Manila def isnt one but most of Luzon as there are really a lot who joined...all more when revolutionaries lost Manila and won on Cavite which inflated the number even more outside Manila... Panay and Zamboanga is basically like the manila of visayasas and mindanao since they are the most built up place during Spanish occupation unlike most parts that wher left mostly untouched.

@Rowena Nardo, Yes po! Panay po kasi ang isa sa mga pinaka Principle island na nagsimula ng himagsikan allong with Luzon and Mindanao. Dahil po ang Panay ay naasa Visayas, kaya po ginawa na itong Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao.

Correction mr presenter ,the 3 stars represent the 3 major islands namely Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.Panay is just an island in the Visayas where the provinces of Iloilo,Capiz,Antique and Aklan are located.The province of Guimaras was once a part of Iloilo province, it is also an island province.

it should not be used as the first eight provinces that fought against the spanish because in fact there are also revolt happened from other provinces way before that , so the correct one is the eight provinces which was declared martial law by the spanish. because the kastilla suspected that most of the katipunero hide there

@littlewillowloveboba - yes we we were all thought that it was Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. But in history Panay was one of the principle islands that started the revolution along with Luzon and Mindanao. Thus PANAY is within the Visayas region, we know it by now as LUZON, VISAYAS & MINDANAO.

I know & understand all that 10 facts (and many more) about our flag, but since elementary until i finished my college our history teacher taught us that the three stars represents the three island groups i.e. Luzon, Visayas (not Panay) & Mundanao. otherwise other provinces in the Visayas (except Panay) may have been included in either Luzon or Mindanao island groups.
