The Jerry Lawler heart attack episode was the moment I truly gained respect for Michael Cole. You could tell he was absolutely terrified for the rest of the show, but he continued on for the rest of the show like the professional he is. He has become the voice of WWE, and on that night, he earned that title.

@CobaltCruiser
@CobaltCruiser 4 жыл бұрын
I rather like this idea. Granted it would be a lot of work, and I would not blame Adam for not wanting to do it. But Adam is so good and picking out every little detail and articulating his thought process, if anyone can do it, he's your guy. Have a good look at a particular superstar's gimmick. What to keep, what to tweak, what to ditch. Which superstars would be the best choice for them to have matches with. And ultimately, how to book the match that puts them back on top.

Also, the show wasn't scheduled for the 13th, it was supposed to take place on the 11th. Remember that all flights were grounded for days. So, basically all the WWE stars were kinda stranded in Houston for days. They could either drive home, or try and give a shell shocked nation something, anything else to think about for a couple of hours. To me, that's one of the WWE's finest hours. Not just as a way to escape for a moment, but also a defiant stance against terrorism and fear. I think Vince might believe Mania this year is serving the same purpose, but really it's a different situation, since we're fighting a virus, not terrorists.

Not a huge disaster but I went to a Raw in Cincinnati Ohio where the stage caught on fire due to a pyro accident, it was moments before they allowed the crowd inside the arena. They actually mention it on tv that night and luckily the show still went on. It smelled of smoke the whole night and some of the stage lights didn’t work but it was a good show.

Maybe it's because im an American and an extremely patriotic one at that, but a mass gathering would have to happen sooner or later and wrestling was a good way to do it. Mcmahon's opening promo was exactly what every American needed to hear and should never be forgotten.

11:06 - the way Kane is positioned, I wonder if he was looking at the announcers' table concerned about what was happening .

It's hard to top the 9/13/2001 SmackDown as far as surreal WWE events to re-watch. The other ones that stands out to me are the Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit tribute shows.

You gave the number one entrance a lot of care as it deserves but you could've lightened up the tone because yes it was a horrible tragedy but man oh man Vince show America that it's not OK to be afraid and we are stronger than these attacks an these cowards. it is a damn good moment

That fire at the TNA pay-per-view was what earned Eric Young the name "The Pied Piper of TNA" as he talked everyone into leaving the arena. They could have done it by holding a (enter wrestler name here) match.

When Lawler had his heart attack, I heard snoring. That's when I knew it was a heart attack and because Lawler had wrestled before, I knew it was him. I remember turning to my mom saying, "King's having a heart attack." and she not believing me.

There was a Tribute to the Troops episode (don’t know what year) where terrorists fired artillery miles away from the event. Michael Cole would even announce it later on but they still went through it cause of course they did.
