0:40 The iconic photo of Bret bending Mr. Perfect in half at Summerslam '91 will be etched in my mind forever. How Curt managed to do that match and take that finish with his back as bad as it was is a testament to the competitor he was. May he RIP. I was at that show, it was my first live event. But it was something that Vince didn't want that walking refrigerator of pain doing because it's a Small Guy move and Brock looked like he would eat a Small Guy for lunch on Wednesdays. John Cena's Five Knuckle Shuffle (a euphemism for masturbation and yet they never changed THAT name in the PG era) is the worst looking fist drop of all time. In most instances, it looks like his fist lands a whole foot away from his opponent's head and even when it does connect, the positioning of his arm makes it look entirely lacking in any real impact. But, much like the more beloved People's Elbow (which often looks much better in my opinion due to The Rock kind of snapping down into a quick descent on the drop), he gets away with it due to the preceding theatrics. Of course there are other moves that are similarly all about the build up such as Scotty 2 Hotty's worm and Otis' caterpillar, but at least in the latter example the wrestler's size makes the elbow drop look impactful.

@@arashitendou5941 Yeah, that's another one. It's not a bad thing to have a theatrical build up to a simple move. The fans get invested in the ritual of it all. I bet if any of the aforementioned wrestlers did just the actual move part and not the theatrics associated, the crowd would be severely underwhelmed by it. But do the ritual and they pop. It may not be realistic, but it is entertaining.

@@JimTheAPE not arguing there But my point was regardless of the theatrics Hogan’s leg drop was pretty lame I mean guys like Kazarian were at least smart in that they use other factors to both add impact to theirs but also make it safer for themselves Hogan didn’t wrestle nearly as much in the grand scheme of things because he was such a special attraction back then, but he’s the one with the busted spine and numerous stables in his back For all of Vince and his “safer” actions his company sure as heck played a big part to the major lists of wrestler deaths and issues later on in life

What qualifies you the maker of this video and all you keyboard warriors in here to be judging professional athletes? I'm a big fan of UFC but I don't sit on here on about that punch is wrong, they kick is wrong because who the hell am I to say that? Likewise who the hell are you lot to tell PROFESSIONAL WRESTLERS, how to Wrestle? I refer to a comment Kenny Omega made!

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I completely disagree with Edge's spear being here. No, it doesn't look as impactful as Rhino's spectacular Gore or Goldberg's dangerous tackle. But it was consistent and safe. Stevie Richards recently did a breakdown analyzing all three of those (as well as Reigns's) and I left the video convinced that Edge actually does it best. Even if Rhino's does look MUCH cooler.

The only person with a worse Spear than Edge is Charlotte. Big Show came close, but his size made it somewhat believable.

@@nikmachen6561 Never seen Charolotte's. I dipped out of WWE's product years ago. So, I can't comment on hers. Still think Edge's consistency and super safe delivery are important, though.

"it was consistent and safe" so safe that he broke his own neck with it.

@@Wurzelknecht His spear didn't break his neck. That was an accident (or two) in a ladder match in 2003 with Eddie Guerrero: landing on a ladder and taking a sunset flip powerbomb off of another. Made him need neck surgery. That's probably part of why his spear is as gentle-looking as it was, after that. To protect his neck as much as he could. That could only do so much, though. General wrestling wear and tear led to the damage eventually catching up with him.

Great #1. Edge was a joke outside of tag teams.

I wish people stopped using that sorry excuse of a comeback. Those are trained professionals, certain standards should be used. No one's saying they could do it better, but that trained professionals SHOULD do it better.

Wait what? People think Edge has a weak spear? This is the first time I'm ever seeing this. I love his spear! It's impact is quick and it's unique to himself. I had no idea this was sentiment people had.

A lot! They probs didn't see him doing these crazy ladder spears but even normally Edge's spear is iconic, and if anyone had a running hug it's Goldberg in WCW battle royal.

I've always hated it, going back to his tag team days. Besides, he's not big enough to justify using a spear as his move.

@@PoolKid75 I thought that his version of the spear fit his size cause it was more about the quick impact rather than like a football tackle.

Shane's punches might be awful but he's forever in our hearts for that match with Steve Blackman and that 30 foot or whatever fall. 🫡
