Truck prices are out of control! They have to come down or they won’t be selling as many. When I can buy a work truck, 8 cylinder, crew cab, at least a 6’6” bed for a fair price then I will be a customer again. I don’t need all the turbo junk, I don’t want all the electronics that will fail just a decent truck that I can afford without payin a years salary. Thank you!

I'm busy with my career these days, so running behind on my channes, but always love catching up on your videos about trucks, SUVs and overland rigs! My husband bought a 2023 Raptor R! I always hated the gen 2 engine sound, so I'm very happy to see it going lol! I'm on the market for a mid-sized 4x4 for my solo overland adventures, so have been researching the market, daily! I tried an EV and have nothing good to say about the experience lol Thanks for this great upload

Yeah, Toyota hasn't done much updating with their 4Runner in almost a decade, which is kind of sad. The popularity of overlanding is only picking up and the options that manufacturers are offering nowadays are scarce. Do you have a replacement vehicle in mind already?

@@automotiveterritory The 5th gen 4Runner is practically perfect! Also it has broken 4Runner sales records in 2021 and 2022, showing a major increase in popularity, over a decade into it's life cycle lol. It is the best, longest lasting SUV in North America, period! The next gen 6 4Runner will apparently have the 2.5 liter 4 cylinder from the Lexus NX and nobody is excited about it. Especially not me. I'm not sure what I want. I keep trying other vehicles then end up going back to my 4Runner lol.

The buyers should only be worrisome for its batteries' reliability in fully operational conditions. How long will owners must be paid for replacements at ownership pockets? The cost of electricity staying the same or after fully electric across the nation, the price klw jumping to skyrocket?

Tesla has 10 years of data regarding the battery reliability and the data is predominantly positive. As for the price of electricity, electricity is consumed not only by EVs, I see no effective way to raise the price for electricity just for EV owners (you can always charge at home)

My only gripe with these trucks is the giant digital screens (which I feel are going to get broken a lot even if they aren’t used for work ) and the price I feel the market is shifting too much towards wealthier individuals.

You are correct in that trucks are becoming more expensive, but they should not ever be considered luxury vehicles as they are more appropriately in work vehicles. Greedy automakers are the ones driving the market up in price and foolish buyers are eating off that plate of BS.

You are right. Pickup trucks are originally considered as work vehicles but people's needs are changing, so we are seeing a new breed of trucks that would never be used for work-related tasks (but rather as regular vehicles for going grocery shopping and commuting - compact pickup trucks are designed to do just that). The automotive industry is rapidly changing, we live in the world where a manual gearbox is offered as an option for some sports cars.

Rivian has a lot of overlanding gear that you can opt for. So we can safely say that manufacturers are considering this type of use for their product but we will have to wait and see how well these perform in the real world.

I do kind of agree with this. There is almost no point in having a truck unless it's specifically either for work...or it's specifically a show truck. There is no in between really.....these guys I see always running around with a bed cover and refuse to haul just about anything that's slightly dirty, I'm just not sure where that would ever get you unless you just have money to blow and don't give a shit. At that point an SUV would be better suited for driving normal as it will in fact for sure usually have AWD instead of 4 wheel which you actually have to know how to use correctly when you need it. In an SUV you don't have to. You really shouldn't have a truck unless you specifically need it's abilities or want to actually make a race/show truck.

Do not believe what GM is telling you the range is. We are getting substantially less,when we confronted the dealer they just said it's approximate. And now in winter it's a disaster.

Do you think that range estimations issue is even worse than that of the sticker MPGs?

@@automotiveterritory By far, MPG could be off by 5% to 10%. Our Milage on battery is off by as much as 30%. And they don't recommend to charge to full 100% during single charge because of the fire hazards so we charge to 80% and then later on remaining 20%. But if we have to go somewhere after 80% charge then we are already down 20% to start, plus the discrepancy. I will be getting rid of our EV, maybe in the future they will be better, but for now it's a disaster.

Those electric vehicles are not good they catch fire they burn at 5,000º and are energy monsters they require far more energy to make and generate to recharge them to get pityful and in the western states they are useless! 400 miles is nothing for range and the recharge time means and overnight stay every 400 miles!

Trucks are crazy over-priced these days. People will be taking out 15 year loans to afford them or be paying a mortgage payment prices to finance them for less time. Prices need to come back down. Until they do, I'll drive my GMC Sierra until it dies.

You are right, electric vehicles have limited range compared to ICE trucks. But some manufacturers are looking for ways to fix this. If I remember correctly, Jeep and Rivian are planning on installing charging stations on remove overlanding trails.

@@automotiveterritory not only range but the very driving dynamics of an EV pickup truck is different from a ICE variant of the same pickup truck . . . the whole EV design architecture will severely limit the vehicle's claimed off roadability . . . in EVs you can forget aftermarket 4.0 in. suspension lift kits & huge 37.0 in. M/T off road tyres . . . if you observe closely you'll see that the skateboard chassis of the RIVIAN T1 is nearly as same as the skateboard chassis of a Tesla Model S . . . but this is not the case with ICE vehicles . . . the chassis frame of a conventional pickup is very different from that of a 4-dr sedan which has a unitary monocoque chassis & body arrangement . . . this means when it comes to driving dynamics EVs are not near as flexible as ICE powered vehicles . . . believe your from Ukraine, stay safe out there my friend and keep your family safe as well . . . inspite of such chaos in your country your still making your videos, as viewers we're truly proud of you . . . take care . . .

I understand what you are saying about after-market parts. I'm afraid that the automotive world would never be the same, as manufacturers are giving us little to no room for customizations. Have you seen articles suggesting that the latest Mustang could not be properly tuned? This may happen to other vehicles too. So we just have to prepare to the new ways the cars are designed and manufactured. And yes, we are from Ukraine. Unfortunately I could not produce as many videos as I did in the past but I am trying to keep going.

Electric all wheel drive is not practical….. ! Use to much power up trying to get unstuck in sand, mud or snow, your screwed, start walking !

@@automotiveterritory Eliminate the option of Honk sound connected with locking a car. Don't even make it an option. Light flash is enough to tell people their vehicles are locked and armed. You don't need to wake up countless neighborhoods with the LOUD HONK for any reason. It should even be an option let alone made default. PS I had to listen to this for Years after having a stroke, open heart surgery and being in heart failure. It was anightmare. Id have to go out in my car and sleep in the woods to get away from it. No auto mamufacturer should have any right to subject someone to that.

If we look inside, none of these would qualify for the title of a traditional work truck. They all got nice interiors and high end electronics. I doubt that we'd be able to see a truck that is intended for work only in the nearest future.

You are pricing your self out of the working man's market. You will get much lower truck sales per year at these new high pricing. Yes you will sale some trucks to some higher income people. But there are by far many many more working class sales you will not get. Working class want functional working trucks...not luxury cars.

It is hard to admit, but the work trucks may be a notion of the past. More and more people are switching to trucks as their daily drivers, so they only need a fraction of utilitarian features that work trucks used to provide.

Chevy won the most awards for being the BEST truck in America 2. Chevy does NOT rust, and the Silverado is the most rust proof truck in the UNIVERSE. And preventing rust is extremely easy on a Chevy 3. Chevy has the most towing capacity, most well built, and I CAN GO ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON. That's nonsense. As a whole, most do not want EV and are only feeling pressure because Biden is making it tough on the oil companies. EV's are really the most inefficient vehicles there are. It takes the equivalent of 3 barrels of oil to produce a car that in essence produces an equivalent power of two barrels of oil. Not to mention the fact that those batteries, the Lithium comes from China. We have lithium here and plenty of oil. Trying to force this on us doesn't work....and the trucks are extremely silly, Ford, towing a 24ft trailer went 85 miles, Tesla's don't charge well in cold weather, too much charging affects the batteries.et, etc, etc. Finally, you can even tear them apart to recycle the batteries easily. It takes more than 2 hours just to tear one apart. They are horrible and if GM switches 100% you can sign me up with Ford@@automotiveterritory

Geez the energy secretary the green Granholme would be giving a fit at the word horsepower. She will probably ban diesel next. A vote for Biden is a vote for higher cost of living, higher energy costs and further control over our freedoms.
