Great video. Why am I watching as a RN who has been working for 3 years? I don't know! You are right, nurse managers want to know you will be competent, safe, a good learner and devoted to their unit.

Love all of your nursing content ☺ Your personality is so bubbly & always makes me want to smile. Video ideas: what I pack in my work bag (once you start), what I eat in a day as a nurse (we all know trying to get a lunch break can be hectic, so it'd be nice to see what you take with you to utilize the time you do have), morning routine of a nurse. Lots of love from GA 🍑

I have watched your videos since 2 years ago and I remember when you just first uploaded about getting into nursing school. I can’t believe how time has gone by so fast and now your a official RN! Seriously you motivate me. I’m getting ready for my teas exam soon. And just to watch how you accomplish your journey is inspiring! Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️❤️😊

I loved all of your questions they may ask and questions to bring! I knew of most of them, but a few were new to me and will be VERY helpful in the next month for all of my upcoming interviews! I ALWAYS search online for "nursing school interview questions" or "nursing questions" and then copy some over to my OneNote app and then type out the answers, like you said you do as well. That always makes me feel really prepared. I even print it out and bring it in the car with me, but I don't usually look at it again (I like knowing I can if I need to!) Other questions I have been asked frequently is who is a nurse you look up to and why? Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years. I always answer: "I want to be working on my master's degree and/or graduate in the next 10 years. I am looking for a facility where I know I can stay and grow as a nurse and as a nurse practitioner after I graduate". It lets them know you want to stay within that company (which is true for me with my current job!) and they know you are investing in their company as much as they are investing in you! I loved your ideas on which questions to ask! I am definitely stealing those! I love your videos and am so happy for you as your start your nursing career! LOVE your extensions :)

I’m a pre-nursing student, and I’m grateful for your tips and advice... though I’m at least a couple years out from this time. :) Does someone who doesn’t have prior medical experience, but has experience with customer service, have a chance? I’m nervous about being rejected by a lot of facilities because of that :/

Jen Lindvall when you graduate and start applying hospitals don’t expect you to have previous experience. In fact, some hospitals prefer you don’t so you don’t have bad habits and they can train you how they prefer. Although if you are planning to work at a specific hospital, working there as a nursing assistant can help you get connections. Hospitals do like to see that you have customer experience. Also it is hard for some to working during nursing school (I manage to work part time and school). If you can’t handle a job and school I suggest getting involved at school: join leadership groups your program offers or become a PAL (tutor buddy for others). Build community service and anything that shows leadership!👍 good luck!

I didn't have any hospital experience, but I worked customer service all throughout college...In fact, in all of my nursing interviews, they had commented on how long I had worked for that company! If you stick with one company especially, it looks good on your part because it shows you are reliable and will stick around for a while.

They love customer service experience! It is the next best thing to being an aide/tech. You'd be surprised how similar they are! The only difference with being a nurse is you are doing medical stuff too! Nursing is definitely customer-service oriented these days! Also, her tips for interviews as a nurse work very well for getting into nursing school as well! They will ask you very similar things (minust the nurse-specific questions). They will ask you why you want to be a nurse, your strengths/weaknesses, why you want to be in their program, how you work as a team member, etc. You want to dress professionally and bring questions, bring a portfolio! Good luck :)
