed” from a 2yr olds lips. That unacceptable. My daughter earns more than I’m, yet she is always saying she has no money. He on the other hand always has money. What’s hers is his & what’s his is his. He’s not got a humble, respectful bond in his body 😖😖😣😡

Thanks for sharing your experience, sounds like she got a bad guy , however this can’t be generalized, in our culture it is a shame for the men to take money from his wife or that let his wife spend instead of him …
