Great advice. As a long-time world traveler I can say that #10 was the best advice you gave. I always put together each outfit and try it on with whatever coat is going with me. You're right on when you say that this one thing will keep you from over-packing.

One of my favorite tips is to bring a few clothes pins or even a small stretch clothes line (got this in a travel bag many years ago). You never know when you need to dry something or use the pins for keeping bags closed.

I use the clear plastic shower caps to cover my shoes. A bag is $1 at Walmart. I also always have an extension cord. Great tips thanks for sharing

Thanks for all the great tips!! I shared a large suitcase with my husband for our last trip to Europe and we still overpacked! Going back in May and I plan to downsize even more! We found that if you stay at an AirBnB, many of them have a washer and we would wash our clothes since it was a longer trip! Definitely helped!

Thank you for this video! My daughter and I are traveling to Greece next month and we are doing carryon ONLY! 😬 I know lol! We will be doing loads of walking/sight seeing, so sneakers and casual wear only, so I don’t think I’ll be overpacking. 🤞I always layout my outfits/try on and take pictures! This helps not overthinking about what to wear while on vacation. Great tips!

One thing I started doing years ago when on a flying vacation, esp. when you might be concerned with weight limits is to throw away any little item, toiletry or otherwise that I have used up, you can switch that weight for a souvenir weight, like a toothpaste tube for a magnet, or something to that effect. It really does all add up and can make a huge difference.

Excellent tips. I keep a toiletries bag packed at all times. My best friend lives out of town so when i decide to visit i just grab and go. I also have a little travel bag with duplicates of all my makeup. I don't wear much so it's not a big deal. I bought a bunch of the little sample size stuff at Sephora. I have a mini Tarte pallette, mini blush and mini benefit mascara and my brow pencil. I also bought a few extra brushes that stay in that bag. I do change up my foundation depending on the season but i usually just use my empty Sephora sample containers that are perfect for a few days of foundation.

Omg yes try on your outfits!! I’ve been on soooo many cruises but my last one I bombed out on the packing!! I only had one pair of flip flops and I was missing makeup! I was a hot mess!! Hi Crystal, The hubs and I both have coordinating Travelpro Maxlite5 hardside carry on and softside underseat bags. On my recent cruise, we used only these four bags, but I had to overflow into the hubster's bags. I'd like to add on a checked bag to my collection - What size checked bag would you recommend, and should it be hard or soft? Thanks!

Hi there, I'm currently using this hard side set: bit.ly/2SCMxSP The largest is 28". That's as big as I like to go. 29-30" just get too big to even put in the trunk of a taxi and they're harder to pull around. I like hard side for checked bags and both hard side and soft for carry on.

I need to pack makeup early, anytime I have forgot something for a trip is a makeup item!! It's because it's the very last thing I pack cause I'm using it. Even if you can run to a drugstore and get an item who wants to even worry about doing that when you have so many other things to do!

We hate packing on the last day of our cruise or trip so we now reroll our clothes after use and put back in a pack cube. Then we just have to put the packing cubes back in the suitcase and no end of the trip dreaded packing wasting our vacation time.

Yes, some of our things live in the packing cubes and we can just put back in the suitcase easily. We hang a lot of clothing on a cruise though. I hear you...hate the last night packing on a cruise. :)

Same here!! We always end up taking 2 suitcases, we keep one for dirty laudry and one for the other stuff. We repack our suitcase as we are done wearing them.so we don't need to bring the collapsable hamper...I am venturing into the packing cubes...I'm heading on my 21st cruise..that ive never used the cubes before.

Warning about bringing copies of your passports and credit cards... I have always taken a picture of mine and save that to the Cloud... they are always accessible to me, but they won’t fall into a thief’s Hands!!
