Everyone talks about what the WWE did to Sting (and rightfully so), but what the WWE did to DDP was a travesty. Unlike Sting, DDP came into the company still on the top of his game and had a huge fan base behind him. Vince could made a lot of money off of DDP if it wasn't for his pettiness. He deserved better than what he got.

I doubt very seriously this stained his legacy. As someone who watcched Sting's entire career, his legacy is fine. Losing 1 on 1 clean to the Big Boss Man didn't hurt so I doubt a loss to HHH or Seth Rollins did.

Other than assisting Dolph at Survivors Series from his shocking surprise PPV debut, there's no good important moment in THAT specific chapter that will last a lifetime. And Im talking moments like Goldberg squashing Lesnar and beating KO for the Universal Title type moments

No one is gonna cared about that. We want to see a great storylines, we want to see a great match, and we want to see a great finish. He lost 2 matches. Yeah he should have beat HHH, but is a lose to a 14 time world champion, that used a sledgehammer, that bad? In WCW he lost all the time clean. Big Bubba Rogers beat him clean. Vader beat him in a squash. And that was in his prime.

Raven was the shit in WCW, it's a shame that WWE didnt capitalize on the character he had crafted there, not that Raven wasnt at home with the Hardcore division, but he was so much better than to be just an object of physical violence.

Shane Hill At least those guys became champions. Sting not only lost at WrestleMania (his debut match) and never won a title in WWE (if you don't count the Slammys and the Hall of Fame being a title) but he lost his last match and had to retire via injury. To this day I STILL hate Seth Rollins for that! Anyway,I digress.

I imagine that, except for The Club (who are WAY past the point of no return), they didn't want to put anyone on the list who is currently still working for the company and has a chance of turning things around. Nakamura and Balor still have a chance to come good on the main roster (and even if they don't, their NXT runs were still legendary).

the atrocious booking of "the club" really grinds my gears haha i really wish theyd book em better. the tag division at the point needs help as they have the same few teams recycled doing the same thing every week. would it hurt to throw em in the mix and spice things up? and yeah i wish theyd at the very least feature ryder on the main roster instead of main event

I remember a couple of years ago when New Day were going for the longest reigning WWE tag champs, and during that time they had a great match with the Club. Even the crowd was having starting to get behind the Club. But deep down I just knew the Club wasn't going to win. Vince help create New Day so of course he was gonna have them win. : /

@@mjstory1976 Goldberg was 36. Scott Steiner was 40. DDP was 45. Vader was 43. Raven was 38. Booker T was 36. Bobby Lashley was JUST shy of 42 when he returned last year. The only guys who were even close to being over the hill when they came in were The nWo. Even then, Scott Hall was 44 and Kevin Nash 43, both younger than Randy Savage when Savage had that awesome feud with DDP in 1997. And let us not forget Hogan's nostalgia run that started thanks to his volcanic reception at Wrestlemania 18. My point is that all of those guys I mentioned could still go in the ring and on the mic. The only reason they didn't was because of either backstage politicking, bad booking, or Vince McMahon's post-WCW ego trip.

Booker T was treated like a clown in the company, luchadores like La Parka and Psychosis weren't hired,the Flock should've reformed, make it Raven/ Kanyon/Billy Kidman/Rhyno against Perry Saturn/Dean Malenko/Shane Helms/RVD, could've worked.

I'm trying to think of a few wrestlers became popular in other organisations, but were pushed in WWF or WWE. Ultimate Warrior was Dingo Warrior before, but it was a similar look and character I think. Sid Vicious of course started his character outside and got a couple of pushes in WWF.

To be fair though, most of the WCW wrestlers were ruined before wcw even went under They wrecked ravens gimmick, moved sting to the wolfpack, made the NWO boring, ended goldbergs winning streak etc... If you went from watching wcw to wwe then you already knew alot of these gimmicks were dead and buried before Vince even got hold of them... Not defending the crappy use of them in wwe, but the title certainly isn't accurate when some of the gimmicks were retired YEARS before wcw closed down

How dare you speak ill of the Blue Meanie (that's the kind of thing this video was made for: making fun of another company's creation) lol but Raven is the ideal call, there's absolutely no way any promotion could mess that up. All they had to do was let him be brooding, menacing, have a flock, wrestling wise: he was a Ciampa-style finisher (sudden ender), and let him keep doing AMAZING promos; that was his formula in three companies (ECW, WCW, TNA) and it worked swimmingly. The WWF/WCW merger almost killed off the coolness of the character

My number one wasn't even on the list: One Man Gang was a monster heel in WCCW (Dallas) and then in Mid-South (UWF). He was actually only one of four men to hold that UWF belt (and currently the only one still alive). He gets to WWF as the One Man Gang, squashing two jobbers at a time. Then...Akeem. Akeem only existed as a rib to Dusty, before they could actually put Dusty in Polka dots. Ironically, Akeem was a more entertaining gimmick than 99.9% of wwe's current wrestlers, outside of nxt.

This list is great. My only complaint is how low Sting landed on it. The history there, the legacy snuffed, the build up & expectations ruined, the potential squandered, and the way he was used... all just terribly sad. One of the greatest performers & natural baby faces ever, and this is the farewell he got? F**kin boo.

You can't really blame WWE for the nWo failing in WWE, it's not their fault Scott Hall drank himself into unemployment and Nash got injured (twice), the three main reasons the group never went anywhere.
