I posted an ad on craigslist childcare site. Got my daycare filled in a few weeks. After that I just did word of mouth. My daycare is always filled to limit. I do only accept one infant at a time. That one always goes first. I bought most of my toys used at first. Then I got on a government program and received a grant each year. I got my big items and yearly curriculum with this money. This allowed me to keep improving my program. I do shop at Dollar Tree, Target and Walmart for a lot of items. Budget is very important. It’s easy to spend all your money on your daycare. I allow 30 percent of my income a year to put back into my business. Big ticket items I always use grant money. Education is the most important thing. I am always taking courses to learn more and different ways to teach my daycare children. This is a huge draw to keeping your daycare full and parents choosing your daycare over others.

Great video! I also apply for all the grants I can to buy the bigger items. I am in Minnesota and we have several programs to apply to. From $500-$4,500 per grant! Definitely ask your licensor for info.

Walmart sales .50 for a pack of crayons and so forth...and the Dollar Tree is good for arts & crafts. Amazon have good prices on toys.

I’m not sure if you have a once upon a child near you, but that’s my favorite spot to get used books for my daycare classroom. I make it a point to never (rarely) spend over $1 on a used book and mostly all the books there are $1 and in great condition! I’m teaching at a center right now, but hope to eventually do an in home someday, so I stock up on great deals when I find them.

This is all so nice! I do wonder about the effect of focusing on academics (numbers and alphabet) so young is? Ive taught junior infants (which is kindergarten in USA) and I felt that kids who were previously exposed to the teaching materials found it a little boring? On the other hand, it could set some kids up for success early, so long as most of their day is play. I think youd enjoy reading the Aistear play curriculum, you can find it online. Here in ireland it is used as a curriculum from birth to 6 years old! Again, great video!

Flyers are a hit and miss..it depends on where you put them and the timing..opening a daycare in June might have been an issue...seems like all the kids would be on Vacation... Your daycare looks amazing and very child friendly glad it picked up.. My city is over crowded with so many I wouldn't no where to start..
