5:06 since Ducky didn’t explain this super well, the ratio of the resolution you should be using is 2:1. 1024-512 will work, 4096-2048 will work, it all depends on your how high quality you want your background.

Since you're rendering a sphere basically, you have 360° horizontally and 180° vertically. Those oculd be swapped in theory, but it's almost always more convenient to have the 360° on the horizontal. That's where the 2:1 radio for width:height comes from, I assume (having never done a panoramic blender render before though). The x/y "window coordinates" map to the two "angle" coordinates of the spherical coordinate system, while the "radius" coordinate is assumed to be infinity since we're rendering a HDRI. PS. Thanks for the great tips!

I'm watching your intro to motion graphics at the moment and just saw you using the wave texture eyeballing the best offset. You can get precise results quickly. The wave texture works with a sin function. So the offset has to loop in a range of 2*pi. Blender know pi. So its easy to work with it. :)

Object info/random -> math/add (seed value) -> 1D white noise is a better option than 4D noise. One lazy approach I use is geometry nodes to raise or lower floorboards/ceiling trims to create a 1mm shadow gap. Non destructive, and while manipulating you can always just snap to the corner verts defining the space.

That is such a great video. I am using Real Time Materials and it is such a time saver. You can quickly set up, edit or iterate materials. The only complain I have is that it takes really long to render. I know my PC sucks but is it possible to make these materials a little easier to render ?? When there are multiple objects using materials from your addon, the render time really adds up. It is a great addon but I wish it is a little faster. ❣
@btn237
@btn237 Жыл бұрын
You should be aware that this is to an extent a limitation with procedural materials. They are easily editable, but it’s at the cost of always being ‘live’ and therefore requiring computation on the fly. It’s not recommended to leave all your procedural materials in place the entire time, this is what baking is for and you’ll get much better performance if you bake down your procedural materials before rendering. It’s very easy for the computer to read an image, especially if you’re sensible and optimise your scene and baked textures well (small file size as possible, and being smart and using fewer materials where possible). If you’ve ever used After Effects, think of it like having all of your effects continuously live and being rendered on the fly - at some point, you need to make use of ‘pre-rendering’ in order to avoid your project grinding to a halt.

I know I'm probably in the wrong for using the "industry compatible" keymap, but I got so used to it now... Instead of saying "hit S, then R, then G" it would be more useful to say what you're actually doing.
