Hey all! Today I'm sharing about my experiences in embedded software/embedded systems coding over the last 10 years. This includes high school, college, and work experiences - it doesn't include all the projects I've done because the video would be way too long then... Feel free to ask me questions in the comments section to clarify things! Cheers!

I consider you to be a good person. You are thankful to God. I hope you will understand. Your God is one and when time comes to Him you will return. He has beautified this earth to test us which of us is best in deeds. Soon the earth will be a barren land. Jesus (peace be upon him) is His slave and messenger. Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon Him) is God's slave and seal of the messengers. Submit to God and believe what He has sent. He will increase you in guidance.

I also started as an EE and went into primarily Embedded Software. It's a fun world. The code you write has physical, and often critical, effects on the world, instead of some widget in a cloud or user device. We get the best bits of both hardware and software I think.

It's interesting how you mentioned your journey through trade school. Initially, I pursued graphic design but eventually dropped out of college. However, four years later, i decided to return to school to study engineering technology. This led me to a job working on drawbridges, where I gained experience in electrical work and learned how to program PLCs. Now, you're back in college pursuing a degree in computer science, but I’m considering switching to computer engineering due to my extensive experience with Arduino over the years. Additionally, in my previous job, i acquired programming skills in Python.

Nice life journey! My embedded journey began in 2007, where the first thing teacher taught me is intel 8051 and Z80 😅. Then continue to ATMega family (no Arduino that time). Actually I enjoyed experience as embedded eng, but unfortunately there's no job as embedded eng at that time. So i join with one of oilfield service company as field Specialist but Embedded still on my brain. Until in 2016 I met ESP8266, that's IC make me more interested due to it's wifi+microcontroller. In 2018 that's my first time met with STM32F1

My cs degree has classes on embedded systems, computer architecture, a/c circuts, and digital electronics on top of the normal software developer oriented classes if that helps and I intend on taking all of these.

Interesting question, I’m not sure if that’s true… if you’re going into robotics and end up working on software… then yeah you’re in there basically. I personally haven’t met many people with mechatronics degree here in USA

Hello just about to start a course in embedded programing... have two questions First can a embedded programmer work as a software engineer? Second studying embedded programming in an institute for two yrs is ok?? Because it's One yrs of studying and the second yr is just co-op are these enough to get a job ?? Ur response will be appreciated

I'm a second year student in an engineering college studying electronics and tc. I am interested in embedded systems. And the syllabus doesn't seam to help, it is much more theoretical than any practical knowledge. Where do I start?

I just finished my 3rd year, it seemed like a waste of money when I look back on how many power engineering units I had to do which were so boring and repetitive, but the rest of the units were pretty interesting though.

Hey guys, i am a mech engineer and wanted to learn microcontrollers to do robotics, i know a little bit of arduino but this field is so confusing, what are the subjects i need to study so that i can create a basic- moderate level circuit by myself and integrate microcontrollers into it and atleast understand the overall processes taking place. A reply is greatly appreciated.

Hey! It sounds like you might be trying to take on too much at once. If you want to focus on designing PCBA boards (which is electrical engineering heavy) you'd want to find some sources on KZfaq or Google to get started with that (I'm not that familiar with it - maybe someone else can give a better recommendation here). Although if you'd want to focus on learning programming microcontrollers and trying to understand what basic skillset you might need to get going... check this video out... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fqydes5l1NvKmmw.html - Hope this helps a little bit... let me know if you have other questions :) Cheers!

@@GreidiAjalik hello sir, thanks a lot for the speedy reply, your vedio really clarified my doubts, i got to know that i am more interested in the uses of the microcontrollers than how they work exactly. ❤ thanks a lot, hope you put out more great vedios like this.

How important would you say is an understanding of "circuits boards" or "electronics" for embedded engineering? I have a good understanding of software development, writing code, designing systems but no experience with embedded systems. I guess you have APIs to the sensors or motors you need to control to get data but is that really all you need in the end?

Depends on how "high level" you work in the code. If you're writing drivers as an embedded software engineer, you'll need to understand how to read schematics, understand some about circuit boards (if you need to probe signals real time on the board), and maybe a little bit about electronics. I can tell you, that you can get away without really not needing any of that - I worked at Alstom and all I did was high level programming... never even touched or saw the real circuit boards I was writing code for. Here's a quick video of pretty much of all low level protocols you should be familiar with for embedded software engineering: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fqydes5l1NvKmmw.html

How long does it take for you to study EE in Community college and transfer to 4 year university? I am also studying engineering program at CC this year. Would like to know the duration time of studying at CC. Some people say it takes 3 years for engineering students to transfer 4 year university. Is it really true ?

Good question! It took me 3 years because I did mechanical engineering associates degree as well... otherwise if I would had been able to do it 2 years. If you want to do it in 2 years, you gotta stay on schedule and always take full load+ classes.
