Kids are great, and yes, I can see having one that you might not have expected. However, if the household income isn’t increasing, it’s time to put that on hold. The wife could be working sooner if there was just one who is daycare or school age. Continuing to have little ones delays her ability to work outside the home.

Tom Smith, no it won’t, but it would eliminate all the other debt, plus at least temporarily stop the garnishment, so it might at least help with cash flow. But, with the number of kids he has vs his income, he MIGHT be able to get it discharged on the basis that he’s technically at the poverty level. That’s a huge maybe though. I’m not a lawyer.

I went from 20k with 4 mouths to 50k in 4 months, after 3 years I begged for a transfer to Charleston wv and they did and by this point I'm making 70k. 6 years later 85k. As someone who makes websites I love to hear Dave tell practically everyone to make extra money in IT and making websites. It's legit an ideal way to make extra money from home almost wherever you live. Every year the additional income from that has gone up, from 4k now to about 14k heading for 20k thanks to lockdowns. It's also been a great way to build relationships with people who can become friends in high places when I need advice about my own trajectory.

Prior to that I earned a degree in Graphic Design so I combined the two but that's not required at all because templates are so good now. Basically, I'd pick a platform you think you might like - see what tutorial content is on KZfaq to support your learning and start with family and friends.

I feel like the Dave Ramsey show should have a call screener that gathers all of the basic information from the caller before they even talk to Dave. They should have a standard form that they fill out with the caller's household income and debts and payments. The screener types all of that into a computer form and Dave sees it all on his screen when he takes the call. Then he could quickly review it with the caller and get right in to the question. And then he could ask more questions if need be. Sometimes it takes forever for the callers to actually describe their situation.

Having kids is not the problem, they are great, but not being able to take care of them in ALL aspect of life is beyond sad. There is no joy in being stress just because, you can't feed your kids basic food, thinking where you will get money to pay rent. I had a family friend that has 9 children, there is nobody that won't envy them, because of the love, joy, comfort and all round awesomeness in the home. The parents were teacher and accountant, salary earners that lived in a 5 bedroom house, no luxury but had everything they ever needed, and the least successful of the children is a Pharmacist. Children are precious!

School should wait for now, they both work full time, the wife can do day, working as a teaching assistant or something close to the kids school, the husband does night and do household chores, laundry and cleaning, while the mum takes care of kid on return and prepare food. Also she can do KZfaq once a week edit and stuff, probably on Saturday, Sundays they can have family time. They can do it, there are millions before them.
