Right? A lot of these are appropriate, true narcissists, like Jim Jones. Some of them (I will dare say Hitler) seem more dangerous due to sociopathic tendencies. Hitler was more dangerous because he was persuasive enough to get others to think they themselves were superior and then manipulate them into doing what he wanted. Idi Amin... well, @louiehouston4389 said it already. Who but an off-the-charts narcissist could give themselves that title with a straight face? If that is not inflated ego, then I don't know what is. To be clear, it seems most of these people deserve to be on a Cluster B list regardless of whether they are narcissists or something else, or a combination, but I am no psychologist/ psychiatrist.

@@karenwebb4557 Yeah, sounds about right. I unfortunately grew up during the reign of some of the most bloodthirsty tyrants of the mid 20th century. Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Jean- Bedel Bokassa, Muammar al Qaddafi, Robert Mugabe, Kim Jong Il, Omar al-Bashir, Augusto Pinochet, Mao Zedong, and my personal favourite, the "Butcher of the Balkans" himself... Slobodan Milosevic (Bill Clinton knows him well 😏). There was also the Rwandan Civil War that broke out in 1990 which was on the news every night. It was impossible to escape the carnage. I'd often come home to the sight of my parents glued to the tv, watching the latest atrocities committed against mankind by some of the most evil men to ever draw breath (for some reason they're always men aren't they? 🤔) And my parents grew up during "The Great Depression" and WW2. Double Trouble. So this kind of terror was almost routine to them. But they still gobbled up every piece of media about whatever conflict happened to be occurring at the time. And now we have Trump to contend with. The most insecure man on the planet, which also makes him the most dangerous man on the planet.

I'm the daughter of a classic (overt) narcissist. In my opinion, the thing that's so bad about coverts is that they're so sneaky and underhanded, so you usually don't notice it for a long time. A lot of their selfishness and manipulative behavior is done behind the scenes where it's harder to notice, and you end up blaming yourself for all of their own bad behavior.

Had Nixon accepted responsibility for Watergate for the get-go the whole scandal would have quickly gone away, as JFK accepted responsibility for the Bay of Pigs debacle. JFK could have laid it off on the CIA and military chiefs, the true culprits. In accepting the blame - 'the buck stops here' - he gained respect from the American people. Tricky Dick Nixons constant lies and coverups was his undoing.

Donald Trump is a narcissist more malignant than a brain tumor, and anyone that is incapable of noticing that is either blind and deaf, or might as well have the word "target" tattooed on their forehead. @@Lana2k6It’s much easier to armchair diagnose a dead historical figure even though a proper diagnosis requires personally interacting with the patient and giving them a full psychiatric evaluation. Plus, “armchair diagnoses” of dead historical figures wouldn’t cause as much backlash or run the risk of libel lawsuits from the people in question.

@someguy7993 - Well, I think that Mao Tse-tung, or Zedong, was a BAD Communist along with Stalin and Pol Pot for having failed to follow the teachings of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels and Vladimir Lenin in how to build a socialist or Communist society without any sort of excesses or crimes throughout such a period. After all, they have given socialism or Communism a BAD NAME in historical terms as well.

The thing with with Josef Stalin is that, prior to the Germans invading the USSR in 1941, Stalin fired all his generals, actually making the Red Army weaker.
