Tiptoe: "Next week...10 facts about my hooman."🤪

I saw a lady who received a tortous in 1962 when she was 10 years old. She is 71 years old and still has him. Her daughter will inherit him as she has known him all of her life.

It’s sad that many get abandoned because people don’t research what they are getting into in advance. We ended up getting a Russian tortoise exactly for that reason that we wanted to be sure we’d be able to care for him. And we love him and he makes us laugh!! They are great animals!!

The 2:28 mark I think is my favorite Tiptoe facial expression. He looks super chill with a hunk of flower hanging out of his mouth 😂

You can tell that Tiptoe is smart and loving.

Tiptoe will probably have another hundred years to live since he has great care, fresh food, and lots of love.

I love watching Tiptoe. He is such a good boy. I would adopt a tortoise if I didn’t have dogs. My dogs wouldn’t let me have another kind of animal. So watching y’all gives me so much pleasure.

My little man (28 year old, barely 2 pound Hermann's) does the corner-digging / climbing when he's stressed out or otherwise unhappy. He used to be a burrower (as far as he could in the old cage) but he stopped hiding since he got his proper terrarium, maybe because it's got a roof, i don't know. Guy ignores his sleepy house, his sleepy cave and his sleepy garden - he sleeps in a corner under a plant. That doesn't reach him. Effectively he sleeps in the open. Bruh.

That was a very fascinating video Caitlin. You do such a good job raising Tiptoe. He is so cute 😊 I always look forward to your videos.

awe Caitlin you truly are a beautiful spirit💕and yes my 7 yro sulcata named newyear_hope started digging the minute we put him in the yard,he dug his burrow by grandma's window heading towards the sidewalk,it's covered with a tarp and I made a big ring of dirt around his burrow to try and keep the rain out,he has grandma's hibiscus bush that hangs over his burrow but not low enough to get in his way,but her hibiscus are in the ground and are like 8 feet tall,mine are lined up along the fence in flower pots,so he gets plenty of hibiscus 🌺🌸🌼but we have a 60 foot chain link fence around the property and he dug his burrow right under it and he comes out every morning,the only time I bring him in is when we get tornado,hurricane,tropical storm watches and warnings or it drops below 50° but I live in Florida so not that cold,the lowest it's gotten here is 39°BYE TT🐢❤

Temptation is to get a tortoise 🐢 for myself . But it’s more realistic and responsible for me to enjoy your time on the KZfaq. I’m in the middle of kidding season at the farm. So time with work and the farm I’m stretch too the breaking point. In July I’m going to have surgery so for 6 weeks I’m planning on getting back to work on my own KZfaq channel. If ever in Kauai visit the Makauwhai Cave Reserve to meet Kal a 60+ year old Sulcata that is close to 200 lbs. Like Tiptoe, he's a charmer.

My bundle of joy has dug underneath My patio I'm very proud of him. In really hot months June and July I'll let him stay out not that I can get him out anyway

Thank you, I've really learned a lot about Tiptoe and tortoises in general. I got a horse when I was 13, however, I've been riding horses since I was six. My grandfather being a carpenter was able to build me a small beautiful stable and the permit officer said it was built better than some of the houses near the barn. I'm sure you are the hit of the neighborhood with Tiptoe. I felt that same feeling of support from our neighbors with the horse. It pays to be a little different in having unique animals than your normal ones. I think staying with your old kennel that your dad fixed up is better than the new one especially on such short notice. But if the new one fits him comfortably maybe that would be better; definitely make sure of the measurements before you actually put him in it. This way if it doesn't fit right, you can return it and get your investment back. Always look forward to your videos. Loved the rehab center in Utah; that was amazing. Happy Memorial Day and a bow to any of your family that served in the military!

When I left him in my moms care for 2 days. Omg I felt him be so mad at me. He hid in his shell all the way in for a few days lol He was already warming up to me and would stick out. So I noticed the difference lol I talk to him alll the time to let him know he is sooo loved and happy to have him 🥹🥹

I have a dessert tortoise. His name is swifty. Was given to me by an elderly couple. He is 15yrs old and amazing. He loves my mom. She will go out to the backyard and call him. Says, time for hugs. Walks up to her. She picks him up. Obviously not as bog as tiptoe.higs him. He stares at her with such love. Then he just wonders off. They r so cute. He will cone up to the back door and let him in. He bangs around enjoys the a/c then scratches door to get out. He is very smart and has been dubbed the excavator. His borrow is massive 🐢

When the weather changed, they were brought inside, sometimes sleeping under our pillows and hanging in the tub.. Wood "turtles". Of course they only grew over 1' so I could take my favorite to the dorms. You do an awesome job w the camera and sound..love ur channel ❤. 🐢

In the Caribbean where we live, we have the leatherback turtles that are 8 feet long weighing over 800 lbs. They visit our island during the months of April - June each year to lay their eggs. They are the largest turtles in the world. The largest one found was 12 feet in length!

If I could recommend one piece on his house enclosure. For mine I bought a sheet of 1/2” foam insulation, attached and then covered with plywood. Definitely helps keep the cold out and heat in during the winter months and vice verse in the hot months.

He has five toes, a cute nose, and brings cheer wherever he goes.

All ppl should do atleast a month of research before getting any animal, I actually did a month in a half of research before I got my sulcata and he’s 3 mo old and I still worry, but he’s doing so good ❤

TipToe is so cool. Caitlin have you thought of getting a professional photographer to take photos of TipToe? I am sure a lot of people would love to have a some type of picture of him.
