It's less about his warcrimes and more about how bland, lazy, cartoonish and flat of a villain he is. The fact that he is wasting *a lot* of screentime that could've been given to a far more interesting villain is the only real sin he committed.

I mean you can SAY that but if Kaschey doesn't get to take people over in the first place you never get there, and it's clear once you falter that's it until the very end of the chapter, it's a cop out to justify talulah not being that bad while Kaschey is the grand villian, when it could have been that talulah's heart was hardened from years of people not changing the way oppressed people have felt violence was their only respite throughout history, but in the end it's dragon man control me cause I lose GF

@livingrain but it wasn't? Losing Alina wasn't where Tallulah gave up. It was later when she went to a village looking for the Infected that went there in search for food only to find out that instead of denying the infected or running them off the villagers locked up the infected and left them to starve which upon finding out she burns the village that wasn't Kaschey making her do it it was Tallulah and even later in the confrontation Kaschey explains that to take full control of Tallulah her connections needed to be destroyed which is why the Reunion leaders are sacrificed.

@@shadymann9468 But this just feels like it was a retcon later considering Talulah acts exactly as Kaschey wants from start to the end conflict where only when Ch'en does the anime "I know you're in there somewhere!" Is she even trying. HG wanted to give a way out to justify a playable talulah is my theory because it doesn't really make sense for Kaschey to have to do any of that when talulah was not offering resistance to whatever he wanted for so long. But I get what you mean if I reread chapter 8 I'll pay close attention to the monologue 👍

@livingrain You see that's cause Kaschey was already there, Darknights Memoir when the Trio goes to work for Reunion Ines sees 2 shadows in Talulah which with the attempt on her life later is meant to setup something wrong with Talulah and that's the most obvious of the foreshadowing before chapter 8 since Talulah seemingly monologing in third person or the difference between how Faust and Mephisto see Talulah ultimately I'll admit it was kinda cheap having Kaschey behind the wheel most of the time but the fact that Talulah allowed them to do everything they did is an interesting conflict and concept people tend to forget about.

Nah I genuinely don't think the arknights writing is bad and hell if I'm 100% honest a lot of this video is hyperbole cause I think it's more fun to write something with either exaggerated praise or hate. For example, as much as I do not care for Nearl, I thought Near Light as a whole was really good

I don't like her but she would probably have avoided the list as it seems the writers more just make her delusional and/or mentally ill as opposed to trying to justify everything she does like they've done before. So overall I'd say she's ok, my lack of faith in HG was proven wrong on that one.

Talulah had potential but like I said they really choked on the execution

I don't think it's a fair assessment on Manfred, we all know that every major character has a spotlight somewhere in the main story, but it haven't shone on Manfred just yet due to how much we don't know about him, maybe he gonna get that W treatment with his own backstory and redeem himself before the arc is over

@@kraney195 that's exactly my point, we don't know anything about him but they also didn't give him any characterization at all on top of that that's why the only thing i could remember of him are " me strong, im a threat" and "you don't know the sarkaz suffering" they didn't make an attempt to give him any characterization either through dialogue or inner monologue or just raw outburst of emotion he literally just a stat stick rhodes island and glasgow gang has to overcome. anyway what you said basically just like "game got good after 100 hours" or " the show finally start at season 3" it's personally something i don't really like, but i understand lot of people fine with this why can't it be good since hour 10 or season 1 ? they able to do so with frostnova,patriot,kristen,BK ,Mandragora and so on. Can they salvages manfred as character ? possibly, and i never be happy to be proven wrong if it's making the story better but does it mean i have to keep my opinion netral until then ? absolutely not i can only judge for what presented infront of me at the current moment since i couldn't see the future

@@kraney195 i'm sorry but i already hard disagree with your point " let's wait till x before judge" frostnova doesn't have any role until chap 4 and she's great in it the same as W since you mentioned her, at the moment we met her she already have tons of characterization and wit that keep her interesting not to mention how she already know us and amiya making her dialogue more personal. Manfred however got none any of this, we don't know what he's thinking, we don't know what kind person he is, we don't know his motivation, his dialogue are boring the only attempt at characterization are when he mention about sarkaz suffering and how he's seen hell. but this is very cheap, i despise this when its happened in manga,anime,movie even in real life "oh you don't know what i have been through" alrite i don't, so can you tell me so i can atleast understand ? "i don't want to, bye" not to mentioned Manfred appeared on 3 Chapter in total already Chapter 10 when he's the main antagonist of the stories and episode 11 and 12 as minor character. Frostnova,Patriot,Kristen,Mandragora already an interesting character with Clear motive in 1 Chapter alone but manfred can't do any of that in 3 chapter. like i said, if you dont mind Bland character being bland with hopium they'll go great on later part of story it's all good. but what i said are legit critism for how poorly they handle manfred, i can't see future so i don't know if he gonna be great or not. but for sure i can tell now that he's sucks and i dont need to wait potentialy 1-2 years to tell that he's sucks.

@@livingrain Well in that case the only thing I would like to have some opinion on his Nearl in this list, I don't care that much about other characters you mentioned or just agreeing with some. Nearl is a Mary Sue is quite a stretch, I would say, she has her moments, like fighting against Mlynar's advice because he was written to be a corpo bootlicker that believes nothing can be changed, which is not supposed to make you agreeing with him, Nearl actions perharps changed his mind, which is why he decided to take a "vacation" in the end for the search of his brother. Maria is also not quite exactly like what you said, her dream isn't quite being a knight, and we knew she always has a knack for mechanical work, as a hobby, she idolized her sister, and wants to know more about Nearl, this is the main factor that influenced her decision to join the Major in the first place, which is a foolish endeavor, she almost lost to plastic knight, and further fighting, especially after the two Sarkaz assassin, would put her life quite in danger, she does not have her own beliefs yet, blindly following her sis, which is a nice build up to future developments, that is why it is called Maria Nearl event, and the next part is Nearl Light, of course it is gonna have Nearl as the spotlight. Roy is also not quite really pure bad, or Monique, or Platinum, they fight on the wrong side, and pretty enjoyable as antagonists, probably selling soaps rn (lol), the only true villains in the events are Darksteels, and KGCC higher ups who gives command in the shadows, which Nearl failed to even budge them in the slightest after the event. She also showed that she is not capable of everything, like her first introduction is her almost got killed by Talulah, then Ace had to sacrifice in order to buy time, or that she has alway able to use that swordlance, her shield is the new weapon for her, which she uses as a defender operator bc it is her role, she didn't took up a new weapon, she reuses it, in fact they kinda downplayed her strength in Nearl light, she is not a competition knight, she has years of real war and battle experiences, making her a campaign knight, and campaign knight are a different beast, compare to competition knights who just spent their time training and fighting in the major, so it is surprising she's even struggle in the major, with knights that haven't even seen what a real battle is like. One more thing, the ending of her carrying the bloodknight is one of the most beautiful, and well written part in a9, she has to fight the infected's champion, after it has been revealed that she is not infected, whether she loses or wins, it's not gonna be pretty, we know that, we can guess that, yet she managed to make it the best outcome, by simple good sportmanship, which is severely lacking in the Major, you make it sounds like good sportsmanship is bad, probably for comedic purpose. Anyway, this is long, very long, I know you exaggerate things for comedy, but I don't know if you really think so or not, and that is so far from the true message of Nearl light that it is probably best to just tell you, and why I think so, is that I also like making offensive jokes, the best ones are the ones you half believe it is true, so I just assume you might actually one or two thing you said.

Whats even more strange is the fact that most male characters in the game are interesting and better written but often get sidelined in the lore and dogsh*t ingame, again I said most not all
