New Horizons received a lot of updates over time, most of which added exciting new content additions, items and so much more. However, not all updates were positive additions or changes. So, let's take a look at some of the updates that actually made the game worse.

I'll never understand why i can't buy more than one of a clothing type at a time (like more than one shirt).

For real. I’ve had the game since it came out but never really sat down to play it until recently (my bf played it more than I did), but since playing it recently, this was one gripe I had with the game too. It’s kind of dumb and sometimes makes it hard to remember what you’ve bought, even if you’re trying to keep track with an app.

Yeah this is something I really hate and kept hoping they would change in an update but never did... It takes so long to buy everything since I always try to fill out my catalog buying every color of every item. It would also be nice if they could mark if an item for sale is already in your catalog or not too.

I agree. I hate having to go back to the fitting room to buy more shirts, pants, shoes, etc. I would shop at Able's more if we can buy more than one type of clothing at a time. It takes so much time to get every color variation.

Yeah or like a feature in the dressing room to wear it right away or add to a shopping cart, and for that matter, maybe also a sort of check V system if you already have an item in your inventory or home storage. (Yes I like to buy every different kind of clothing in every color)

What i think would have been nice with the villagers coming over would have been for them to call. We have the nook phone, and it can give and receive calls, so why is it that only Tom calls us, and then it's never used again? Give that access to villagers (they apparently have it to contact Tom), and then it could actually feel like you're planning for something. You're inside decorating, RING RING, automatically answer, "hey [player], it's [villager]. Are you busy? Cause i was thinking we could hang out at your place [catchphrase]. Can i come over?" Yes/No Then boom! You can choose to hang with a villager. It's a clean interaction, and it gives an extra function to a device that it should have had to begin with xD

Would be cool if you could call your villagers and directly invite them over that way too

yea for real, we can do everything with the book phone except use it as a phone, we should be able to invite villagers over the same way

This is a minor thing, but I wish decor items could be angled in corners of your house vs everything having to sit flat against a wall.

On top of shopping for clothes taking an irritatingly long time to get through, I wish they’d give us actual closets, so your clothes don’t take ur whole storage up. 😭

I remember my villagers just not appearing and I would look for them for 2 hours and then give up

I remember using the megaphone to call villagers in New Leaf. It's a shame it didn't have the same use in NH. Also I have Sasha, Shino and Raymond too ❤

i miss that so much! i had the new leaf book and it had everyone's coffee order it was so fun looking up each character to get the perfect drink

They capped the interest at 9999 on the interest. I've got 25 million bells and 9999 is all I ever get for them.

Hide and seek! You know I loved it. With the treasure hunt game it's harder to see the star on the ground with a decorated island. They started with 6 minutes and changed it to 3. Villagers hiding behind a tree would have been so much more fun. Bob's Gang

I love when villagers visit me, it feels like they're friends a bit more. That said I wish there was a feature that would let you then on and off the chance of them visiting (especially when you're decorating)

I preferred the older games where it was more common for them to ask and you schedule a time, so you would know that there was a specific time period where you couldn’t decorate. But I guess it’s fine since in NH, they leave faster

Nintendo prob won’t add modded items to the actual game because they don’t want to pay homage to the modders they’ve been trying to crack down on

Honestly the worst update to me was when they got rid of the custom trees people glitched ! 😔 They were so pretty and I want it back ! I quit after that happened tbh and only came back recently

Bob's Gang. I would like to have more variety in what our home town would be. I think it would be great if you could select a city, an island, a rural etc... And each category have their own collection of things and special characters visit. i.e. if you have a rural village you'd see CJ/Flick more often. If you choose city you get Label/Resse and Cyrus. If you get an island you'd see more of Gulliver/Saharah. That would definitely encourage people to visit each other. Also I'd like to see the ability to terraform with your best friends. It drives me nuts to do it alone and I know my friends don't like it either.

Here's a list of things I want in the next AC game (if any of you disagree with any of the things on this list, that’s ok, I can handle your opinion👍, but if there’s anything you can think of that you would like me to add to this list, I can add them👍): 1. Bulk crafting 2. purchase multiple types of the same clothing from Able's 3. lock my house 4. interact with bathtubs/pools 5. move plaza 6. more types of fruit/crops 7. minigames 8. more dialogue 9. villagers to have personality 10. customize buildings (exterior) and plaza 11. place furniture diagonally 12. place items in center of tables outdoors 13. get a job at the roost 14. more Nook store upgrades 15. the 3 pelicans to return (and please don't make Phyllis be nice) 16. Celeste's observatory 17. create more than one town/island instead of buying another console or another copy of the game 18. snow not to stay all winter long

I was thinking about the hide-and-seek feature (or lack thereof). Why couldn't the game bring you to a pre-made island similar to the mini-games in NL? Like you could start a convo with a villager on your island, and thy could ask if you wanted to play, if you say "yes," it'd take you to said designated island with a few of your other villagers and go from there.

I want wands to actually have a proper purpose like maybe Celeste needs you to cast a spell for something and she makes a new building and you can use it outside that helping process (like how it’s used in the fanmade movie mask)Like,I had to go to a star fragment island to finally make this,and all I get is a clothes changing thing!?🤬😤😡wand stuff)

Tbh i think people overreacted to the museum thing. Why would most players leave their museum un-upgraded anyways? But I agree that it would be nice if we could customize and choose how the exterior looks

Villager home visits would be better for me if they didn’t bug you as often or wait until you’ve been in your house for a longer time before knocking. And also I wish they wanted shorter visits more often too.

I've heard that people (particularly small children) got locked out of the art gallery because they accidentally discarded the genuine art that he gave them on his first visit and therefore couldn't get the flag from Blathers to find more real art. Nintendo chose to deal with that by taking out the "museum without an art gallery" step. Bob's Gang.

That weird missing villager thing explains a lot, I never thought about it at the time but at one point I was looking for some characters & failed to find them anywhere. That villager visit is also annoying(your suggestion would be helpful & I hope there's a mod for it) & I kept worrying I'd get randomly barged in on(ironic since I do the same to them) when I started New Leaf all over back in March. Yeah there's a lot of poor choices

What I would like to be able to buy a bike and yes we can do that but to get on the bike and ride around your island. Also, other things you can buy the item but not be able to use them. I think that's not how I see animals crossing new horizons. I'm addicted to finishing the game..A take your clothes out of your wardrobe and chest of draws. I would love to be more active . Like a villager would ask for help say getting a fish or R bug if you didn't able to that day and you take the item they'd ask for has no idea why you are giving them the item. They have as much brain power than a Nat! I would love this game to be more proactive like going to the beach and build sandcastles with your friend. I know I'm asking a lot if you don't ask then you won't get.

I miss the island exploring game that was on the 3ds in New leaf. They should have brought something similar on the little switch. I agree completely about the hide and seek too!

the Interest Nerf was a Response to the chronic timeTravelers who collectively travelled thousands of years and made billions of bells, while small Jump travelling is perfectly fine, skipping or rewinding a couple of days is practically harmless but those time travelers played the game to time travel and only to time travel.

I started again after forgetting to transfer my island data when getting a new Switch, ooops - and I have noticed some items are missing. I didnt even get the Mario cake for March 10th like previously. BUT I have noticed they have upgraded the villagers! They talk about new stuff and banter with another differently. :D
