10 Ways To Stop Windows Spying On You
Have you been waiting to install Windows 10? Well hold your horses, it’s not all good news. Microsoft have made some privacy changes that you may not agree with. First off, the new operating system has been design to collect your personal data and track your usage, then send all this information back to Microsoft by default. Now you may be saying to yourself, that’s no big deal and if you feel that way then welcome to Windows 10. Millions have upgraded to Windows 10 and are very happy. It’s the tech community who know more about these privacy settings and are shocked at what’s being collected and shared. It’s not as simple as opting out of it either, you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it all disabled. There is a number of programs that can do this for you. I have added them to my forum for you guys.

After an install of windows 10 the monitor screen flashes on and off three to four times.After that no more flashes until the next boot up. Can you discuss a fix for this problem? Thanks.

I wouldn't mind if windows 10 is spying at me in anyway and i don't want to even try out the software you tried because i feel i could accidently "DESTROY" my windows 10 in fact i don't think then i can restore to windows 8.1 or get back windows 10! but great video britec09! Tip:if you don't want hackers to take a picture of you unexpectedly DO ENSURE: your webcam is disconnected or turned off so the hacker wont take pictures because basically you stopped them since they wont be able to get it

+InfinityGhost privacy has only been a concept..what these people are saying - without the guts to be straightforward about it - is they're gonna do what they want, and look you in the eye while doing it..can we stop them?..apparently not, and they know this..how sick is THAT..we used to have an option about cookies: now the line is 'by using this sight you agree.....etc. ...that's aggressive, and so is this..telemarketers - the recorded ones, that is - use that same line..aggression is one thing: this is just telling us there's no law saying they *can't* - so they're gonna do it and laugh at anyone who challenges them...there's no 'government'; there's no 'society'; there's no 'system'..the common denominator is * people* hiding behind these made-up phrases to do whatever the hell they want...

Another solution to that problem is use primer on the webcam and snip one wire to the mic. That takes care of that problem :).

Seems safer to just do things manually yourself if you ok with editing the registry and just turn off alot of the default privacy settings.

+rounak dutta the problem is that this info is sold to 3rd parties. in the past it has happened before that people got charged more for their insurance because of all the info the company had on people. and also a scary thought is that company databases are being hacked 24/7. then all the info will be public online for everyone to see

None of this actually really work. Here is what you are doing, you are using a third party program to alter a configuration file that the network communications program supplied by M$ as part of the OS uses to access the network. The OS can of course use more than one program, so it can simply route around those configuration, in fact in can use an alternate networking application, with it's own configuration file that you can not even see. The only blocks that can work are ones you add into an external firewall router.

WARNING folks: listen to his warning at the beginning, the quickest way to totally screw up a PC is adding all these programs which have NOT been tested by anyone but just thrown together and put out on an unsuspecting public. How will they interact with other programs?? nobody knows. to keep your PC running fast and smooth: add as FEW a new programs as possible!!. the more programs you add the more things that can go wrong. IMO all you need is a good antivirus, malwarebytes and add the browsers you want ( chrome, firefox) and you are DONE. you have been warned. BTW, nobody but a complete FOOL would allow "opencandy" to get on your PC, its malware up the yazoo.

The only sure way is to not use Win10, find an alternative before it is too late. Microsoft has taken our computers and turned them into terminals for their purposes. There is nothing free here.

Joel Stephens for the newer computers i would recommend linux mint with cinnamon. it looks really nice and feels and works the same as windows. for older computers i recommend linux lite. it is especially geared toward windows xp/7 users who want to try linux and has a classic start menu like windows 7. it is super fast but has a little less "eye candy" then linux mint

+TheDesius A more practical option is to keep using Windoze for any Win only app's or games. Then use Linux or one of the BSD's for everything else, especially e-mail and online shopping etc. Switched to Linux 2 years ago when the Snowden leaks confirmed all the evil shit Microsoft had been doing for years. Now using Arch Linux as my daily driver/main O/S, kept a small partition with Win 8.1 for gaming. But my disgust and dislike of Microsoft/Windoze outweigh any pleasure I would get from playing my Win only games so I don't play them at the moment or use Windoze. OSS & FOSS rule, F**K Microsoft and crApple. Jon.

I have windows 7 sp1 on my offline computer and that's it ..it works fine. This all in one I got has windows 10. Windows 10 is a piece of shit... haha it really is...it won't remember where my last back up is. It tells me my spyware protection is out of date..then spies on me itself. It refuses to go into sleep mode..then when I put it in sleep mode and it wakes up the screen is very dark and I have to reboot it to get the brightness back..WINDOWS 10 IS A PIECE OF SHIT!!!
